@Carvin' MarvinI have not had any failures with the F2 Titan Flex. I do not ride them as often as my TD-3’s (I like the 6 degree toe and heel lift). I did inspect the t-nuts this year, they looked good. Yes you do ride like a teenager jacked up on Red Bull and Otter Pops! I love your style! If anyone was going to break stuff, I would put you on the likely canidate list.

I have been coordinating with Jacob (Turner Mtn grooming supervisor) and Brett (Prinoth Groomers) this morning. Here is a summary: Turner is 90% completed with widening and pioneering runs to be groomed for event. Snowpack is above normal for this time of year, so coverage is great. Temperatures and weather are looking good for making firm groomers that will last longer. Chans Run that has some great rolls and banks will be buffed out. Brett will try and make the natural spine on the lower half of the Pig Chute even more pronounced. But you just never know what Mother Nature will throw at us. We could have a 2019 lift served heli boarding conditions again.. Next week this time we will have the wolf pack all together! See you soon!

We have had a LOT of people with serious injuries from getting hit over the years. Fire trucks, highway workers, signs and hazard signs are specific colors for a reason. I do not want to see anyone have an injury or life changing event. I am a FIRM believer that colors that pop help prevent some of these accidents. Just wear some darn color! Why would you wear funeral colors to do something so fun? Well I was able to get some food pictures from Turner posted! The kitchen will be open with Jeremiah and his crew fixing up some amazing breakfast and lunches! Credit cards and cash accepted at the hill. No cash machine available on hill.

Waxing and tuning is available at Turner. My long time friend has the ski shop there. He can tune and wax. He has a fancy new infrared waxing machine! Really cool! I tried to attach pictures of it, but I am having issues.

@ktv good tip! Yes always wipe the snow off the seat before sitting down! Use the ramp to keep you from swinging and hold on to the chair when loading. Good tip for any fixed grip chair. I have seen this happed to Todd Brown or maybe it was Paul K at Aspen. wipe, sit, hold on.

We currently have 40% first time MCC attendees this year and I have been thinking about what advice to share with them. I will list off a few I can think of, but would love to hear your input for how to have a fun and successful MCC. Put your forum name or last name on your helmet. Most of us have met on the forum or Facebook. Sure makes it easy to connect with our online friends/family. Demo every board you can. Each board you try will teach you something different about riding. You might even fall in love with one. Drive very thoughtfully on the way up to Turner Mtn. 22 miles from Libby to Turner, the first 11 miles are well taken care of, the second 11 miles is 1-2 lanes wide, can be snow packed/icy, numerous deer, elk and an occasional moose. Turner is steepest on the right side as you ride the lift up and less steep on the LEFT. The easiest carving runs are Cabinet Avenue, Pneumonia Ridge, Lower Mambo, Lower Main, Pig Chute and Jeep Road. Attend the Clinics! We have 6 professional ski/snowboard/carver instructors. The are here to help you level up and ride with more confidence. Attend the Race/Gates Clinics. We have 2 former World Cup racers hosting this clinic. It is open to all ability levels. Even if you never plan to get on a race course, you will learn something amazing. Eat in the Lodge! The Turner Kitchen crew makes delicious homemade soups, chili and amazing sandwiches all at a great price. Bring a Powder set up… If you do not have one, we will have some demos, but you are only able to take them for 2 runs. The Rental Shop has softboot boards and boots for rental. Or get creative, shift your binding as far back as you can, unbuckle the tops fo your boots and ride. Buy lots of raffle tickets! 5+ boards, UPZ boots, F2 Bindings, Bomber Bindings, MCC 2022 sign, bags, cases, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, hats, Montana Lottery Gift Basket, Lodging and more. All raffle proceeded are donated to the volunteer ski patrol. Wear bright colors. Bright clothing sure makes pictures pop! You could be the next MCC poster star and get on the MCC Instagram/Facebook. We will have 2 professional photographers and a videographer capturing the fun, plus several participants will be out taking photos. Bring a great attitude. We could have perfect carving conditions, feet of powder or rugged conditions. We will do the best we can with the groomers, but sometimes Mother Nature has a very different plan. Bring your GoPro and/or Camera. We have a photo drive on Google that everyone shares picts/videos into. It is great to see everyone’s perspective on their trip to/at/from MCC. Make friends, talk carving with people that get it, and have FUN!

Welcome to the Forum! You have missed out on a lot of technology changes! Modern boards are so much more fun to ride! The spectrum of conditions that they are fun and easy to ride has never been wider. The Bomber TD-3 is a very popular binding, and still as visually stunning as ever. There are many compromises with using one boot for both skiing and carving. UPZ, Deeluxe and Mountain Slope are all quite popular in the carving community. Time for an upgrade to modern performance and fun!

Tree wells typically get 1-2 people a year at Whitefish. Turner’s vegetation type is not the same at Whitefish, and less conducive to tree well accidents, still possible but much less likely. Spruce and alpine fir that have branches all the way to the ground make the nasty tree wells. Turner is mostly Douglas Fir, Larch, and lodgepole pine. Turner has also done a great job limbing up the trees in the gladed runs. Great points on keeping an eye on your buddy when riding off piste! Stay Safe!

The fine folks at Turner are rebuilding the back ground for the Snow Stake Cam. https://www.skiturner.com/snow-stake-cam They have asked me for 4 old snowboards (preferably alpine) to mount on the back of the station for a back drop. If you happen to have an old/broken/unrideable or you just hate it board that you would be willing to donate and bring/ship to the event please let me know. Scott who designed the station has it set up very cleverly. There is a plate that heat up at the right time, then tip up to slide the snow off, then you have a clean station for the next measurement period. Thanks! David
