  1. Usually 7 and 0. Sometimes I'll crank it up to ~15 and 7.
  2. How much do you want for the buggy?
  3. It was suggested I crosspost this in the CO board. (I didn't realize CO was on it's own.) -------------------- I'm headed out west the day after Christmas (from Northern Michigan, lower penninsula area). We're going to be staying with a friend who lives in Laramie. I was thinking we might head down to steamboat for a day or two (approx. 2 hours away as I understand it) and other various smaller hills, by your standards, in the area. I was just hoping I could get some recommendations. I'm lookin for Pow, Carving, secret spots, cheap spots, whatever. Powder, I'll take any I can get. Carving I like long blue squares that I can rail. My butthole puckers up too much on the steeps and my carving just falls apart. Also, I was trying to teach my girlfriend how to snowboard, but since we're going out west I might enlist the help of instructors, whether she wants to try skiing or snowboarding or what. ANd my brother and his wife will be there, he's a strong skier (carving, don't know how well he'd do in pow) and she's a rather new skier. Thanks, Ben ---------------
  4. More or less with both. I guess on heelside my outside hand really only ends up by my front knee or so. It helps just keep my hands in front and gets my knees and hips pushing into the hill.
  5. I think the one thing that has helped me most is to reach for where I want to go. I, for one, especially have to remember that on heelside.

Yeah, you know what, why don't you take your 500 snowboards and shove them up... WOOH SAAAAAA WOOH SAAAA

I had a pretty great time there on sunday night. It reminded me why I love hardbooting. Just ran down cheers half a dozen times, but I was plowin through the skier-groom on my SL board, which normally springs me around quite a bit. Worked on getting my arms out ahead of me pointing to where I want to go. Sprang out of some turns so damn fast that I was already halfway through the next turn before I knew what the hell was happening. Sprang out of a heelside so hard that my hand was almost touching the snow before my board hit the snow. It excited me greatly. Anyway, I'm headed out west the day after Christmas, so I'll probably be out on the hill again the weekend after new years.
  9. My board got a real long stare from a kid while in the lift line. The line moved and the kid didn't. Dad tells the kid to move. He grabs dad and says "look!" Dad looked unimpressed. The kid asked me what kind of board it was and I said it was an alpine board. He just said "Oh." So I gave him a BOL business card and told him to look it up.

I might be out there sunday. And if I am out there, there is a chance that I'll be spending the whole day on the bunny slope teachin the girlfriend. I really need to get out there and ride before I head out west (day after Christmas). So far I have one run on Cheers under my belt. Granted it felt pretty good, possibly coming on a little strong, just about stuffing the nose on toeside, and a little week on heelside, but felt good.

Yeah, I keep telling her if she ever gets in trouble just find the ground. It may not feel good to fall down, but it's sure as hell better than a tree. I don't think she'll ever get into trouble like that though, we're going rather slow. Painfully slow, in fact. I got her going down the hill sideways on her heels. Maybe next weekend we'll get to toeside and the weekend after that maybe we'll even get to go up the chairlift! But I'm crazy about her so I guess I don't really mind the slow going. Knoch, are you still in school? I'm still a little nervous going down steeps. I can do buck but I usually end up in the back seat still. I don't see that changing this year, what, with trying to spend time with the little lady and all.
  12. I've seen some oldies in the pawn shops but nothing I'd be willing ride. Your best bet would be BOL. Joe at Sun N Snow in Cadillac knows about alpine snowboarding. In fact long ago he used to do it (according to him). Though he says nobody does it anymore and you can't buy new equipment, so I guess he can't know that much. As far as I know there are 3 from BOL that go to Crystal Mtn, with another 1 or 2 not from BOL.

Hey, congrats. Seems like all my friends are having kids. My cubicle neighbor's wife is due in about a week, my old roommates wife is preggo, same with another friend I met through him. Damn. Anyway, if I go saturday it's looking like I'll be spending most of my day on the bunny hill teachin the girlfriend the basics. I know people here are going to chastise me for it, but I'm teaching her the damn falling leaf. I want her to know how to stop before she learns how to go.

Crystal Mtn. opens in one hour. Knoch, Clebner? Anybody else still out there? I realize I kinda disappeared for a while there. New house, new job, new girlfriend. I'll possibly be out there on saturday. My girlfriend, god bless her heart, is willing to try skiing and/or snowboarding for me, so I'm thinking about getting her some ski lessons. I don't trust the snowboard instructers anymore, so I'd be the one giving her snowboard lessons. Anyway, I'm just seein if anybody is still around.
  15. I loved it when the announcer referred to something Shaun White did in the slopestyle as a "eurocarve". He crossed the gap and then he had to "eurocarve" back to get to his next set. Also I was disappointed to see Nick Baumgartner go down in the finals.
  16. I've got the rossi sis. No slop at all. As far as step ins go I think they're some of the better ones. No snow clogging or anything. I could stand my boots to be alot stiffer, but that's just cause they're super old and broken down.
  17. No, Pink is the fastest color. Cause if you're a guy with a pink car, you better be fast!
  18. That kinda reminds me... You know how they have the blessing of the bikes? Has anyone ever heard of a blessing of the boards?
  19. Sweet... I wish I lived out west, I would totally volunteer. And the diamond plate kicks ass.
  20. Back in the day I had a Budweiser board... My mom made me put tape over all the places that it said "Bud" or the like on it so when I got on the schoolbus nobody would make a fuss. It did have the added effect of making my board look older and less desirable.
  21. Yeah, I got mine a few days ago. I was going to hang it up. I don't remember giving them my new address, but it was on there. I'm glad SOMEBODY is keeping track of me. :D
  22. The boots I bought used had 27 thermoflex (raichle branded) in 26 shells. I bought some used 27 thermoflexes to replace them though and they didn't fill out. So it's hard to say, but I'd venture to guess that Michelle and them have had just a little bit of practice with this sort of thing... :)
  23. Man, you couldn't pay me to live in DC. We visited a friend of the family in Mannassas. You could see where they worked from their house, but it still took 2 hours to get there every morning. I prefer my 10 acres on the end of a private road any day.
  24. Armchair doctor? Is one of your armchairs sick?
