  1. I had a bit rougher of a day , it was still an awesome weather day and to ride alpine with friends was a real TREAT!!! Short List: Very nice man ran over my Snowboard in the parking lot. Stuck at the bottom of the HRM chair, lost an hour or better hiking, waiting for bus , transport back to man lot. On the wrong board when Cascade opened. Let's just say I am still working the BUGS out of the season. :) On the GREAT side: First "First Chair" of the season. Rode with Jim and Eric for a couple untracked fresh snow runs. Rode with Mike Tinkler Finally on alpine gear!! Presented with the only know "SIMS" branded Snow Stix by the maker himself. "Best Christmas Gift" Bryan
  2. Thanks for getting this years thread started Jim!!! Sorry I could not rise to the occasion on Tuesday. Work on the addition continues to suck up time , energy and money!!! Currently I don't have a kitchen and doing dishes in the bathroom sink is getting old fast!! :) PS TINKLER IS BACK!!! So glad to see Mike back in Oregon!! I am posting allot more on a couple pages I started on Facebook Here is a few if you want to join: "Bryan's Big Boy Boards" focus on longboard snowboards 170cm and longer "Oldsnowboards" focus on early snowboards and their history "Alpine Snowboard Trader" focus on what we love here!!! I have several others but they are very focused on specific models etc. Please feel free to join theses pages, if you are not accepted please contact me directly for approval. I have other admins and if they see warning signs you may be denied . Thanks, Bryan
  3. Monday was a fun day for me. It was fairly warm to start but the snow was good and the crowd was low. I tried to take it very easy being my first day. Tanker 200cm with plates (my go to) did a warm up on South Canyon, it was untracked, next North Canyon. They circled watching for the SS opening. Middle Fork was fun but sketchy depth and of course the terrain change are abrupt because they have not had a chance to be leveled out. Hit the SS opening, deep , soft and smoother than expected. Another 5 -6 laps of mostly untracked. Finished up at ER and left behind untracked there. By 11am it was mud but still fun on a big board. Took some shocks due to flat light and terrain dips but had a great time. Much like the old days where Mondays meant small crowds and more than one untraced run in a day!!!
  4. Glad to hear the BOL members are safe, I recall the huge wash outs after big rain and was reminded by those by the video of the cows stranded on a small plot that played here in the US. Stay safe, New Zealanders are tough and resourceful but this could be harsh.
  5. Eric, you are one of so few that LIVED those early moments in the history of snowboarding. Your memories and experiences are treasures. Thank you for sharing with us!! Bryan
  6. Please contact me via PM. I will send my email address so we can chat. Thanks, Bryan
  7. I don't know the Coiler scale well enough to say for sure, I believe it is in the middle , med flex. NOT METAL , 250$
  8. Prior 171cm ATV "All Terrain Vehicle" 171cm x 10M SCR x 23.5cm Waist. One of the best all mountain boards ever built specifically with alpine plate bindings in mind. Chris knows alpine and this is built to handle plates. Good to very good condition. No known issues, lots of light scratches on the top sheet, still a nice structure on the base. Happy to throw some cold wax on it for you if you like. Great value on a classic non metal all mountain ripper!! 250$ Shipping will be 35-45$ in the lower 48 , 75$ to Canada. PS. This is a good candidate for a freestyle rider that wants to cut their teeth in the alpine world. Beefy enough to handle plates, still fairly wide to allow lower angles and friendly shape and side cut yet built on an alpine core / style.
  9. Good to Very good condition. Lots of light scratches top and bottom, no major issues. A light grind would put it back in near perfect shape. Me? I would ride it early season and then give it a grind when the snow pack is safer. Bruce builds superior boards and this is a great alpine board with some flexibility to ride of piste. Shipping will be 35-45$ in the lower 48 states , 75$ to Canada. Full S/N is 169AM1908TK1-7.5 for those that can read Coiler Code. Great solid non metal board that won't let you down!! 250$ PS. This is also a great board for those that have an interest in giving alpine a go without committing to a full on race board.
  10. Monodude is first in the que , but I do have a Hazelwood 200cm I would consider trading. These have a stiffness rating don't they? Like D +++. What is this? Thanks, Bryan
  11. Wow!! Kurt!! Sweet line up. Permission to repost the photo ?? Score on the OG 170 Madd, I am still looking!!! PS, I CARE!! That is one of the finest Madd collection I know of. I forget who has another killer collection, out of So Cal?
  12. Very cool Eric!! Thanks for the "Back Story" , glad to see the re-issues! I just received the yellow three stripe "Sunburst" the other day!! Well done!!
  13. Welcome to BOMBER Steve!! Bryan Proof that alpine snowboarding doesn't have to be expensive!! Great , well built board!!
  14. I wonder how this product can be successful if the result of using it is so much damage. Doesn't pencil?
  15. If you can hang on to them and see if we can find a local that needs them
  16. Probably in a gray area here. Although the Cruiser was their go to alpine board back in the day. I can see the point. I would like to hopefully help Eric without without having to change any rules about posting oldsnowboards?? Bryan
  17. Nice!! Sandy, did you know that Danny "Kiwi" moved to Portland??
