  1. SUB QUESTION: Has anyone flown Delta, with their new surfboard rules? If so, are they really sticklers to the 115" linear dimension limit?
  2. Kind of a shot in the dark, but here goes... I'll be in Orange County for work, this week (Tue-Fri), am looking for a log. Forecast looks pretty small, so the shortboard does little good. I'd gladly pay in (quality) beer, or what have you. I'll be staying in Newport, and working in Costa Mesa. I'd be willing to drive somewhere nearby. Otherwise, anyone know of a surfshop that rents fiberglass (eg. not a softtop) boards? Thanks! -Brian
  3. Article from the Star Tribune, here in Minneapolis. 03APR19
  4. Any late-season reports from Giant's and/or Lutsen? How are things holding-up? I'm contemplating a hooky day, tomorrow (Fri, Mar22), and make for one last trip. Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the tips, y'all. I like the Velcro idea.
  6. I've had to remove a couple (perfectly good) of stomp pads, doe to mounting of plate systems. Is it possible to re-use these? Is there a certain method to get these sticking? I thought about epoxy (or the like), but am hesitant due to the permanence of this solution. Any ideas? Thanks. -Brian
  7. Last chance of the season for some quality turns, today. Will be out at lift-open, until it gets sloppy.
  8. Poor little guy. He looks lonely.
  9. Thanks for the heads-up! I was going to head there on Sunday. Now I'll have to deal with these ice dams. Thanks.
  10. Beaver. Good call. We only waited for one, single lift. Well, I guess that's our new Saturday joint (which is sad, as the (Breck) gondola is only 100' away).
  11. I like no crowds. And a good bar! As for slow lifts, we're from Minnesota, and have yet to be spoiled by high-speed lifts.
  12. What's the Saturday crowd like, at Cooper? We're looking for a Saturday option, to avoid the Breck crowds.
  13. Another great day at the 'Mill. Empty (at least till 1:00), luscious groom, and chicken on the outdoor grill. I really love this place. The staff is as friendly as it gets, no one is agro, and you never have to look uphill. After 2-hours of ripping apart Run of the Mill, I felt a bit guilty of making a mess of the place.
  14. Wednesday morning was fun. 10" or so the day before, packed-down, and a little bit slow.
  15. Sweet! Saw Ryan under the Mercury lift a few times, that day. I kept on poking my wife, saying "That's Ryan! He rips!". Hardbooters are few and far-between, at Breck.
  16. I busted a upper cuff strap (tooth portion) on my 700's, while in Breck. Being there's nowhere in Summit County to find (Deeluxe) parts, I went to a bootfitter (Surefoot), and they replaced the strap with ski boot parts. Not the prettiest, but it works. With no other option, $20 was a screaming deal. Keep in-mind I did have to go to several different places before I found a shop that would repair it. So you may have to check around as to who fixes boots. On a side-note, I busted a 700 toe buckle, a few weeks ago. Again, in Breck, I went back to Surefoot. Back in business for another 20-spot.
  17. 1/23 Fun, hard conditions. Alps side was a little banged-up, from previous days races, but still good. Absolutely dead. Epic Mix says +5000, and 19 lifts (though I know it was more than that), and the lifts never stopped once.
  18. You mean the -8F high temp? Hey, it'll be -16F for first lift.
  19. Thanks for saving me the goose-chase. Okay, so can a guy source these somewhere online?
  20. Anyone have a good (national) source for bolts/washers (5-mm hex Oval head?), used with Bomber bindings? I found I was short (actually they were too long) a bunch, when I went to mount a plate. I did get some Philips bolts from the local shop. I like to keep everything standardized on 5-mm (or whatever Bomber is), if possible, as it just makes life easier. Thanks! -Brian
  21. I have a 5mm BoilerPlate, to which I mounted a pair of TD3's. The whole set-up felt a bit wonky and uncontrolled, compared to my other rig with a AF Plate, and F2's (no riser thingy). My guess is that I need the BP disk kit. So my question is, do you find your cant angels change, when using a Plate? I run 3 and 6 when directly mounted to the board. I didn't change anything with the F2 setup, other then removing the plastic riser piece. But that just also has a different canting system (read: didn't want to dick with it). Thanks! -Brian
  22. thanks for the heads up. Any idea what the difference is between the 4-Hole and Center disk?
  23. So how about Fintec heels into Intec receivers?
