These bindings were at least 10 years old and the toe/heel blocks were last inspected 5 years ago. Used about 10 days per season?

Yea you can see the T nuts bent in the angle of the lifts! I didnt have time to hunt for T nuts so I bought some shorter ones from Mcmaster (90572A310) and placed them in toe blocks and used the toe blocks in the heels as they still look good.

Was doing some routine maintenance and decided to check the t-nuts to which the toe and heel blocks attach to. All 4 used to attach the heel block had hairline fractures.

I'm heading up to Okemo for MLK weekend and will be planning another trip in late Feb. We were set on Stowe but I'm also on the hunt for something more lowkey. Not looking for any nightlife or food/drink scene obviously, just some good carving runs, dependable snow, and decent lifts. Any suggestions to those who've ridden Mt. Sunapee, Attitash, etc? Or just stick to Okemo and Stowe?

A video of you would help, as its all in the technique and not binding setup.

You can use a ski roto brush to save on money. A nylon brush is all you need honestly

I have a pair of the 3D center disks for F2 titanflex bindings if interested. In fact Ive got a lot of F2 parts laying around, will put em up in the Classifieds.

I have one. Its a lifesaver, made the most boring part of tuning into the funnest. I would practice on an old board to get the feel of how to use it as its easy to goof and slice off an edge section... You have to apply the right amount of pressure and maintain a constant working velocity. I use the medium wheel for setting an edge and then use the fine for regular tune up. Ive never been able to get such beautiful polish out of an edge, now its easy. Medium is two passes max, with the fine stone two or three passes and youre done. This and a nylon roller brush that connects to a electric drill have been the two best additions to my toolbox. You can ditch everything else, all the files, guides, brushes...

We decided to risk it and get the Epic Pass with 7 day reservation window. An interesting observation is that we saw a huge increase in the number of visitors to local attractions here in NJ/NY. Hiking trails that used to be empty on the weekends now require you to get there by 9am otherwise forget about finding a parking spot. Anything outdoor related is slammed with participants - biking, kayaking, canoeing, roller blading, fishing whatever. The uptick in people soing outdoor activities is huge. We are hedging that a lot more people take up skiing/snowboarding this season...

I think Swoard has some sort of demo program available in Switzerland, like Zinal is literally the next valley. The Pure Boarding guys also might also help you out, I think theyre like 20 min outside of Zurich. For me the snow/trail characteristics defined setback if I felt the centered position wasnt working. Natural snow cover with big runs made me shift the bundings from centered, artificial snow and narrow runs Id go up one or even two holes!

Thank you sandy, just one final question, how would you rate the responsivness and stiffness of the GTs vs CXs, esp with the hybrid strap? I love(d) the standard Fusion strap when I had my old Flows and the Hybrid strap seems more marketing over actual performance improvement.

10.5s with Ls or XLs? Couldnt find any local shops with NX2s as of now and I need to push the button as there are a couple of online auctions with smoking deals.

I think I missed you mentioning this, but do you have the Ls or XLs? I also ride in 10.5 Driver Xs that I stuff my 11.5 foot into and just wondering how much space is left in the binding. I.e., would XLs be too big and require me to crank down the boots to painful levels.

Testing of well, stream, and river water around ski resorts revealed some pretty shocking concentrations of perfluorochemicals. Let alone local dumps where thousands of pounds of wax shavings end up. I've seen the amount of wax a junior race team uses and it's incredible. Who knows if the polymer resins that have recently sprung up as an alternative to waxing might be the real future. Hmmm..
