  1. we had a thunder storm, the other day....
  2. My buddy and i actually tried to do this last year when we saw some squirrels. they were digging in the snow for some reason. my buddy manage to skid across one, but no carnage. it was burrowed in, too well
  3. after going to be lift to confront the tele-mark skier that collided with me. "i saw you cutting over but i didn't think you were going to go that far over" (he was up hill) after telling my boss that i had to bite my tongue because he's a regular there (i'm a lifty at this hill btw), he said that as long as i'm not wearing my name tag, i can say any thing i find necessary.
  4. i might go back up to spirit next week, but other than that, i'm most certainly done for the year. :(
  5. what kinda work needs to be down on the car? what kinda car?
  6. there grooming really got a lot better from the beginning of the year, when i was a joke. but yeah, will the slop that we have now, it might still be possible
  7. i don't know french but got it looked like he was riding through some real crud
  8. Me to a guy on a true mono ski Me: what is that! skier: it's a mono ski Me: i thought i was on a mono ski! skier: no, thats a alpine board they really have to put out the same jokes as us in the lift line saw a guy walk to the lift line with a old burton asym Me: hey what is that board? guy: it's a alpine board Me: [looking down at my donek] i know... guy: oh!!! (then he told me the model that i can't remember the name of)
  9. how do you make a board hop between turns? i've done it a few times on accident, but i'm not really sure how i did it.
  10. i started on axxess too. great starter. cheap, too. (used, that is)
  11. i don't understand what ramp slalom is....
  12. I going to be having a open practice with snowboard gates this sunday morning on hill 7. Nothing too elaborate, just setting up some snowboard gates, for a change of pace. I think their will be a few of my soft booting buddys out there to give it a shot, and maybe to convert over to at least a carving stance :p i'll be out their to start setting it up at about open (9), and hopefully have it set up by 930. We'll probably keep it set up till about 12ish. Like i said open to any one. just show up, hit it, and say hello
  13. i'll be there sunday morning. I'm making a thread about it, right now, if you still want to help.
  14. i stuffed the nose a few weeks ago and went well over the handle bars. it still hurts, if i bump it, but it doesn't hurt to ride on.... game on! btw, Donek axxess has a really soft nose
  15. i'm not saying he can go through rutted up icy crud but i was say that he's not exactly limited to fresh groomer. I think simply be aware of the conditions he's riding would be most important. Like i said, don't disagree with steve. but yeah, i should've been more clear
  16. i wanna say i heard the record was 125 mph, and it was a volkl rentiger.... that just sounds familiar
  17. Not to go against your judgement, because it is a good call, but seeing that he has metal board, he probably wont need to be too picky (especially if it's a new donek metal). but yeah, be at least aware or the groom. Snowrider: i wish your signature was a sicker.
  18. I got out there around 11 today. i started on chair 7 wearing just a sweat shirt. The snow was firm and seemed like it would not let go at all! after going down 4 or 5 times i saw trent, and greg(?). Trent had a kick ass new coiler, which was really pretty, and looked like it rode even better. After saying hello to trent, i went down the hill again, when disaster struck; Tele-douche was back, again, and this time he wasn't showing mercy. I have absolutely no clue where he came from, but he managed to plow right into me. He said he was sorry, but i can't help but wonder how sorry he was when he trying to play it off as my fault at first. All i told him was down hill has the right of way. I was pretty furious. After that i went to the high lands to take care of some things for work, and to get some ice for my hand, which i injured in my encounter with tele-douche. i met 2 ladys while getting ice, one of which was hot, so i'll call the tele-douche incident a blessing in disguise. (got numbers) i rode around in the high lands for a little bit with them, when i noticed that high land snow was starting to get soft (i never went down 16, however). At about 1 i went back to 7 and then 2. the snow there was still excellent on those hills. at this point it had become so warm out that all i needed was a t-shirt. it was so awesome. Went back to 7 for a little bit, and rocked it. Then back to the high lands only to find the snow was crap, now. So i left. I'd say i was riding at about 80% all day, and the conditions were a 9/10 for the most part. making the day a 8.5 out of ten. (surprisingly tele-fag didn't really upset my day that much)
  19. i've ridden a '89 kemper race in soft boots with a duck stance. best board ever. i have a old F2 speedster 186, and although i'm not big enough for it, the first few times i rode that is when i had my real break thrus. it's much narrower than my donek axxess, and i think that fact alone is what helped me get my butt in the right place, on heel sides. i ride better on all boards because of that board
  20. you could try using abs putty, but i wouldn't. i'd say it's time for a new pair of boots
  21. kid: "how fast can you go on those?" buddy: "about 100mph. how fast can you go on yours?" kid: "[long pause] about 20" me: "you gotta take the governor off" kid: "how do i do that?" Me: "you just take it too the ski shop. they'll take care of it"
  22. yeah dude, if you wanna help, that'd be great. i'm gonna talk to Nathan tomorrow, and make sure it works. (him and i have already talked about this) i'm gonna be gunning for sunday morning (7th?), which isn't really your day, but let me know
  23. It got very frustrating, actually. Aaron, and i left at 3. i wasted my "A" game in the hylands i think, too :( but that was fine; i've had plenty of good runs this year on steeper hills... and more people got to see Aaron and i absolutely destroy the hills this way. :p i too had a near accidental tree run, but thanks to a quick, swift cross though, fallowed by a tight, coat dragging turn, i simply turned the error into eye candy for the chair i was right underneath. by 2:30 there were too many people on 7 (de's?) trying to teach there kids to learn to ski, and 2 was just too soft. This in, combination with my fatigue, made us decide to pack it up and head home. overall i'd give the day a 7 out of 10
