  1. The neighborhood kids are a little safer now.
  2. So far the list is: 1) nekdut - Neil 2) Miltie - Tom 3) mookihouse? 4) Hey John? 5) Loc - Loc? I really want to do this camp but I'm just holding out for the time being to gauge job security :o Hey Neil, the last time you did this how many folks were taking part? And how many instructors?
  3. Trying to hide from your dad so you don't have to go back eh?
  4. Dammit I'm so jealous. I'm slaving away in the cubicle. At least they didn't block BOL and I can e-carve:biggthump
  5. So after dropping a bag of money on the Mammoth MVP pass, they sent me an email with a link to 50% off lodging. I'm not sure if this is useful for next year. The only catch is the place has to be booked by the end of this month. I checked out some of the prices and it's still expensive http://www.mammothmountain.com/MountainActivities/Passes/MVP10/LodgingDeal My boss has a condo that's $825 for a weekend and sleeps 7 (?) on beds. But if people don't mind the couch and floors it can fit quite a bit more and bring the cost down ;)
  6. Cheers to Dennis for hosting our Jim Pryor Memorial session back in January. It was fun to meet everyone and find out the director of ski patrol lays the law down in hard boots. I love that golden retriever :)
  7. People here should try that - EC style:eek:
  8. There's a skier in Mammoth who rents out a room nightly for $20. He contacted me through the Mammoth forums when I asked about cheap lodging for Snow Performance. He also rides in hardboots and trench diggers part time. Just splurged on the MVP Pass this morning. That was a lot of money upfront :(
  9. The man always keeping us down!
  10. Just a reminder the public can buy a pass starting Wednesday, 4/1.
  11. Good meeting with you as well. Too bad we didn't get a run together. I could've sworn those tracks were yours! :D Was Boreal crowded? I seemed to have picked the wrong time to come up - spring break.
  12. Sigh. http://superstoker.com/2009/03/a-tribute-to-shane-mcconkey/ I didn't know he was one of the two guys who BASE jumped off Whistler's Peak-2-Peak until now. I arrived a few days after that but man, what a legend. I'll pour one for Shane.
  13. I just got back from Northstar and Sugarbowl. In the morning it was crusty, a lot of hard pack that my Madd 170 ate up. My freeriding friends were cursing it but I loved every second:eplus2: By 10am it softened up and by 11am it was real slushy. After lunch I couldn't do much carving in the slurpee and switched to my Prior ATV for some relaxed cruising. Of the two resorts Sugarbowl had more consistent conditions across the mountain. At Northstar I was testing my carving on hard pack on a diamond and suddenly lost an edge on the worst ice I've ever been on. I thought I broke my wrists - ugh. Anyone been to Mammoth or June lately and have a report?
  14. Chad, got your PM n the mammoth forums. I won't be up there this weekend but wouldn't hesitate to demo next time I am. Bring some boards out to the Snow Performance Camps. Those guys will put them to the test for sure.
  15. Add me to the list who wants an organized SNES. I'll help out anyway I can to make it happen. I hope there's a demo tent
  16. Gavin emailed me also and said it's on. I haven't committed yet, but I'll know in the next week or two. That MVP pass is mighty tempting and brings the price of SP down to $500. Do you think being coached for 3 days will save me a season or two of flopping around trying to figure things out?
  17. Let's put it in this context: how much can a newbie get out of these new designs? I feel like the people who will benefit the most already know what they're doing and they're not flopping around and figuring out the right technique.
  18. Good job man! I like the story telling, can't wait to see the pics.
  19. Thanks for the input everyone. I ended going to Stephan Kaelin in Newport Beach since it's a 10 minute drive for me. Jeff wasn't working yesterday but Josh helped me. I left my Le Mans over night and picked up this morning. There's a lot less pressure on the front of my feet now. I can't wait to see how my riding changes in Tahoe this week. Btw, the cost was $30.
  20. Nice pic! Wish I was there at Mt High for the glamour shots too

Welcome to the forum. I live in Santa Ana so it's just down the street from Fountain Valley. If you can get your hands on hardboots and bindings, I've got a Burton Ultra Prime you can borrow.
  22. Welcome new guy :) I might be taking part in the Snow Performance Alpine Camp in May. Another forum member, Nekdut, is attending as well. It's being held in Mammoth Mountain, California so join the party if you want. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=25090
  23. Shawn, do you have any sample photos? I'd like to see the quality of the stills if you got time to provide them.
  24. Ok the more I read about this the more I want to try it. Still got my 20% REI member coupon and $76 in dividends Check this out: http://www.filmtools.com/gripper-3025-suction-cup-camera-mount.html http://www.filmtools.com/woods-power-grip-4-5-cup-ram-ball.html http://www.filmtools.com/4sucupw3spwo.html
  25. I was there for Peak2Peak opening weekend and indeed, it is a cool ride. I even got to ride the glass bottom gondola. Luckly, I wasn't on the Blackcomb gondola that collapsed!
