  1. If that Kessler only has UPM, then you will be required to run a plate of some sort to mount bindings. I really like my TD3 SW, I have 3 sets of them. I was riding UPZ boots last year in TD3 SW with no fitment problems. For my size 26 boots, I did have to flip the toe and heel blocks since UPZ has a really small footprint compared to other boots. It bears repeating, make sure your heel & toe blocks are t-nutted.
  2. Elk burger at Deschutes public brew house. Amazing.
  3. Answering another question publicly regarding sizing for the benefit of selling these boots FAST! There are a few numbers embossed on the shell near the heel. "5,5/6/6,5" and "287mm". 287mm appears to be the length of the boot shell toe to heel. And I would assume that "5,5/6/6,5" means the boot will fit from a 25.5 to 26.5 mondo liner. I would really like to sell these quickly so I can purchase my airfare to Aspen for SES this year. Thanks.
  4. Bump. I'd really like to sell these.
  5. One option may be to throw some plates and hard boots on your current board. I put a hard boot to my old Burton and nearly folded the board in half that's how much more power I had over the edge. Get some snow time with one item from your system changed. Play with the angles, get comfortable with the increase in edge power, then try to demo a few boards. There's actually a lot of people riding long and stiff freeride boards in hard boots and they carve pretty damn good.
  6. Olympic lifting and the associated training! If you're not in a lifting program already, then Crossfit will work out great. Not Crossfit "style" or "boot camp" in the park, Crossfit from a top notch affiliate. It has worked wonders on my ability to be strong and competent at many disciplines of fitness. Another program is Jim Wendler's 5-3-1 program. Basic strength via compound lifts and multi-plane movements is key. Another thing I've incorporated is calcifying the shin bone. Take 6-12 wire hangers, cut the bottoms off them, wrap some tape around the bundle at one end and start lightly tapping your shins with the other end, holding the taped end. This will create micro fractures in your shin and the bone will grow back more dense. It will also help deaden your nerves so you can tolerate more pressure. I did this on my forearms and shins for martial arts training and it hass helped with early season shin discomfort. The seasons I don't do this are the seasons I get shin bang for a month, go figure.
  7. Dibs. Please send me payment info.
  8. The foot bed has nothing to do with the molding, the bottom of the liners are just fabric, no foam. The molding is all around the top of the foot, ankle, calf and shin areas. That's something that your son will have to figure out for himself. Working with a qualified boot fitter and tuner will work wonders.
  9. Hi Lisa, I read your PM. For the benefit of others, I'll respond to your questions publicly. You certainly can buy a new/different liner for the boots, however, I'm not sure how many sizes up or down you can go with these shells and various liners. These liners can certainly be molded one more time and probably molded a few more times after that. They have 4 molds total, (1 from the previous owner and 3 from me, once for each year I used them). I would absolutely, 100%, recommend a custom foot bed for these boots or any boots that you buy. The SuperFeet heat molded ones are excellent for the price. The corroded hardware is the t-nuts in the soles, directly behind the screws to hold the toe and heel blocks in place. It's not difficult to replace the hardware, it's just time consuming to unscrew the tongue to get access into the foot of the boot, then re-assemble. They corroded because the snow here in the spring is really wet and I spent a lot of days boarding last spring. I hope that answers your questions.
  10. Just as the title says. I bought these in 2010 from the classified section and I have a few light use seasons in these boots. Maybe 50 days total for the last 3 years. I have remolded the liners 3 times, once each year of use and there appears to be plenty of life left in the liners. Some of the hardware could use some love. I saw some corrosion on the t-nuts in the toe block area but it's a pain in the ass to replace and I'm selling the boots so I don't want to deal with it. There is also white Husky hair in the velcro. I bought them for $275 and will sell them for $250 insured shipping included to the lower 48. Canadian shipping is possible too.
  11. I see a lot of people pining over MADD boards. What's so great about them?
  12. You should post this in the classified section under "Want to Buy"
  13. Thanks! Anytime we are both on the same mountain, my boards are open to demo. It was the "Buy a a Rev, get a Saber for free" sale. Thankfully, I'm single and I don't have to justify my purchase or hide it.
  14. Two newish boards for this season: A BIG board for my height and weight, but Sean said it should be fun since it's all carbon, super light and softer in flex. And my board to use when I have to hang out with my soft boot friends while they hit the trees and general crappy afternoon snow. So the quiver contains: Donek Rev 185 Carbon Donek Saber 160 Glass Donek Proteus 170 metal Coiler VSR FC 169 metal F2 Silberpfeil 162 Dynastar 3800 163 Burton Supermodel 163 Oxygen Proton 149 (for the cute girls on the mountain to try) That's a lot of boards.
  15. Mountain Collective here, but I'll be at Mammoth almost every weekend if the conditions are good.
  16. BlueB, thanks for the info. What do you guys think of discount/discontinued boots? I get coupons for Sierra Trading Post and these boots have some good comments on the internet regarding their weight and AT flex. Any collective opinion on the flex as it relates to hard booting or if anybody has experience with these boots? http://www.sierratradingpost.com/garmont-helium-at-ski-boots-dynafit-compatible-g-fit-liner-for-men~p~4213a/?filterString=ski-boots~d~205%2Fspecdataor~recommended%20use%3Balpine%20touring%2Fsizefamily~mondo%3B26%2Fmens-alpine-ski-boots~d~5180%2F&colorFamily=01
  17. How important is BTS? The reason I'm asking is I am in the market for new boots, and I can see AT boots as an alternative, but most AT boots are either locked into a single position or in walk mode. What is the benefit of an AT boot over a snowboard boot if I will be staying on the lifts 99% of the time?
  18. Nice detective work. It seems that $125 plus shipping is a fair price.
  19. I just want to add to this thread that JC is a good person to buy from. I bought a Dynastar 3800 from him recently. The transaction was easy, the price was very fair, the board was exactly as described and the packaging was very sturdy and it arrived quickly.
  20. Currently 5 in the quiver. Looking for a BX type board to add. Oxygen Proton 149 - for the cute girls in the lift line to try Burton Supermodel 163 - rock board Dynastar 3800 162 - hoping for powder F2 Silberpfeil 162 - for those crowded days Coiler VSR 169 - a great all-arounder Donek Proteus 170 - for when I'm feeling good
  21. Email sent! And is this a glass, carbon, or Titanal/carbon construction board.
  22. I'm looking for a 3 or 6 degree TD3 cant disc/ring. If you want to trade, let me know, the one I have is like brans new, no scratches or corrosion so the one I trade for should be in similar condition. Thanks.
  23. Last week the snow was holding up until about 12 ish. Turned really lumpy and massive slow pockets started forming in the afternoon. Your only hope is the race courses are closed off in the AM and opens up around 11am, so you can have a few fresh runs to choose from in the later morning. I'm thinking of going up this weekend, but I'm not super thrilled about the conditions at the bottom (sandy).
