  1. -This board has been sold, thanks for looking- Hi Everybody, I have a Donek 175cm GS board...the Behle 175cm board on the specs page http://www.donek.com/specs.htm in a nutshell, 175cm long, 13m sidecut, 27.86cm wide at the tip and tail, and 23cm wide at the narrowest point of the waist. It has a "Donek Flex" of 9.0. Now for the history...I bought this board last year in really excellent condition, have ridden it 5-6 days. It's still in good condition, a few surface scratches in the base but very light, edges are still perfect. This board came with a great texture to the base and it's still in excellent condition. The top of the board looks good, a few marks from the heel of my boot in between the binding holes but in good shape overall. Let me know if you need any additional pictures or information, I'd be happy to provide anything you need. I bought it for $300 and thought it was a really good deal then, after 5-6 days of riding I am pricing it at $250 plus shipping to the continental US. Thanks :) Joe Frost PS if you would like to check out my ebay feedback it's "Fastskiguy"
  2. LOL, a lot of us got hit in the last week-and-a-day, the 700 billion $ adds a lot of salt to the wounds. Maybe it's time to go "all in" and when it shoots up, sell and buy a metal donek!
  3. Personally, I dig the way they are pushing the limits but in it's current form it doesn't look all that stable....or even safe (yikes!) That inside knee looks vulnerable. The problem with extreme carving on skis is that you have the whole inside of your body that gets in the way when your laid out-you just can't do what a snowboard can do. I figured....can't beat 'em, better join 'em LOL :)
  4. I had no idea there was skiing there! My wife wants to move south....if we have another tough winter here in the midwest then I might really NEED a place like this LOL! I signed the petition too.
  5. Tried on my account too, this was the incentive to make a long and crazy password instead of a simple one so maybe it was a good wake-up call.
  6. I forget exactly how it goes but two in a prius is better for the environment (I think) than two in a full jet but it's pretty close I think. As far as time, chicago to the continental divide is a little over 1000 miles. If you fly to Denver, get thru rental car hell, and everything goes perfectly (no delays, bags make it, rental car hell goes OK, etc.), sometimes you can hit the slopes at Loveland by noon. Once in awhile 11:30. But you have to get up at 2:30AM to make it an things have to go just right. My dad and his buddy are into driving it, leaving at 4AM, getting to Denver by 6-7PM, getting a good night sleep, then hitting the snow on day 2. So it can be worth a solid half day if things go just right. You're wrecked by the night on day 1 but you've gotten some riding out of it. Coming home...well you can usually go until 1 or 2, buzz down to Denver, make it to Ohare by 11PM, then home by 1AM so you can get another 3/4ths day in at the end vs. driving. My dad and his buddy will ski until 3PM, drive until 10PM, then finish up getting home the next day. They drive the speed limit in his caddie and get about 25mpg for the whole trip and don't ever feel totally strung out from air travel and getting up at 2:30am, getting home at 1am. So if it's a 5 day trip, I guess us in Chicago are stuck flying but if it's a week, driving starts to look really good.
  7. 195# and blue all around here. Got some brand new, never used yellow long springs up for grabs!
  8. Hay man, great video, now I've got the fever bad...and it's only August!
  9. Yeah, I used to be like "WTF?" when somebody trotted down the aisle with two big carryons, obviously oversized. Now I think that'll be common. I say...maybe it's time to fly first class?
  10. Not super hi res LOL but it was some of my best carving. It's funny how it's hard to get those perfect days...the right light, the right snow, light crowds, and time off of work to enjoy it. Oh yeah, and somebody with a camera to grab a picture at just the right moment. The pictures in this thread are really great!
  11. You've got a soft setup, I'd go FC or Blade for a hard setup. I have both...they're different but I love'm! I've got an axxess too....it's good but will be on the selling block next season.
  12. I've got a 180 medium as a super flyweight clyde (195# in the nude!) and it's just right, the stiff would be better for a full on clyde but not totally sure about 275#.....
  13. Can't fix'em with wax IMO, gotta have them stoned...then wax'em every friggin day so it doesn't happen again. I had better results from the whizzard than from my fancy swix iron.
  14. Now surely you saw my TD2 when we rode together....or maybe I crashed to much for you to see it....?
  15. Now that's impressive! Well over 3 million feet! 15 boards and the number of runs for each! I'm just amazed!
  16. 3.4 million in one year, man, I'd have to go ski/snowboard/alpine/tele to keep the body going that much. But I'd love it....
  17. Wimper here, 4 days in utah with some sweet pow, then the two last days in wisconsin with a thin layer of granular over irregular refreeze, I felt like a god then like a puddle of mud, now for an 8 month break. Dang! But I had a greeeeaaat season to look back on, totally fantastic!
  18. Now that's an original idea, slip runs on the carving hill, just like on the race hill!
  19. Only a real asshat *wants* to ruin somebody else's fun and not everybody has L33T SKILLZ so "if you could ski, the ruts wouldn't be a problem" isn't exactly productive. Yes the management could have been a little more creative with their solution but it's a tough problem-Alpine snowboards should be allowed to rip it up but not at the expense of other uses. Hard carving shouldn't be a crime! But compared to the terrain park, the liability of our tracks has got to be a pretty small...and completely solvable...problem. TC and Zoom said it better.....
  20. I'm surprised and not surprised at the same time, the big ruts do trip up novice riders and skiers and could be considered a hazard. Of course they aren't *that* dangerous, like straightlining, out of control riders or skiers. Too bad they could just designate a couple of carving runs, a couple of terrain area (with dangerous steel rails and gap jumps and stuff) and call it good.
  21. Where were you guys 9 pages ago!!!! I WANT THAT 1/2 HOUR OF MY LIFE BACK!
  22. One day, as if by magic, your heelside will be better. After that point your toesides will never catch up.
  23. LOL, just like when I called the G-spot a myth! OK, I'm a believer as of right now! Thank YOU!
