  1. Where is SoCal/OC are you located? Would you consider a trade for a different board or other equipment?
  2. Sure! I'll sell mine for $1,200, shipping included.
  3. I second or even third the motion for the Coiler VSR. I have a 169 Free Carve with the XT turn package and it fits the bill for me. I take a few boards to the mountain with me and if I don't want to change boards or I don't know what the conditions are like, I ride the Coiler. It handles the morning corduroy like a champ, surfy powder puffs are no problem, it skids just fine and is very maneuverable since it has decambered tip and tail. It's also considerable lighter than another board I have of similar size, so jump turning is easier. All my other boards sit on the sidelines waiting for the proper conditions for me to ride them. If I had the financial ability, I'd buy more Coilers.
  4. Bumping and reducing price, $350 plus shipping.
  5. Thanks for the local intel. I'm going to try to get out and ride early in the AM, but the whiskey is flowing tonight. Look for an alpine boarder wearing a neon green helmet, mustard yellow jacket and blue or white pants. Come say "hi". I'll update this thread with weather and snow conditions at the end of the day since I don't have cellular data.
  6. Hey neighbors up north! I'm going to be in town with a lot of soft boot friends for the weekend and I'm looking for some local intel on runs to ride and avoid. I'm bringing both soft and hard boots. I'm hoping I can stay hard all day (pun intended). I'm also looking for local riders to ride with. I'm planning on riding Friday, Saturday and Monday. Sunday is dog sledding and zip lining. I can be contacted privately through the email feature and will share my phone number then. Hope to see some alpine boards this weekend...
  7. I can't wait to get some comments on my O-Sin 4807. I had my Dynastar 3800 out as an afternoon crud buster and people were like "WHOA! And old school powder board!" It's true that it's "old school" being over 10 years old.
  8. in the mid 90's when I learned to board, my snowboard instructor was wearing hard boots. After the 2 hour lesson I asked about the difference in equipment and I was given a demo. From that point on that's all I could think about.
  9. good reference here... http://www.alpinecarving.com/binding_setup.html For stance width some people use: shoulder width inseam x .607 (Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man) distance from knee cap to floor
  10. Looks like shipping will be anywhere from $26 to $38: UPS Ground = $26 USPS Priority 2 day = $38 If you wanted insurance and other bells and whistles, those are obviously extra. Let me know what you want to do, I take PayPal, Chase QuickPay, and Amazon Payments
  11. Sorry for the delay, I didn't see your reply to my ad. I will calculate the shipping costs tonight. THanks
  12. I got the opposite from a female liftie, "Is that harder than snowboarding?" My response was "It IS snowboarding! Seriously, it's more difficult than sliding around, and way more rewarding!". I received a compliment from another hard booter in Mammoth. "I saw your turns from the chair, looks really good." That was after I came up to him and asked him if "that" was a ski board and why he's wearing ski boots. And from a freestyle boarder... "I bet that thing is sick in powder!" referring to my Proteus. And from another liftie that knew what was up.. "Nice! a carving board... hurry up and get up there so you can get your turns in before it gets crowded." He was ushering me to the front of the line. Yeah, that was kind of nice.
  13. *** SOLD *** Only 5 days riding on these, most days were 1/2 days. No modifications to the shells at all, no punching, no drilling, no filing, no grinding. The liners were molded once. I have additional "race" tongues and an extra set of medium and small cuff straps as spare parts that are included ($99 value). The liner was molded once. Please follow the link below the image to see the photo gallery. I'm looking for $350 plus the shipping costs. Track 225 by breeseomatic, on Flickr
  14. These look like the predecessor to the RTR which are the predecessor to the RC-10, which are race boots. Below is the tongue stiffness guide, from the UPZ site. Red - soft 100 flex tongue set Black - medium 120 flex tongue set Silver - stiff 140 flex tongue set Dark Grey - super stiff 160 flex tongue set. These would be a different boot than the Deeluxe, the sole length will be much smaller so you can't easily swap from one boot to another on the same board to compare.
  15. Received the boots as shown/described in a nicely packed box.
  16. Probably not breaking any rules per-se, but it was damn annoying. Especially when one has alerts and subscriptions set. If post count was the goal, then the posts can be put in one thread. If causing a ruckus for a day was the goal, what's the point? The thread messages I read had little or no value to the thread content.
  17. I sent an email to OldSnowboards, I wonder what will happen next?
  18. Kind of funny that most of the thread posts are one liners, with little to no value.
  19. I feel that I need to work on angling my torso on heel side turns. It feels like I'm doing the sit in the toilet maneuver and I'm really afraid to see photographic or video evidence of this. I definitely experienced a more positive feeling arc while turning my head to look through the turns more, instead of down the fall line.
  20. Check the Southern California Ride section of the forum for Mammoth/June/Mt High announcements. I think the Sierra Nevada Expression Session is in March. That will be fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Oh, I'm interested. What's the shipping charges to 91505?
  22. Bomber has them. Look in the binding parts section of the website. Ibex are the same as burton. http://bomberonline.3dcartstores.com/Ibex-Parts_c_50.html At these prices, you may be better off buying another set of old bindings and keeping yours for spare parts. 23. Going with a damp, multi-sidecut, metal board with decambered tip and tail as your first board is a good option. A metal Ax is $350 more than the regular Axxess, that's a lot of beer.
  24. I'll try to make it out to June on Saturday to get some turns in with you guys. Slopestar, I'll send you a text when I pull into the parking lot.
