  1. The Bomber by Gumbo site says,"The largest the binding will accomodate is a sole length of 313 (approx mondo 29)." Yes I too was looking at those bindings... Can one have too many?
  2. We can't answer width questions without knowing your boot size. I'm certain there is someone out there ripping in hard boots at a zero degree stance angle on their rear binding. But this is WAY outside of the norm. This is a great place to start. http://beckmannag.com/hardboot-snowboarding/hardboot-binding-configuration
  3. Oh yeah. Great day. Really fun conditions for Paoli. A "new" run opened. Got to ride with my son. AND got to ride with another hardbooter @GeorgeS. Who can ask for more? not me! Moar snow and new run- Yeah we were here-
  4. Damn, that's tempting. Must resist...
  5. I've found I like to run them in a symmetrical setup. That said I do have the bumpers setup quasi asym with hard bumpers (red) under my toes and heels and orange (softer) everywhere else. I've only had a bumper come loose once... so while it looks complex it's surprisingly low maintenance. I'm a raving fan of the Gecko's for riding when everyone with an iota of common sense has packed it up to go home.
  6. Thanks. It's funny... all of the setup, except the Gecko's, is stuff I picked up off the forum. I've got custom boards, newer bindings... I like this one the best, more than any I've ever owned. Go figure. I should take better care of it.
  7. I had forgot that thread @bigwavedave! Here ya' go @barryj (there's a black and white board theme going on)
  8. I've ridden the Geckos for the majority of my riding for the last several years. I'm way past average size and I ride like a goon on meth in all conditions but mostly crappy conditions. I typically get 50+ sessions on the snow per season. Some F2 usage but mostly BP3 SWs standard on plate mount baseplates. The stack height is actually lower than standard BP3s by a fraction. I've never seen any issues from the extender nuts.
  9. Ah the western snow... So soft and smooth... I went back to standards after my step-ins left me in a rental softboot setup a few years back. I can bend over... It's good for me. You can pry my Gecko plates off my board when I'm dead and gone in typical local conditions. When I'm out west who cares!
  10. @Dhkim559 - @STP rides Snoqualmie (Central), his son carves as well. Might be another point of contact.
  11. Another great day at Paoli boarding with ANOTHER hardbooter. The man with a connection from Columbus @Mike Blanz came BACK with his son. Another smooth rider... Conditions were even better than Thursday... Still variable in spots but much better overall. SHOCKING! Is Paoli Peaks going legit? Is this the Vail Co. touch? Crowds weren't unbearable so I stayed until a little before 1500 when it started to rain. It's snowing hard here in Bloomington as I type this... 50 miles and a world of difference.
  12. Just remember all the traffic. The road in... The parking... The lift lines... See Paoli isn't so bad, mwahahahahA! She definitely should pay for your lift ticket!
  13. I've now ridden with yet another hardbooter at Paoli. Do they not read this thread? Do they not heed my warnings? Still they come... Is it the challenge? Have they lost the will to live? It's out of my hands dear reader... Big thanks to @GeorgeS for coming to Paoli and creating those fine lines with his Donek MK. Conditions were typical Paoli... Unexpected and variable. That said definitely above average with actual snow, below freezing temps, and variable groom quality. Hey this is Paoli Peaks... I'm not going to sugarcoat it and risk @bobble showing up. Crowds were light and no one closed off anything for a racecourse. There were even hints of Minnesota firm in some places but not that firm... this is Indiana after all. I had fun and I think @GeorgeS did as well. Also rode with my son so extra bonus!!! Rode the 179 Donek freecarver with "secret" construction I stole off @nitro. That board is so fun hope you are doing well! THis iS YoUR FiNAl WaRNiNG! 300' of vert 1 minute down 5 minutes up Variable conditions Narrow trails with ill defined borders You've been warned, STAY AWAY, save yourself!
  14. Why do I love the retro look hiding the modern tech... so much. Like a Ringbrother's retromod...
  15. LOL, they are blowing as well... tomorrow could be interesting. @GeorgeS Park by the red x and enter up the concrete steps where the arrow points. The whole COVID thing has the traffic flow all FUBAR. This is the way.
  16. I'm sorry my advice was not clear. I was suggesting to join racing to have access to the race courses not to race. As long as you finish (so the timer can be reset) you could do whatever the heck you want after you leave the starting gates. Tell them you're afraid of hitting gates and you left your armor at home or your just interpreting the course and carve from beginning to end.
  17. So the cam facing the tubing area is working- https://www.paolipeaks.com/the-mountain/mountain-conditions/mountain-cams.aspx Ummmnn, that's WAY more than a couple of inches and it's still coming down. I'll bet there's at least 6 to 8" of fresh on that hill right now... I will be packing my powder nose Coiler as well as my regular! I need to mount some bindings on that sucker! Gotta get busy!!! What a crazy season....
