  1. Looks like I have 7 of these, on hand (maybe from some Cateks?). A guy would want washers, too, which I do not have. Once you add the washer, my guess is that you'd want a few more threads in the (UPM only!) insert.
  2. Taking a last minute trip to Breck, and have a Power Plate (v2?) that could use a new home. Low miles. I'm riding the CME, so pick-up is local only, April 27 - 30. Will post pics when I can. Cheers! $100
  3. It's kind of like pushing your old couch out of the truck, in Dinkytown.
  4. Nice! I want to hang one under my front porch. Maybe even mount it in such a way that it swings, a bit.
  5. 12F on my deck this morning. Sure feels like the lifts should be spinning! Keep us in the loop. I'd love to buy one of the chairs!
  6. Nice, quiet day at in the Alps. The snow is surprisingly good, and it is sort of hard top believe it's March. Not a brown spot to be found, even in the Highlands. We'll see what happens later this week, with the potential of rain and warmer temps. But hey, it's been a great season! Can't complain about being 100% open (and with great snow), in mid-March.
  7. At our local bump, done for the day, and walking toward the car. A 16-year old (or there about says)... "Dude that's so rad! My brother wants one of those, but they're like $400 dollars!" I just nodded and said, "Yeah, they're a little pricey".
  8. Ain't the Rockies, but it is right out the back door. Can't beat that. And with Cat access!
  9. Got to love the Gull. Even after the rain and ice, earlier this week, it was groomed very well. Plenty carvable.
  10. I'm diligently working on my pseudo-Local status, at the Northside.
  11. The lone gun, at Breck. I get it; It's not the most ideal place for carving, in Summit Co. I'll have to give Keystone a go, one of these days. It's just tough to get in a car/shuttle, when the Gondola stop is outside your window.
  12. Our lovely little Epic bump, here in MN. It's been cold, even by Minnesota standards, which has been keeping folk at home. This was two hours into the day.
  13. Hard as all get-out, yesterday. Fast. Very fast. But for how nice a day it was, it was completely empty! I was seeing tracks from several hours prior in the day, when I left.
  14. Pretty rotten conditions, yesterday, for carving. Did one run, and changed to the sticks. That recovered it, and all was fun. Someone was out, making deep trenches in the off piste. Stay classy, Minnesota. Stay classy.
  15. A Minnesota classic mom/pop ski area is looking to re-open, this winter! I have a weird affinity for small, quirky ski joints, so I'm pumped! https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2023/01/18/steeplechase-is-reopening-ski-hill.html
  16. Having run into this same sort of issue (on a few occasions), I've now converted everything back to non-step-in. It's just too complicated of a system, IMO. Neat concept, but personally I'd rather bend over and flip a piece of plastic, vs losing a day on the slopes. Be on the look-out! Hope to have all that Step-In related gear on the For Sale forum, in a bit.
  17. Just came across this, the other day! Looks fun!
  18. Best snow conditions I've personally experienced, this year. And that includes Colorado. Lusciously deep groom. Ski Gull!
  19. Of course there are better places to get your carve on, but it feels as if there should be at least one other person, 'booting at Breck. Right? 14-days on the season, thus far, and not a single spotting, be it in-motion, or in a ski/board rack. Am I just missing others? I am on first tracks, which a guy would assume other Apliners would be, as well. Yes, Loveland and Basin have a following, even Copper (haven't seen another booter there, this season, either), so is it to be assumed there is Zero overflow? Last year, I saw just one guy from NY (can't remember name, but on 'vintage' gear), which we ironically bumped into each other on two separate trips. And both times at Peak 6. Kind of weird.
  20. Had my stuff packed in the car, all set to hit Afton, after a short stint at the office. The breeze of a commute made me realize what day it was. Nah. Tomorrow...
  21. I've only been to Steven's once, on a random weekday, 5-years ago. So, pre-Vail, and bar-none, the busiest place I've ever been to. I just couldn't believe the number of people there. Literal ants-on-a-sugar-hill. And it was raining! Cars lined-up, just waiting to get in the (full) parking lots. Did I mention it was raining? We left after 3 "runs", which was some of the most nerve-racking people-dodging I've ever done. Now, if that's how it was before Vail got ahold of it? I can't even imagine it any worse. Anyway, just my one, random experience. Next day we went to Mission Ridge; $20, real (eg. 'dry') snow, not a lift line in sight, and all of us wondering why we didn't just drive a few more hours, the day before.
  22. From the west Metro, Powder Ridge isn't all that much further. Gets a guy thinking, that's for sure. Sorry for hijacking your thread @lonbordin Back to Paoli...
  23. Weekends (Sat/Sun) open at 9:30, and weekdays are 1:00. Splitting hairs, but still, it's a bummer for those of us who like to get in those quiet, weekday morning turns. This point last season, I'd been to Afton maybe 15 times. This year; 2. As Bob pointed out, both those sessions were ended because of lift lines. My best guess is this is partly driven by labor shortages. Look around the resort, and you see almost no staff under the age of 40 (at last outside of the chalet). Maybe that's a Vail decision? Years past you'd always have "kids" working the lifts. That doesn't appear to be the case, now. Last visit, the Alps and Main lots were full before the lifts even started turning. One, singe, lonely lift/run in Highlands. Plenty of 'snow', things were groomed, just 1/2 the hill was roped-off. They could have easily opened every single lift, and in years past, they would have. Again, I'm guessing they, like many other businesses, simply can't find the personnel.
