  3. Hi Jim, it is a quarterly, modeled after "Surfer's Quarterly". I believe there has only been two issues published as of date. A 3rd is not far off. 40$ annual (4 issues) , 12.95$ per issue if you can find one. Check the big book stores , cigar -mag stores or the high end snowboard shops. Definitely worth a look. I know both Ed and "The Foley" have subscriptions. Your welcome to check out mine if we meet. Bryan
  4. Cover shot of issue #2 , what dreams are made of!!
  5. Hey Stoked, it is a great photo! Jon Foster is the photographer. If it hasn't already, I would be surprised if it doesn't show up in "Snowboard Journal". I think their new Quarterly would be the IDEAL forum for a article about "The Carving Revival". It really fits. High dollar mag with much broader scope. I.E. Awesome powder shots, real backcountry shots, quirky articles for those interested in more than tricks and big hits. I think Jon Foster and Burton Early Pro and all around good guy Jason Ford would certainly entertain well written articles and photos for future issues. It would certainly fit with your interest to promote the alpine snowboarding sport in general. Good fit!! PS> Thanks for your efforts to do the same at your site. Hosting all the videos is a big favor to all. My thanks!! Bryan Snowboard Journal Magazine Site
  6. Yes Sir! Not that we want you to be "Bummed" , just hopefully JAZZED enought to make the trip. Hopefully by this time next year we will make it even easier to make it happen. I am guessing before too long, Mike or I will have built a small site with all the info and updates to make it handy for those traveling in. I am sure there are a number of the Mt Hood Locals that can help facilitate our "Bros" that travel in from out of state , making it easy and hassle free. Like: Travel info Hotel bargains. Geographical layout Ticket bargains Etc. A week of carving on uncrowded groomed slopes in May would be a great complement to the larger orgainized carve sessions now in place. This a good thing!! Lets keep the momentum going!
  7. Here is an off site link to a gallery that will give you at least a taste of the conditions at the Friday MHCF hosted by Mike Tovino. Please forgive the size of the actual photos. I will work it over when I have time . For those with dial up be for warned you may want to look at the thumbnails prior to selecting the photos to save download time. It was a very good day to be on an alpine snowboard. Enjoy. Bryan PS. My only regret is we didn't get allot of carving photos , only because of Jim's willingness to stop long enough to get a few do we have these. I was too anxious to ride that day to stop. The group photo was taken at 10:30am , top of "The Mile" chairlift on the west side. We were unable to contact Ken and Tim so they could be included. Mt Hood Carve Fest Gallery
  8. Some of the guys. Left to right , Ed, Jim, Randy, Mike and Eric. Yes , it was just that nice on the mountain. Sunny , low winds, corned up nice , groomed perhaps a bit rough around the edges in the am, softened up nice, but the off-piste in zig zag RULED!! Place as big a carve as you like anywhere you like and feel good about it!! You Carve!, You Carve! You Carve! for you old timers get your copy of "Chill" out and sing along with Peter B and Jean N.
  9. Hey Jim, Mike , guys. I just sent Mike all the photos from the Friday session. Glad you took some "Action" shots Jim. Great day, wish I could have made all of them. Thanks Mike for a great job of organizing. Wish I had been able to ride/talk with some of the guys that traveled to be there . I still have some more days on the flex pass. Just learned from Timberline they are good through June 6th. They go back to 7 days a week soon. Great time carving it up!! Let's do it again next year for sure. Maybe we can draw in some of the "Bros" from back east and the Colorado area. Show them some Pacific Northwest Style Hospitality!!
  10. I aggree, I bought mine for "The Collection" , thinking maybe it would also ride "OK". When it arrived , I thought, DAMN!! it is narrow, just enough nose to keep from augering, lots of sidecut and stiff! My kinda carving board! Turns out to be one of my favorite all time boards. Here is a photo of mine from this last Fridays "Mt Hood Carve Fest" Thanks again Mike for making it happen!! Bryan
  11. Firm groomed and bright clear skies in the am, occasional clouds rolling through. Several inches of fresh off-piste on a surface mother nature made smoother than the groomed. It was quite good! The new snow should be groomed out well by the week-end , should be "Most Excellent" . TIME FOR A "MT HOOD CARVE FEST". Thanks for all the work you have done Mike. I almost called from the chair-lift, wasn't sure that would be kind. Hoped you or some other "carvers" would show up. "Slope Tool" showed up and handled ever condition with grace as usual. It was a VERY good day!. 23k by 1PM

Either two 3 degrees or a zero and a 3 degree. Screws welcome but not critical. Also looking for another set of TD2 discs and a soft and medium set of rubber dampeners for the same. I have the red and would like to try the others (black and yellow?) Thanks

  20. What year is it? Top sheet color??
  21. Hey Mike and Jim. Today , rained all the way up this am. Sunny and clear in the parking lot, alpine glow of the summit at 7:30am from the parking lot. Few riders. No alpine boards except mine. 4" overnight helped the groomers and the off piste. The ice from last week just a memory on the groomed. Cascade opened with fairly inconsistant grooming. Wind effected on the top half. Tough skiing , decent snowboarding in the dry but styro-foamy drifts. The real jem was Hood River. Well buffed (hard pack) with an inch of dust on top. No one there!! Mike, you would have loved it!! Left some 4-6" trenches here and there in your honor!! Hope to see you all "Cranking" out the ditches soon!!
  22. Hey Jim! You were looking Smooth in the Pow as usual. Great day huh??!! Sun, snow, cold and not that busy! I am guessing you heard me "Shout Out"? The grooming on Shooting Star Ridge was pretty smooth for early conditions. Sounds like the MHM carving club is growing!! Very cool. See ya all soon! Bryan Mount Hood Meadow Trail Map/ PDF format.
  23. Not only does the Fin build "SWEET" world class bindings, now he hosts a "WORLD CLASS" site!! A big "Well Done" is deserved. Thanks for creating a great place for us to "Hang". Thanks Bryan
