  1. I've never been hit, but what I have done is stuff the nose and go over backwards. My helmet kept my head from getting slammed into some rather hard snow. Well, it still got slammed, but there was protection. Anyway, I've bounced off of my heada couple times, it helps there too. And they're really not uncomfortable. I thought it would be bulky and cold. I don't even realize I"m wearing my helmet anymore.

I'll try to get out there after work on monday, maybe sunday morning also. We're pretty busy getting ready for this test I'm conducting in a couple weeks, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the whole day off, but I might look into that too.
  3. I have an older 162 Nitro that you could probably master. I'd trade it (plus cash) for the RT if you were interested.
  4. I could understand having carving only trails, but so far, my favorite person to carve with is on the highschool ski team. Well, both him and my brother, who skis also. They can both lay a tight line (or two, rather) and both are very capable of booting out for carving so tightly (just trying to illustrate their carving abilities), the only time they side-slip is to stop. Having boarder-only or skier-only trails/mountains is to say that boarders and skiers can't go down the hill in the same fashion, when in reality, there are both proficient people and morons in both categories.
  5. Basically the only reason the screw is there is to hold the strap when it's not actually strapped, correct? The screw holds none of the load.

    thanks

Just wanted to thank Pat Moore for a good transaction. Package was ready for pickup before I even paypalled any money. I was willing to pay, but he just wanted money for shipping. Also got a cant that I wasn't expecting, but it is well appreciated. Only problem is now that I have boarded with cant, I have to go out and get another cant for my other boards! Oh well, the prices we pay. Thanks Pat.

Man, Sunday was epic! Fell in love with snowboarding again. Bought some bindings and they came with cant so I had to try it out. Um... Yeah, they helped my riding a bit. I had a hard time washing out my heelsides. Initiations were lightning quick it felt like. I was snapping out of my turns, even on my damp board. Red Prior and TD1s, who was that?
  9. You put your back foot in, you put your back foot out you put your back foot in and you shake it all about you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around...
  10. I knew there were some minds in the gutter out there.

Any news? I haven't been out in weeks. Last weekend we had to take the girlfriends nephew to his hockey game in Mt. Pleasant, then of course there's valentines day and dinner at the girlfriends parents. Then the week before that. Well, I forget what happened. Then the week before that i think I may have gone for a short time on sunday. Either way, I GOTTA get out there this weekend! I've got a hockey game on Sunday at 9:15, so I can't stay too late. I was pretty seriously considering going after work one of these days.
  12. Oh, good job, you just fed them what they wanted. How long have you been riding physics, what other bindings do you have?
  13. I still would have watched it.
  14. Holy crap, MM is one of the best shows ever and I think I may have to have somebody record this for me.
  15. Man, that makes a huge difference watching it in all it's animated glory. Cool idea. I agree about the rather large rise. I also think that to deal with the kinds of forces that are seen in snowboarding, the globe will need to be bigger, which, unfortunately, would only increase the rise. Anyway, I do like the idea. I look forward to future iterations. It all starts with an idea.
  16. We're gonna hear somebody say you should get a new board with the decambered nose.
  17. That would explain it. I'm at work where the firewall is blocking that sort of thing. I'll have to view it at home. Thanks bob.
  18. Ok, normally I'm pretty good at this sort of thing (engineer), but is anybody else not entirely sure what they're looking at? I mean, I can see some things going on, and by what everybody is saying I can understand the jist of it, but as far as I'm concerned, this one picture isn't very descriptive.

Aha! That's why it seemed so big. My proe defaults to diameter. Sidecut DIAMETER is 20. I wonder what I was smokin to miss that.
  20. Man, this apple analogy can take a dirty meaning pretty fast. First thing I think of is eating apples... The next thing I think of is the apples on the ground... They've been down there where it's easy to pick up bugs and all that other yucky stuff. Yeah, I don't want an apple with bugs... How many other dirty minds are out there? Man, I'm not even drunk or anything. Hell, I'm at work talkin about this!

After some stupid mistakes on my part... It looks to me like it's about 20m. That seems huge to me, but I guess not unheard of. I also board on a small (sub 500ft) crowded hill, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
  22. So I'll be driving from SFO to tomales and I'll have plenty of time. Is there any problem with taking Panoramic Hwy and/or Shorline Hwy this time of year? Or at all. Is it worth the trouble? I've been there before and all, but it was probably 8-10 years ago by now. Just looknig to make my business trip more pleasureable.
