  1. Smilin Dave there is a newly listed 172 tanker on this forum right now and for 200.00. Better snap this up.
  2. Ordered bails from Bomber and i had them 2 days after they were shipped! I will be doing this again for another pair of bindings soon.
  3. Togaperk the AX is at sale pending status right now as I have talked to someone local about buying it and they are sound like they are going to buy it. If that deal falls through I will change from sale pending to up for sale again. The ax or axcess as it is called now is designed for hard boot riding. I think it is too narrow for soft boots. Most soft boot boards have a 26cm waist and the ax has a 21.5 waist. I would reccomend something else if you want to soft boot carve. almost any softboot board with standard camber will work. the ax is an all-around board for hardboot riding.
  4. Does a board with metal construction break down faster than a glass board if you are riding all mountain? not expecting a board to last forever but just wondering if the metal board has a shorter lifespan on average?
  5. I forgot to put the photo back for the base of the f2 but it is there now. also I forgot to mention that the f2 was ridden with a plate a little bit. the plate was a Kessler k plate. the base on the f2 has been ground. thank you west Carven for asking about this. There is some scuffing on the topsheet of the f2 from using the plate.
  6. I have made the pictures bigger. I tried to take new pictures that are more detailed but my camera won't work close up to get the entire base or topsheet of the boards? I would imagine I would need a better camera to do this as mine is only a 40.00 one? i have to stand back away from the boards to get the whole image. I think this is the best I can do?
  7. F2 speedster 158 waist 19 or 19.5 sidecut 9? 150.00 only ridden by me a couple of days. Has had a base grind when I bought it and is in good shape Donek AX 172 250.00 sidecut 10.5 m waist 21.5 base and edges in good shape only ridden a few days by me. it was purchased new a few years ago but I have not ridden it much. I prefer shorter boards for all mountain and that is the only reason why I am selling it. td3 2nd board kit Bp version 90.00 bought new used 1 hour has o degree discs this is only to be used with a plate not for direct mounting on a board. I can accept pay pal for payment or if you live in Denver,CO or Summit county we could arrange to meet to buy? I am not interested in doing international shipping. US only
  8. are you riding angles that are too steep on the metal board? if you have large feet you might have to ride steep angles?if your feet are small and you are angled foward too much you will not have enough leverage to ride properly. Are you used to the glass board more because it is not as wide? If the waist is 18 cm and the metal board is 20 or 20.5 that will make a difference. Also are your boots too soft? You will lose leverage as well. I found on my Dupraz powder board that I like my stiffer boots on it. I lose too much response with a soft hard boot. I rode it in soft slush last spring and did not want to go back to softer boots. the Dupraz is wide for me with a 26 cm waist and the nose is much wider than that. I only have size 25 boots in a UPZ. Is your metal board a demo that was ridden a lot before you bought it? Some of the metal demo boards were ridden by racers maybe a lot and real hard? I would check your set up first and see if that would help? Most racers are riding flatter angles on the new race boards to have more leverage and balance.
  9. What you might do is buy a new pair of hardboots since you said that your boots are shot. you could still use your race plates if they are not worn out? If the bindings are still in good shape you could buy new toe and heel bails for them as the bails might need replacement . you can order bails from Bomber. If you have more than 50 days on those bindings you should probably buy new bails for them. the Burton bindings are still being made but they are called Ibex bindings now. the Burton/Ibex bindings work great for all mountain riding. I have 2 pairs of them and like the light weight and lateral flex. the new bails are supposed to be better as they are heat treated to flex better and last longer. the ibex company recomends replacing bails after 50 days still. I ride with a Pureboarding stance which is 51 front and about 38 rear. the board is a Pureboarding Bastard 162 and the waist width is 23 cm. that board is super fun for riding everwhere and carving. Bomber sells the Pureboarding boards. they have a good description of them on this site. there is a ski area I think Berskshire east which has these boards for demo? You might investigate demoing one of theses boards? The Pureboarding crew goes to aspen for the session in Feburary and gives free clinics and has boards to demo. also they did some clinics on the east coast last year as well. I think Bomber will be doing eces this year so maybe Sean will going out there with donek boards and you could demo boards from him and other companies as well as ride with other hardboot riders? Good luck and we hope you find some gear that works.
  10. thank you for the info jim! I will be ordering soon.
  11. thanks for the info. I will order from bomber which is what I wanted to do in the first place. I looked a while ago and it looked like they were out of stock on those parts? This was before the changeover. I hope they will continue to stock Ibex parts?
  12. i am thinking Carvers Paradise? Has anyone ordered from them before.?Iwant to get the new ones as they are supposed to be better than old Burton ones?
