GeoffV
yeah she is right up there with the rest of the the top carvers. I rode for an afternoon with Steph and her friend Amy who rides at K-Mart. I had to bow out early as my legs gave out I couldn't keep up with them anymore. Donek
I shot a bit during the contests, so there aren't a lot of images, but I got a few nice ones. For those who weren't there, the snow cover was incredible. and here's a few from the 360 contest. fishrising
Nice pics Sean! I've got a ton of learning to do to shoot well in the snow...your colors are awesome, even in the black you can see textures, against the white snow...unlike my blacks... They look either underexposed or like they have too much contrast. I pretty much always shoot snow in raw. I typically overexpose 1 to 1.7 stops. They should look blown when you take them and have some blinking highlights. In raw they can always be backed down if it's too much, but you've captured the detail in the riders face this way. I reset white balance based on the snow in the foreground usually and set a white and black point. I had to selectively boost contrast in the snow on some of them as well.
