  1. Got one of the classics at Sunapee the other day. Ski Patroller at lift: "Do you like those bindings?" Me: "Yup! Great for deep carves" Ski Patroller at lift: "Do you snowboard too?"
  2. Me in race boots and a 165 BX popping front bail. Skier: Hey look! There's a Crossover Board. I could totally do that.
  3. Last week at Sunapee, gaggle of skiers staring at me getting off the lift and clipping in. She: What IS that? He: That's a Ski Board. You can't do ANY tricks on it. She: Really? He: Yup NONE.
  4. Thanks All. Waiting for the story....
  5. Good luck Michelle! Always thought you were the greatest! <3
  6. Nice Woody! I can't tell, is it a square tail?
  7. Not mine and slightly overpriced, but these light, flexy, comfy all day, UGLY Nordica SBH boots are the stones for soul carving and hiking. Gilmore approved. I love mine, if these were my size I'd be watching them. Or emailing an offer. I wish they still made them... http://www.ebay.com/itm/271399424299?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  8. sweet tanker porn! Thanks sandy!
  9. Sorry to ( just ) hear this! Your carve videos are truly inspirational!
  10. Bry if you do the deal, I'll trade you 2 NEW regular blue burton dampers for the supposedly harder grey ones.
  11. PSA, not mine. 3 strap binders are somewhat rare. Price is way off. http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/spo/4281189952.html
  12. Yeah, no air between turns...there must have been some great ejections with that thing!
  13. Has anyone tried peak 6? The top looks nice but the bottom looks pretty flat from what I can see. So many cat tracks, so little time.
  14. What no pic? Isn't your colection still online somewhere? Great info. Sounds similar to the carving rig that Gilmore took into the trees a few years back. Teleboard maybe?
  15. Thanks for the input. I'll see if I can put it to use. Once again I certainly don't WANT to ride flat. Most ski resorts have snowboard-unfriendly flat places...where you have to get as much speed as possible by riding flat (sometimes closely surrounded by idiots) to get past a section to avoid having to unclip and walk. It also sucks that it's all that I can do to keep up with my wife on the flats...:) It feels like I'm balancing on a loose railing and she just glides along at warp speed like I normally do on the Tanker.
  16. Thanks for the replies. The base has a Ski MD tune done by the racer I got it from. (He had like 10 of them) and the board looks brand new. I've only ridden it a few times. Here are the specs. Metal, Vario Camber ( wth is THAT?)..I'm not sure if this is a lot of taper....but if it's normal sketchyness at least I know. I sort of figured the 12m sidecut would make it feel longer. It feels pretty hooked in carving..really slices. I was going to bring this board to Breck in a few weeks and enjoy the benefits of traveling/hiking with a small board, but there is so much flat there...no way.
  17. My go-to board for years has been my Tanker 192 with f2 or B plates. It's so easy and surfy to carve on and freeride it's ridiculous. On long cat tracks I just point the board, relax and ride flat...no issues no effort. I picked up a F2 Eliminator 165 WC BX. I find it damp and fun to carve with no stability issues and great edge hold on the slopes... but going fast on cat tracks or other areas where you ride flat ( that you end up on at most resorts ) it's SUPER squirrelly. It doesn't pull to the left or right or feel like I'm too far forward or back it just feels sketchy and doesn't seem to have a sweet spot where you can just relax and not worry about catching an edge. Like a boat without a rudder. Right now I just don't use it unless it's to icy for the Tanker. Is it just the shorter running length I need to adapt to? Maybe screw with my bias? I run the same stance width on both...Anyone?
  18. too funny. what do these say? ( especially the the sled chick with the cold buns blowing her helmet off )
  19. Thanks guys. Here are some more. No more old ladies in army boots and scarves?
  20. Found this carving pic on the web, but don't speak the lingo. Anybody? Olympics I assume? (Eventually my eyes were drawn to the laces...softboots?!!!!!
  21. Here is an annoyingly long jibstick video comparing different jagged edges on actual ice. It was interesting to see the different board shapes. I was surprised to see an asym... Unfortunately CMC never shows up with an original Madd 158.
  22. WTF? This really sounds kind of dangerous... My brother in law got his rotator cuff smashed by a hit and run Jibber doing blind jumps and was down for a long time, but it might have been fatal with a 145 cm steak knife. Though now I wonder if a magna edged board might be just the thing for carving ice coast steeps without gaining too much speed.
  23. You have 2 styles of dampeners..both wrong for your particular generation of race plate. If you don't use the right ones, the bolts will gouge your top sheet. You might find someone selling the correct ones here, but it would be easier to make your own out of gasket material or wetsuit neoprene. Be careful of that style base plate...the threaded holes can strip out easily, especially if you take them apart a lot.
