    Donek Rev 157

Added specs above. Flex is similar to custom boards built for me at 150#.

    Donek Rev 157

$275 plus shipping to US only Sidecut: 7.5-10.5m Waist width: 19cm Bought used in 2019 so don’t know how old. Gently used
  3. @1xsculler Good on you. Recommended progression at Snoqualmie after Holiday: 1. Outback or under chair at Silver Fir. First 100' vert pitch will be too steep, but rest is longer and narrower than Holiday while still mellow. That will force you to tighten your turns without worrying about pitch. 2. Dodge Ridge at Summit West. Wider and a little steeper. 3. Pacific Crest at Summit West. A little steeper still and a pitchier section at the end that you can avoid. @Soultrencher rides there often
  4. For flights, I pack both SB/HB boards and SB boots in board bag, and HB boots in boot bag. This keeps board bag under 50# limit.
  5. I have given up on trying to find the holy grail of SB boards. You just have to decide where you want to compromise. A few observations this season: Amplid Surfari is my daily driver. A great all around board that can ride powder and bumps. Carving performance is above average. Fullbag Diamondblade is a better carver. I can ride it in bumps, but it's more work than I prefer. Coiler Contra (@crackaddict's board) is the best SB carver I've ever ridden. Didn't try this off-piste, but suspect more compromises as an all-rounder. All ridden with Malamute boots and Now O-Drive bindings. Not as stiff as Jame's boot/binding setup, but above average stiffness, and I feel it's versatile enough for any style of riding. The board is the main differentiator IMHO.
  6. Skier says to me, "Watching you ride almost makes me want to try snowboarding. Almost."
  7. I replaced with Now O Drives. My concern was less about the overall stiffness and more about how tightly I can crank the straps while still being able to step in easily. I like my bindings snug, and I was fussing with the Supermatics almost as much as regular bindings. I actually decided to keep these on my teaching board when I don’t mind running looser straps, and bias towards quick entry/exit.
  8. Nice turns, James. What run is that?

    UPZ red tongue

    Looking for size medium. Thanks.
  10. I am trying to find some red UPZ tongues, but don't see any NA options. https://upzboots.com/ has been under maintenance for months, and no response to an email to Dan Yoja. Are boots and parts only available from Europe these days?
  11. (Admin edit - this thread started as a for sale listing)
  12. Nice! What run is that?
  13. I finished a set of turns at a cat track where a guy had been watching. When I pull up to him, he says “you’re an artist”. Made my day. Glad he didn’t see the crappier turns I made further up the run.
  14. Snoqualmie requires ikon reservation. Bring something for powder. It’s supposed to be a good week.
  15. Beware the weekend crowds. Generally I avoid hardbooting on weekends at any of the local resorts. Also Crystal requires a parking reservation on weekends.
  16. Where are you seeing link lever compatibility for non-Backland boots?
  17. @pow4everAny chance you will be there on Jan 27? Riding solo on Friday. Haven't decided where, but leaning towards Snowbasin. Might be there Sat-Mon with a ski buddy, but might not be hardbooting if there's new snow.
  18. I run size 8 and there is definitely room to spare. Think your 9’s will be fine.
  19. If they are anything like the Hovercraft/Ultracraft, which Jones gives top rank for "high speed carving", I would avoid. Great for pow, but utter crap for carving anything but hero snow.
  20. Only spent half a day on hardboots there, but found lots of wide groomers off Swift Current and Ramcharger. Ambush and Ambush Meadows runs were among my faves.
  21. Bat or no bat, there are situations when the release mechanism gets jammed. The arm in the photo is in the open position and can be blocked from moving downwards. I have only ridden for two days. Day 1 with heavy powder and freezing mist resulted in jamming about 50% of the time. Day 2 with dry powder was fine. Anyone else experience problems with releasing?
  22. Nearest insert distance is 15”. Longest insert distance is 21-1/4”. It’s quite stiff. Only a little softer than my Rev 157. 90-130# is my guess for ideal weight range.
  23. My son has outgrown this. Great condition. $180 plus shipping.
  24. @JRAZZ Can the highbacks fold down for travel?
