  1. OK, you guys have got me joining in....against my better taste.... It's one of those times you are glad you said "to hell with the DIN scale...crank'em up!" "Shrinkage occurs....but the hair remains!" "Why does a female ski patrol have to be on duty now???" "Next time...suspenders!" "I sure hope they didn't sell me Markers!" "Good think I have a helmet on...." Really.....making fun of some misfortune that is not his fault is just wrong...
  2. I wonder how that happened....was he hanging there or what? I'd probably call it "freakiesk skier pic ever" or something, the dude looks like he's got a serious problem.
  3. I'm part of the size 29 bump in the chart.....why is this not a bell curve?
  4. hey, cool, there's a video forum!
  5. If it really doesn't matter which one you buy then the TD3's have that thick squishy pad between the binding and the board, it's gotta be the best....doesn't it?
  6. I think some wax in the fabric is a good thing. Usually I just rub wax on the edges kinda thick maybe 1-2" wide. Reef that in hard then hit the middle a little with the embedded (in the fabric) wax. Hit the whole shebang with the rotobrush. It's fast for me. I'm using universal wax. If I had some fancy high fluoro stuff I might use a different piece of fabric for each wax.
  7. Oh yeah, that was me <smootch> Kidding! But I've got to admit, part of the fun is the showing off. When I started alpine snowboarding it was like "I've gotta find some secluded spot for training". Now it's like "you guys have gotta see this!". And just look up....all eyes are on you! What I can't believe is that more people aren't thinking "I've got to learn THAT." Sorta like Allee...it was obsession at first sight :)
  8. Oh yeah, another *perfect* opportunity for me to type the phrase "Wax Whizard!" But I don't want to go OT so I'll just stay quiet ;) Another guess.....Ti bails!
  9. I'm gonna go up a little and guess 50,000. But isn't this like asking how many grains of sand in the world?
  10. Today I'm gonna guess.....new super high tech elastomer material!
  11. I got this thing for Christmas....will try it on Thursday. Currently using goggles with inserts and fogging...but it's been this way for a long time. Sucks!
  12. My understanding is that you use pressure to push the wax into the base, not heat. And the "pushed in wax" followed by the rotobrush has made my stuff seem to run very fast. All I know is....fast and no base burn with the wac whizard for me. I'm not trying to convert anybody....just sharing my experience. I admit I miss the smell of hot wax!
  13. That is just totally the opposite that happened to me! I had trouble with base burn with hot wax and virtually none with the wac wizard. Funny...I wonder why we have such opposite results?? But hey, I used the belt sander on my scrapers back in the day and they did an "OK" job but not great.
  14. Totally agree with you, it's a place for them and so they're not where we want to be and everybody is happy. I'd be bummed to lose a great carving run but maybe it's best to look at this differently and say "this is great!"
  15. Yeah, since I made the switch I haven't used my scrapers at all. I do like to hit it with the rotobrush so I can't say I save electricity.
  16. I just hate it when they till just the top 1/2" over brick hard ice. But I guess it's better than not tilling at all.... I think the best is when they shoot a little fresh stuff on top then till the mix.
  17. I've heard of the "Brushed Carve", the Skarve, the Skidded Carve, or in the old days before shaped skis simply..."Carve" but never the "Slarve", where'd the "L" come from? But Rob summarized it perfectly in one sentence!
  18. For me it's "was I able to control my speed on this hill" or was it a gradually acceleration until I hit "terminal velocity" or even just a little faster than where I started. Steeper, more narrow runs are tougher (obviously), as are tougher snow conditions. On our little hills most days it is pretty easy to own the run but when it's death cookies or margarita snow over brick hard refreeze then it's a whole 'nother story.
  19. I got a set of blues and yellows but the blues feel totally plush, didn't even try the yellows...I'd like to swap my yellows for some reds. Brand new, never used, and I don't mind some scuffed up reds. I say....try'em all.
  20. Ahhh great, even if it's not true I appreciate the info :) Now for a nap....
  21. I'm waiting for the "Brushed Carve" to make a resurgence
  22. Just tell me this....that I won't regret buying the TD3. Tell me I'll be even more fired up about the TD3 when I see the new paradigm changing race device. Even if you have to lie!
  23. Anybody have pictures of their cool leash setup? I'd like a little more style, mine is....let's say...functional but dorky.
  24. Man, that has got to be the best snowboard video ever! Say it with me....Psycho Cross!
  25. Buttermilk is where I first saw alpine riders....and it started a life changing switch from ski carving to snowboard carving for me...it's magic!
