bigwavedave
Shot this yesterday at Spirit Mt. I like the way it came out. It's just us old guys making some smooth carves on perfect cord, nothing fancy, but I think it captures the mood of a typical morning for us. Normally our last weekend at Spirit, but the snow's so good, they're staying open til we stop showing up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFeAR4t2sK4&list=UUwxXgnOFnEXeyYTFlI4lrAw&feature=share

Corey
Looks fun Dave! Next time I'm in St. Cloud for work I'll have to try to make it over to Spirit for a day. I didn't realize there was something good/decent so close to St. Cloud!

khoward
Another great video. Having some good runs at Copper, but it's hard to get much better than first chair at Spirit. Some fresh snow here overnight and thinking about riding the Rossi Alpine with softboots. Ken
bruincounselor
I agree it's hard to beat morning cord in the midwest. I wish I could get over there more often. Edited March 31, 2014 by bruincounselor
bigwavedave
Thanks for the comments. Cory, definitely worth bringing a board with you next time you're in St Cloud. Just post on the Spirit ride board when you're coming. Often patroller rwmaron has lift passes for visiting carvers. Spirit is the Buttermilk of the mid-west, gentle open terrain, great grooming and room to carve.
Corey
Geez, I've been going to St. Cloud about once a year for 8+ years, didn't even think to check for hills nearby. They look like wide runs! I'll give it a shot for next season.

The park has 20 foot piles that last year lasted till May 24 th. Thanks for the pick me up ! Edited April 1, 2014 by lowrider
khoward
Official word is Spirit will be open through Sunday 4/6 and day by day after that depending on traffic and snow conditions :)
