Actually.... "Gapers" (should really be "gappers") are named for the gap between their hood and goggles.

I like the first one, but I would change the layout. Don't divide it into quarters. Maybe you could have the top 2/3rds of the page split in two. On the left you would have the railroad, and on the right the carve picture. And on the bottom 1/3rd there would be the snowboard pic w/ all the specs + info. Edit: acutally, just use it as you have it, but combine the bottom half into one frame.

It was standard. Last year there was a similar pattern which was replaced by this pattern. I would have actually preferred the old one.

was the board custom made for you? If so, why does it matter how little you weigh?

I am taking my sister boarding tomorrow and I have 3 boards to give her: an Alp 164, Amp 6.0, and Liquid Arc 164. She weighs 112lbs. We flexed the boards. The Alp, which has only been used once, is the stiffest. The others are used more, and they both were a bit softer, about the same between them. I think the correct board would be the Amp... it's the shortest, but still almost as tall as she is. She'll probably be using softboots.
