  1. i would be very interested. No one asked me to set up gates, but i talked to the race director, at afton, and he said if i wanted to get 10 or so people together some morning before nastar, and set up a gs practice course, he'd be happy to support us with the idea. I've never run SB gates before, and i guess talking to you about it a few weeks ago just kinda got me excited. Plus the down hill nastar gates are just kinda a bummer cause they're so much taylor'd for skiing
  2. what is that little virus? it's cute. ridable? i have a F2 speedster rs 186. i find that on a steep enough hill, it will turn just as sharp as my donek axxess 177. i just need to lay down in my turns more, which i'm much more comfortable doing on my f2, then my donek, for some reason. At lower speeds though, yeah, the f2 is quite a handful. I would just start it on a blue square run, and go from there. as soon as you start making turns you'll know exactly how that board wants to be ridden
  3. have you ever seen the soft booter with the carving stance who rides with the american flag helmet? he's definitely a space ball i got buzzed by tele-douche once, as well
  4. how is it that i was there from 12 to 330 and then had a round 2, myself, from 5 to 8 and i only saw you once? it definitely got harder once the sun went down.
  5. "the parallel giant slalom has to be set as follows: 11-15% of the vertical drop in meters = number of turns by rounding up or down into the nearest decimal number the recommended distance between gates should be 20 to 25 meters" can some body tell me what this means? dual over head cams: the replacement for displacement i like your rope idea btw
  6. just curious, flashby, are you on a automotive forum, as well?
  7. i guess i'll give it a shot. i was just kinda looking for a quick, cheap solution... i already cut some stomp pads to fit, and put them on...
  8. i wasn't even going to try getting on from catek. i'll head to my local board shop today, and see if i can get a good stop pad like that... otherwise i was think of carving a eraser to fit in there
  9. lol, this was all inspired by be getting sick for running nastar gates :p were would i get a ussa rule book?
  10. i've never done it before, and i might have too, soon. any tips?
  11. nope... My board had a weird wave in the top sheet. and i was fooling around with binding position, today, and there wasn't enough support underneath the elastomer, so it fell out the stupid thing is that i didn't even like the position change so i only rode the board down about 5 midwest runs before i switched boards :(
  12. i first time i ever wore a helmet, fell and landed on my head.... in my first ever GS race
  13. so i lost one of the elastomer tongue while riding today. Do i really need it? Any ideas for a make shift replacement?
  14. you think you can use snowboard boots on snowblades? (short skies) they bail system is the exact same.... thoughts, comments?
  15. i don't think so. i don't think rocker boards have much of a advantage in the pipe
  16. i saw it happen if you'd like me to go into detail... parent mode? 8 carvers, actually! Claytin, Cody, and Claytins wife were out in hard boots later in the night, too! i like that song, scott!
  17. i'll be out with some buddys near open tomorrow.
  18. i have the same boot and all the same problems, but no alternative liners.... foam is your friend  oh a side note, i saw 2 hard booters today, who weren't scott, while i was working lifts at afton (can't wait till next year when i'm a mountain host)
  19. Best one i've heard yet "So can you do rails and boxes on that?" (from a instructor) "No" "Oh" [disappointment]
  20. i just turned 20 on the 10th, but i started hard booting last year. and i rode aggressive freestyle for 8 years before that.
  21. Well after noon crowed is a bit of a over statement, but yeah it did start getting soft. So soft that i couldn't really guild my stiffer F2 as well as i could with my softer Axxess (first time i've ever experienced a issue like that/first time the F2 has failed me). I noticed that my soft booter friends' carving was starting to really come to him as it got warmer, too. Altogether though i'd say the snow held up pretty well, until i left, at about 330, before the flat light set in. Days like today have made me feel really satisfied with how far my hard booting has come in the last few weeks...
  22. your not referring to andy jones by chance are you? btw trimmed the spacers, and they work great!
