Someone who frequents this resort should create a boycottgranitepeak.org website and get the word out. Vote en masse with your wallets and make 'em hurt even more in this down economy
Hey Slopes, I see you live in Costa Mesa. I live in Santa Ana on the weekends. I plan to spend a lot of time in Mammoth this season since I have a season pass, but I'll get a few days in the local resorts too. Finally, someone to carpool with
I keep forgetting to tell you I haven't been at TMS since August. In fact, I'm accepting a new job in Santa Monica and starting on 11/16. That brings me 1 hour closer to MMSA once I move up
November is up in the air since I'm trying to find an apartment or studio to move to. I definitely want to get at least 2 riding days in though. I'll let you know if I can make it next week, got a friend with MVP who's jonesing too. I can be reached at lochnguyen at gmail.com now
You'll need Intec or Fin-Tec heels if you go with the step-ins. I went with the step-in bindings because it's a little bit more convenient. A little, but not a lot.
Bruce is cooking up a 168 VSR FC for me and it will take over carving duties from my Madd 170. I haven't decided what to do with the Madd yet since it's still in awesome condition. It's certainly above rock board status and can be put to better use by someone else and I can use the extra money too. Decisions, decisions
Great prices, I'm looking through options right now I'm curious about the optional monoboard inserts. Can I mount TD3s side by side and ski?
Btw, there's a typo in the V-O Sidecarve section, "snowbard"
I second this advice. I took my board to Whistler and they tossed my ATV around. Part of my topsheet got torn off at the nose. Nothing major but still :(
Yea it looked like a mess! I decided to not go up alone mainly because of the crowd size. It probably got smaller on Saturday but that wasn't enough to motivate me to drive 6 hours by myself.
The mountain is closing until they can get more snow on the ground. There's talk of a Halloween storm so cross your fingers! I hope Bruce finishes my VSR in time for Thanksgiving
What a cluster f*! I'm still considering whether to drive up in the early AM and enjoy Saturday and some of Sunday. The diminishing coverage and crowd level is such a bummer but I'm hungry for turns.
I bought the Thunder Cloud carving gloves after ripping through two pairs last season. I was able to get about 5 days on the new gloves and they've been great so far! Pretty warm too and I like the gauntlet.
See the news? Jeremy is starting his own line of snowboards. We should petition him to make something we'd salivate over

Check out the Prior ATV. I used a 171 as a transition board going from soft to hardboots. I think it has the widest waist of all alpine boards and it's great for all-mountain carving. I'm 5'6" / 155lbs and have no problems turning it.

Hey Mac, I don't have any boots for sale but just wanted to say congrats on the board. What did you get?
I live in Santa Ana, we should get a carpool going up to Mammoth ;)
I'm partial to Alpine Meadows for their excellent grooming and friendly staff. I haven't been to Mt Rose yet but all the experts like to go there. I have never been there :o Squaw is HUGE but every time I've been there it's a little more crowded than I would like. Northstar is a big cluster, avoid at all costs.