  13. i can't imagine a bx board being good for deep powder? You would not need a splitboard unless you will be riding backcountry and hiking for your turns. I would reccomend a dupraz for a good all purpose board that excells in powder. You can ride it with hard or soft boots .There are many videos on you tube about the Dupraz. You can buy a Dupraz at All board sports in Boulder,CO. watch the videos as there are reviews of the board and riding in both hard and soft boots. i have been riding one since 2003.I only ride mine on powder days or a slushy spring day as i have other boards to ride. I do like the Dupraz the best for powder and slush.
  14. Thank you for this info! i will de doing this to my boots as the stock screws tend to seize up and it is real easy to strip the heads as the hex head is very small. Not a problem wit UPZ as the bolt is bigger like this.
  15. Not even a reason stated for dropping psl? I hope this is not a sign to drop gs as well?
  16. Ablapia are you going to ride at Abasin again before the season is over? I am planning on going up a few more times before it is done. i might be able to help you out a litlte bit? I have sundays and Wensdays off . I might be able to meet you up there on a sunday? If I can't do it there are a few riders that ride at the Basin on Saturday and Sunday. you might post on the ride board when you will be riding next? i have next week off for vacation May 18-25 I am planning on riding some during the week and might go up on Memorial day weekend? If it stays warm enough for the snow to soften? Are you using heat moldable liners in your boots? that can solve some problems with sore feet. a good video to watch on you tube is lessons in alpine snowboard carving by Snowy tom. He does lots of different turns. I watch this to remind myself what to keep working on. that video that B free posted is good as well. watch the snowy tom video and start out doing the ankle turns on a green slope. this will get you moving the board around doing small turns at slow speed. are you riding with both boots locked/?You might try riding with your rear boot in walk mode but keep your front boot locked. this will give you more range of motion in the rear leg. I assume you are using hardshell snowboarding boots ? ski boots would be harder to learn in unless they are modified for more flex. I am not an expert level rider but I am willing to help. Let us know if you will be returning to the Basin as we would love to help you. I also could bring up an all mountain board for you to ride that might be easier for you to use? If the swoard is a 175 it might be better to ride on a 163 all mountain to start?
  17. Do you know whether or not you are bow legged or knock kneeded or not? I did not pay attention to this and once I realized I am bow legged I changed my set up to both bindings flat and outward cant on the rear boot.the outward cant can be adjusted with the boot. It is working better. I have been riding for many years without making this change. To check this stand up with both ankles touching and see if your knees touch as well. in my case there is a huge space between my knees when I do this and I have to force them together to get them to touch. Just do this on the floor in regular shoes or in your bare feet. I can't believe i did not check this? My rear ankle was hurting from time to time and now it does not hurt. i have been ridng hardboots for over 20 years and never checked for this. Have to laugh about it. i just happened to read an article about it this year and I also talked to a friend of mine who is a good alpine rider and he uses outward cant as he is bow legged as well.

    A-Basin

Has anyone been to the Basin in the last couple of days? I was considering going up tommorow? 4/12 2015 Is it still packed powder or is it frozen up hard?
  19. I would contact f2 about this as they might be able to help you with this? If the binding is warping that is not good. Maybe a new bail would have to be built to get the Norhtwave and other boots to sit down lower? I would send the picture that you have sent here.
  20. Thank you monk for the help on the pictures. I will do this later in the week as I have to work extra hours this week.
  21. Items still for sale: Dupraz d1 F2 speedster stiffer Donek metal 184 gs prototype td3 2nd board kit bp version I will try to post pictures but I may not be able to do so because I have a Mac computer and am not smart enough to do this. If I can't post pictures I realize this will make this unfair to buyers on this site. I guess If I cannot post pictures I should probably delete this ad. i will see what I can do?
  22. What do you mean by flat edges? Did they feel like they were dull and would not hold on hard snow?
  23. For an all mountain carving board available in Europe you might consider the Pureboarding boards. They are wider and allow a shallow angle in the rear foot and are made to handle any snow condition. You can read about them in the Bomber store. You could contact Joerg on the Pureboarding site to see if you could demo one? There is a world carving session in Europe that is going on in March. Maybe you could go to that as they will have lots of demos to try. I have a Pureboarding Bastard and it is a great board. Joerg might be giving a how to ride clinc at the world carving session? I went to his clinic at SES this year and it was great!
  24. I went ahead yesterday with flat bindings and outward cant on the rear foot using the boot adjustment for the outward cant. Felt very good and I am going to ride this for a while. I have ridden on flat bindings before but not outward cant. Did not feel weird at all. I think it is better.
  25. Are skwals harder to ride than an alpine board/? Is it harder to ride on hard snow ? I almost demoed one but did not.
