  1. Has anyone tried using BTS on the rear boot only? I was thinking of trying this as I thought bTS on both boots was too much movement but maybe it would work well to use it only on the rear?
  2. I think at Copper mountain a couple of years ago a snowboard race team did film their training runs with a drone. this was early in the morning before the ski area was open to the public and the drone was flown by someone who was not skiing or snowboarding. I would guess that they had special permission to do this along with special permission to train early.
  3. thank you for Bastard info. I still think it might feel too wide for me as I only ride a 26 boot.Iwould not fly a drone at a usa ski slope as there might be restrictions on that now? if the FAA gets its way with the rules it is proposing all r/c flight will be regulated and aircraft will have to go through FAA inspection. of course this will require a fee for each inspection and every pilot will have to buy a flight license as well. I would imagine this will be expensive and complicated which will force me to quit flying r/c airplanes. If you are flying fpv it might be a real big problem? I think it is a felony to fly fpv without a commercial license? I am not fully informed about this ? Damn US government. you might ask Sean about custom boards as he can do whatever you want?
  4. How do you like the Pureboarding bastard? I was considering buying one? easy to ride? Doe it feel like it is too wide?
  5. Are those heels the old style that are realy soft and spongy? that might be why you broke the shell? Bomber makes a replacement heel that is stiffer that I use.The soft lower heel could allow the boot to flex sideways a lot more which loads the shell more.
  6. Closing day at Loveland is Sunday5-4.I will be there and there should be some other folks as well. You could go to a Basin on Saturday if you wanted or Loveland both days?Should be some one up at Loveland both Saturday and Sunday.
  7. You might call all board sports in boulder to see if he has any Catek free rides in stock as he has been a Catek dealer for a long time. He has lots of stiffer soft boot bindings as well.303-415-1600 You would need to get the Catekfree ride with carbon fiber highbacks to get the most stiffness.nidecker used to make a soft binding with carbon fiber high backs which might still be available?I rode the free frides for a little while and then went back to hardboots for good full time.
  8. Since you are in Europe check out the website Pureboarding. The boards they make are very versatile. There are places to demo boards I think? There are videos showing all forms of alpine riding and a schedule of events to try out gear.
  9. as long as the board is in good shape go ahead and ride it. I am riding a Hot spot andsome Burton alps as well. The rossi boards were said to wear out faster because of the foam core but go ahead and ride it if it works for you and have fun! Old boards can be fun.
  10. Other boards that work well in moguls-Burton Alp 163, Burton Edeck 163 or Prior 4wd in shorter lengths 164. I like a shorter board in moguls as it is less work to manage especialy on steeper terrain. Another board that would probably work well would be the pureboarding boards. I would agree that Dupraz is a little harder to ride in bumps as I have the longer Dupraz D1 fun but not the best choice for moguls. the only problem with Burton is you need a 3 hole disc to fit the inserts but that is not too much of a problem.
  11. You might check with Fin to see if he can get you these pads as they sell the Ibex binding which is the same as the Burton race plate.
  12. Why not just ride your f2 bindings on the Kessler?
  13. I have found a solution. I installed some vinyl tubing on the heel bails and now I have a better fit with out being too tight or too loose.I used1/4" vinyl tubing from home depot and cut it down the middle so that it will slip over the bails and I secured it with black electrical tape so that it can be removed if it wears out of for any other reason. The 1/4'' tubing is about a perfect fit over the bail wire.
  14. Thank you Don! This is not a big hurry as I would be putting inserts in a Hooger Booger asym board from the 90's and have plenty of other boards to ride. I would pay you for parts used. I got your number from the email and will be calling you at sometime to discuss this.
  15. I found it. Tognar sells the bit and the inserts.
  16. I am thinking about buying a Wintersteiger insert kit but where can you get them?
  17. Keep this thread going as I like to remember what asyms I used to ride although I got to demo a Virus asym race board not too long ago that was new production. I might take the hooger Booger that I have now and install inserts on it so that I could ride it again.
  18. If your toe is lifting you might not have the bindings adjusted right? Your heel might wiggle just a tiny bit but your toe should not lift. You can use Bomber butter on the screws to allow you to tighten them better and they will stay tight better and wont snap and creak when you tighten them and loosen them. I always check screw tightness before everyday of riding. It only takes a few seconds to take your wrench and check all of the screws.
  19. I will am using a deluxe lemans boot with the Bomber heel and toe which is stiffer than the stock soles that come with the boots. I am going to try monodude's suggestion because at the tighter setting it is way too tight and at the next setting it is too loose. It would be nice if the Burton binding was like my Nidecker in that the blocks slide back and forth and can be moved verylittle to adjust tension where the Burton has to go to the next hole pattern which could be to far in or out depending on your boot shell. 3 and 3 is too tight and 3 on the heel and 4 on the toe is too loose. The instructions for the Ibex binding say that you should run the same numbers to keep the boot centered but if I went to 4 and 4 it would be way off. Maybe they were designed to work best with Burton hardboots?
  20. Too scary. I have always had respect for anyone that runs the lifts and works on them to keep them safe. Well worth your lift ticket price just for this not to mention other work that is done at ski areas to make them safer.
  21. thank you for the tip. I did not think about doing that. I may get some vinyl tubing to install on the heel bails. Hope to see you on the hill again this year!
  22. I have a pair of Burton raceplates and if I set them on 3 on the heel and on the toethey are too tight and if I set them on 4 on the toe and 3 on the heel they might be a little loose but they are not way too loose? I don't want them to be too tight as I am afraid I will be over cranking the toe levers.
  23. I rode intec for a while and have switched back to bail bindings because I like what they do for me. I felt that intec is too stiff andwhen you get off balance it is harder to make adjustments. You would have to try bail bindings again to see if you like what they do for you? I feel that bail bindings are much better when you are riding on variable conditions as well. No more intec heels to break either. I will be keeping an eye on my bails and replacing them occasionaly to avoid breakage although bindings today are much better than they were years ago. I have ridden many versions of both intec and bail bindings over the years. Of course in the early days all you could ride were bail bindings.
  24. You could contact Bryan Sutherland through this forum to find out what this board might be worth from a collectible standpoint as he is would know. He is one of the moderators as well. I used to ride a antigravity with elfgen plates years ago.
