  1. You're not the only one. <eagerly awaiting the pics of the babes in the hot tub>
  2. I ended up getting a defective unit and sent it back. I asked for a refund but I don't know exactly how that will work out. I think I am going to go with the disposable contacts and regular goggles for next year. Under 2$ per day once you get a supply, that's such a tiny amount compared to the total cost of a day of snowboarding I figure seeing and not fogging is worth it. We had a day with a high of 12 below zero this year, my rx adaptors immediately iced up and were opaque. I popped out the Rx portion and used the goggles like "regular goggles" and didn't have ANY fogging problems! And this was with a full face mask with no exposed skin or anything. That experience got me thinking about the disposable contacts. Sorry I can't be more help :( but good luck :)
  3. Maybe he goes to the southern hemisphere to check on the TD3 production?
  4. Things that we do that we shouldn't do LOL a stiffen up so your body is rigid b lean back over your back food c reach for the snow by bending at the waist d don't complete the turns all of the way e keep your edges a little dull f move into the turn nice and slowly
  5. Gotta agree, especially for toesides, steeper boot angles let you get your hip more inside.
  6. Sent to Mr. MB4 yesterday. Couldn't sell'em for months but for free they really flew out of here LOL. Good luck in your cant plate search :)
  7. There are just so many comments and questions that a statement like this elicits....I'll just go with "May the force be with you" :)
  8. iMovie 09 has a "make it steadier" function, looks great for this kind of thing
  9. OMG! You're not serious!!! Say your not serious!!!!
  10. Oh god, the downhill ski flapping, tail loading, over rotated, acl snapping abomination! I just about lost my lunch! You can't just be throwing links like this up, people could be emotionally damaged by watching stuff like this. Children might be watching for cripes sake! I'm going to have to take a shower now. ehem....Respectfully, I stand by my previous statement.
  11. Free to a good home! Nobody has bought these things and they can't just sit here on the table forever so I'm gonna give'em away. Yeah, that's right, for FREE! You've gotta pay the shipping but that's it. You tell me you want'em, I ship'em from my close-to-work UPS store, send you a picture of the receipt, then you send me the $$$ via paypal.
  12. With EC turns you are really shaping the top of the turn and moving some of the pressure from the bottom...where it loads up like crazy...to the top. So that is really cool. EC is exclusive to alpine snowboards, can't do it on skis! Gotta watch it, getting into the "hands down, butt up" position must be avoided at all costs!
  13. I use the side edge tool. It's great if you're into polishing your edges every time you go. It doesn't take much material off per swipe...don't even THINK about changing your side edge angle with it, it'll take at least 1250 years of hard rubbing (ie don't use it to switch from a 90 to an 88 or anything). It leaves the edge really smooth. It uses little strips of abrasive material like sandpaper and includes directions to make more-they're super duper cheap and easy to make. It has a bit of a homemade appearance, doesn't look as fancy as some of the milled machined tools. I've used it for 2 years and have only used a file for setting the edge angle. As far as the wax whizzard, I love it but the renew zoom wax is intriguing... Hey what is the deal with citrus wax remover, is it bad for my base or OK?
  14. OK, so the hard shell part cracked....I didn't see that in the picture. But the foam part...it's supposed to break up when you hit something hard, the energy goes into breaking the helmet instead of your head. Isn't this right? Or am I way off here?
  15. United is 15$ for your first bag, 25$ for your second, each way. Plus extra for > 50#, not sure how much but a lot. So now you're nickel-and-dimed plus you can be assured people are cramming the largest carry-on's imaginable in the overhead bins and there will be no room for your stuff. Oh yeah, and getting on and off the plane takes longer because of all of the carryon luggage. Did I mention I just flew home on United on Sunday?
  16. Just try to skid a bit on a board with no base bevel then put a 1 degree bevel on it an you'll see a huge difference. Yeah, 1 degree, not that much, only on the edge, a few mm wide, can't matter, right? Well...it does when you pivot the board. Makes no difference in a carved turn, can't tell'em apart. Kinda funny that way. And for sharpness, well, that's important too.
  17. Not too surprised the helmet cracked, that's what they're supposed to do, break so your head doesn't break. But the edge damage, yeah, no gettin' around that, that took a big impact. Hope the claim idea pans out
  18. I heard from him and was assured of a video by SES. Although I'm always up for a well-deserved beat down, I won't be able to make SES so I'll need to rely on you (?) if any "negotiations" are needed during said event :) Hey BTW I was in Sun Valley last week and I, a master of our local 330 foot hill, counted how many times I had to stop coming down Warm Springs. Yeah, I stopped 10 times LOL :) The Warm Springs Lift should be a religious site for our discipline.
  19. OK, I'm gonna state it differently then.....THAT makes the average guy cry! I hope the month of riding helped make up for some of it.

  21. Tip #1 is the best one I think. 28 days with one day off?.....you suck, you realize this don't you? ;) This is the kind of post that makes the average guy cry LOL!
  22. LOL, this flatlander is in Sun Valley right now, you know, the land of the 3400 foot vertical runs. It's day 4 and today I had to take stop a whopping 10 (ten!) times coming down warm springs in the afternoon. I think I have some necrotic quad muscles. My CPK has got to be thru the roof. My theory is that it's the deep burn that kills you, busting out 300-400 vertical feet then taking a short rest....well, it's my theory for this trip.
  23. SES in the US....better make it 18 LOL
  24. LOL, this is funny because I haven't been to a place with a real black run since last season. I've been honing my technique here in the midwest. Got out to Boise last night and managed to get to Bogus Basin. Crowded, quite firm snow (some said ice), and even hit a rock or two. Acing a moderate run is great but there's something about a slope just a little steeper....
