big canuck
Fin, FINALLY!!!!! they look killer bud, very nice work. No step in version....? Dude, I'm fat and cannot bend over!!! Is that coming down the pipe? Looks like there should be a lot of hype on these. Congratulations, they look awsome. K
KingCrimson
Beautiful! I have to say, a snowboard rig with moving parts is a thing of beauty. That said, some things were unexpected. Why is there no adjustability in the roll stiffness? I'm surprised that it's dictated solely by the durometer as opposed to some such as a shim to preload the E-Pads. Edit: Furthermore, the design lends itself to this. It's not mounted like a guitar pickup, there doesn't appear to be any native compression when you're standing in the neutral position. BlueB
When is the retro kit going to be available? Would it fit onto TD2 plate?
jonbass
They look awesome. As they use a lot of the TD3 parts, I'm surprised that they are so expensive. I guess that this is due to the limited run.
Buell
Ordered a set! Thanks Fin.

Hans
No step in version....? Dude, I'm fat and cannot bend over!!! Is that coming down the pipe? Pitty, but this would be of no use since the heel of the boot is fully standing on the adapterpins and doesn't have any movement. The the front of the boot is also fully fixed by the intec frontbail. So no USD to spend here this season.
martyagt4
Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no reason why these couldn't be used as a step-in. Obviously there would be a little redesign on the sole blocks.
martyagt4
It's amazingly simple looking too. Surprised it took this long for it to be realized.
b0ardski
A steel reciever block built as the pivot plate should be easy enough, simple & secure:biggthump like Canuk, I don't like bending over or stepping in heel first, so even if I had the $$ I'd wait for the stepin version. Nice work the tech & bling factor is over the top:biggthump
RCrobar
Hi Fin The SideWinders look just excellent! Interesting how some of the bests ideas seem so simple ... after someone else has spent a billion hours working and thinking about it! Feels a bit like the old Emery Surf bindings from years ago have just been reborn with sound design, engineering and beautiful craftsmanship! Our small alpine world or riders is lucky to have Fin and his team working hard for all of us. Question - Is it possible for one of the Bomber staff to post an exploded view of the Sidewinder, it isn't clear to me how the E-Pads are changed. Enjoy your time off! Rob PS - It will be interesting to see if the SideWinder ends up on the podium in 2010?
BlueB
When you look at the TD models, there are more differences between TD3 and Sidewinder, then between TD2 and TD3 ! Shouldn't Sidwinders simply be TD4 ?

RDY_2_Carve
A pair of these would be in my cart right now if there was a step-in version. :(

I tought that red part will swing right to left? so front should not limit it working with step in. So bolting standard step in above that rear red plate would allow it also swing. And only thing to worry is to take care of height difference between front and rear parts, or?
BadBrad
I got a TD3 step-in kit to use with my TD2 bindings to give some more of that flex. I'm thinking now that the Sidewinder with the lower TD2 e-rings might be a good combo for me. It would give me more lateral flex but not raise me higher up off the board. But how can we manage the height of the rear/back part with the intecreceiver? Because there has to be some cushoning under too otherwise the system has no use. BlueB
It looks to me that it would require a new heel reciever... a) One that bolts on top of the existing red part (which doesn't have the holes to recieve the additional part), or b) One that would repalce the red part and would have the anchor swivel points at the bottom, just like the red part... Option A would cause height difference between toe and heel pat, so another shim would be needed under the bottom of the toe contraption. big canuck
I want the extra height.
Snowman
Height is the big hold back at the moment. I forget how tall it would be with currnet parts available but it was up there. It's being thought about alot! So stay tuned!
big canuck
I could be a tester!!! I'm "husky" and I can do a wicked heelside turn!!!::D
leeho730
Fortunately I've milled the cant disk of TD2 by 3mm... and if I understand correctly, the TD2 e-rings are about 4.5mm thinner than td3 rings. Now I want to buy one and fit it into my super-low TD2 disks!
Call me jack
i just read about them this morning. i'm super into the idea of them, and would probably buy a pair, if i wasn't thinking about buying a new board, instead... *cough* i just hope they have good demand, so i can possibly buy them at a later time. leeho730
Oh bugger, I just bought them.... I also happen to have TD3-ish TD2, so I will review both normal and sidewinder versions from July to September this year (that's winter for us). I hope it is as good as Nils said...
