AaronG
If it wasn't for the 5 feet of snow that we received over the last week that sounds like a Southern California weather report for our mtns. The thing about SoCal is, we get 4-5 feet of snow and the highways close, the resorts close and makes it dang near impossible to get to the ski areas. Chubz
We got that last weekend BB, RESULTS??????? loose granular with those hidden pockets that cause instant thigh to chest or chin compressions. Depending on your grooming to freezing temp ratio, you can expect loose granular or razor cord. We are swimming in sugar down here. BLAH!!!! Jack M
Removed "Southern". It is raining sideways in the mountains of Maine. :( Damn glad I took an impromptu day off on Friday to get some. Sugarloaf was a perfect 10 that day. Dave ESPI
"give me 4 inches and hurt me where it counts!" SO it rained and washed all the snow away..... My heart aches now :( 4 inches is my fave measurement for Stiletto heels on the cougar ladies... not the rain guage. Had an epic weekend of snow conditions and I definatley am not looking forward to riding Boilerplate next weekend before heading out west... because returning back to the east will be depressing; I know what will be waiting @ the local hill for Presidents week. :(
BlueB
You are experiencing now what shut down our local hills 10 days ago. :(
pebu
We've just had about a week of 35-40 degrees. Windy. Rain yesterday. My driveway is about 6 inches of heavy heavy slush. Not heavy enough to hold up the car, but heavy enough to be really hard to drive through. Sucks.

It's rare that rime ice grows that thick around here. I'm not sure I've ever seen it like this.

jpenn
The moguls tuesday were the best i've had this season. I would almost call them epic and they were right here in CT
Ear dragger
no need to be all bummed out. It's one day of rain, with snow and cold temps for the rest of the week. The mountains can recover very easily. I'm sure it will be fine by thursday as far as good carving is concerned.

Ernie00
further up north in Quebec it's not better.. hard rain all day. Most of the mountains where closed today and with a lot of thin coverage I'm not sure how it's going to look later on this week.
