  1. That was frank dietzel right?
  2. Awesome edit Ryan! What a great time! Let's do it again!
  3. Epiphany time... So many gimmicks, so few good riders... I hope they sell lots of boards... Meanwhile, they curious and adventurous will keep asking us questions and we will share the alpine gospel with the world!
  4. Got the hook ups from the boys at EEKOE.com! Socks socks socks! Thanks for the giveaways! I have 20 assorted pair and a grip full of stickers to hand out! Head over to the site and check it out
  5. I too am watching conditions. Planning to Summit Saturday or Sunday with the kids. Weather permitting. Need to play a bit on that new to me 163 SG pro team.
  6. I'm sorry. Let's just leave it as I prefer bomber.
  7. So connected slop is better than dampened leverage...? Ya. That makes no sense to me
  8. Seems like being suspended would create more leverage. See definition of lever and fulcrum...
  9. Noooooo! Totally understand. You will be missed
  10. I run power plates and burly flow nx2gt bindings an a very stiff/heavy BX. Weight is no issue. I run yellow elastomers on my Td-3 bases and love it. No one else is currently providing a softboot system that has the versatility that this provides. I'm no racer but the system works...insert sarcasm here.... Notice the latency in my turns here. I'm totally waiting for the edge to engage and the weight is a big problem... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=H8MyUEYtEwE
  11. All are welcome! Family friendly. Those are the requirements. Carving encouraged!
  12. I'm on a new to me rev 175. Still nursing a cracked rib from a fall at ATC with a backpack that threw me off balance and into a sweet chest slap. I'm 210 and the rev I have has a slightly larger radius than stock but is of current construction. This board only came with UPM inserts. Riding it with an f-plate. At ATC, I tried the af plate as well. I liked them both for different reasons. The af added a touch more edge hold but I felt it more than the f plate. The f plate just let me know it was there when I needed it. I'm really loving this board and I'm chomping at the bit to get another couple days on it this season. Not until SNES though (California Carver Classic at June) The size is just right for letting it run or diving in deep. Thanks Sean!
  13. We are at Boulder lodge. Jacuzzi party at our place
  14. It was soup... The sg was fun but cream corn over soft ice were the conditions. Fun spring. No gloves with a long sleeve tshirt... Went straight to the twin tip for some butter/ switch play. Should get better as colder temps and possible precip look likely in the forecast later this week
  15. Going up with Katie and our boys. In early and out early. Test driving the new SG163 in the morning
  16. Anyone considering lodging options? I like to stay in June. Usually Boulder lodge as they have a usually HOT jacuzzi and the price is reasonable.
  17. I just picked up a 2014 163 pro team. We shall see...
  18. I have no heel lift but there is a bit of movement for sure. Best heel hold I've ever had was using nidecker Carbon bindings. With power plates, yes it's like having bricks attached to your feet. But I do love the dampness it provides once on snow. If bomber could make a binding that incorporated the power plate as the base it would be amazing. Of course it would need to be rear entry. The not quite tight enough feeling without ratcheting is the footbed. It doesn't allow your foot to slip in and out as easily. But the top strap for 2016/17 is ridiculously comfortable compared to my other Nx2 straps. A major improvement to say the least
  19. Have a 2014 163 in very good shape. Vist rash is only noticeable damage
  20. Heel cup is a drag. All bindings with heel cups I will not use. I'll show you my Union factory bindings side by side with some of my FLOWS tonight.
  21. I don't let anyone touch my gear. Maybe a base grind If absolutely necessary. "Don't touch the edges. Don't wax it." I recently received a new board that was a blem and required some over the normal care. In addressing the blem, I neglected to take the base edge bevel to 1* and the board was soooo twitchy, I was disappointed it wouldn't work for me. Put it back on the bench and checked everything and put that 1* on the base and viola! The board rode amazing and predictable. Amazing how twitchy an "edge high" base will ride. I always tune myself and often. That way, you know what you have. You can buy a pawn shop board and practice practice practice. It makes sense to own the tools and know how to use them.
  22. 3/19-3/20. Dates have had to change
  23. I'm using Flow Talon Focus. I am not a fan of the BOA system and each boot has two. One for the upper cuff and one for the foot. I am constantly popping the cuff BOA open. Although the fit is tighter than I might get with traditional laces, I like the reliability of a standard knot over the cable system. The Flow Talon is the stiffest boot in their line up. Hope you like them as much as I do.
