  1. There's an NBC iPhone app for the Olympics. I favorited snowboarding so I should be getting updates as they come.
  2. Condolences to his family, that's very tragic. So young too.
  3. Indeed it does. It's my first new school board but I'm waiting until I have more than 5 days on it before I write a review. Definitely put in your order now though
  4. Put my vote in for gates! I love the challenge and ego bruising lol. What about clinics? Think attendees would be interested in pooling money together to bring qualified instructors in to run one every day?
  5. I just downloaded this off iTunes and figured some peeps might like it too: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/02/audis-truth-in-motion-documentary-available-for-free-on-itune/
  6. Count me in Neil. Not sure what I can help with but if you can list what needs to be done I'll volunteer for something. I'm pretty handy with a camera and making websites if that counts for anything.
  7. Which is what happened to me up at June Mtn during my avalanche class this pass weekend. Of course, on the ONE day I didn't wear my helmet I slam into the tree well. You can sorta see me going down head first. Having taken martial arts before I'm use to tucking my chin in a fall so I tucked as hard as I could and my shoulder and backpack took the brunt of the force. My buddies saw the whole thing and rushed to help me out. Got lucky on this one! be careful people
  8. My skier friend and I will be up there on the 13th. We confirmed with Krista just now. I'll have to spend some time riding switch to get up to Level 3. This should be interesting

    Broken tibia

Hope it heals quickly! I know how it feels to break a bone early in the season :(
  10. Dammit Neil! I see Will sold you on these I look forward to hearing how they work out for you at Mammoth and June Mtn.
  11. Thanks for the info Terry. I called Krista and left her a voicemail. I have a couple friends interested in this too.
  12. Stoked! I hate having to watch that in my cucble
  13. Is this for next season Terry? I'm interested but have no prior first aid or wilderness care training. I do have AIARE's level 1 avy training tho
  14. Gary, it was really nice in June today. I'm up here for an avalanche training course right now so I won't be making any turns. There was no wind today at all!
  15. That's some nice pow! I need to check out Baldy a few times this season. Didn't get a season pass for nothing
  16. That is scary to watch. I wonder if he got checked out afterwards, eek.
  17. 18. I just noticed that Jeremy Jones launched his website. It's awesome to see more focus on freeriding. I think I know which splitboard to get next season http://www.jonessnowboards.com/ Check out the trailer for his film coming out next Fall:
  19. So George, I'm sure you've had a chance to ride the Coda by now. Any reviews? Quick thoughts? Don't hold back on us now!
  20. I sure hope some of you guys glance at your mirrors when driving. I like to know who's behind me...
  21. Thanks for the pictures! Did you happen to check out Jeremy Jones' booth and see his new splitboard design? They had their board stolen too, such a shame this sort of thing happens at a trade show: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3391215&id=221468038842
  22. Word on the slopes is that Gunsmoke might be transformed into slopestyle! If you've ever carved from top to bottom without stopping admired your trenches going back up on the lift tested new gear on it had an "a-ha!" carving revelation heard people cheering you on from the lift randomly run into other hardbooters here (add your own) then please voice your opinion on keeping Gunsmoke the way it is http://forums.mammothmountain.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5628

    Ankle injuries

I was in a cast for 7 weeks I think and wore a soft boot (no pun intended) for another week or two. The doctor said after gaining strength back in the injured leg I can get back on the slopes but it was mid Spring when the hard cast came off. I decided not to risk injuring myself again since I was planning a through-hike of the John Muir Trail in the Sierra that summer. If it wasn't for that I surely would've shredded corn a few times before hanging up the snowboard. Good luck with your recovery!
