  1. What kind of bindings did you get? If they are TD2s, you can ask Fin to send you longer base plates. I don't know if that's also true for TD1s.
  2. I was wondering if anyone has a problem with rusted inserts. Twice now with a new board I took it out one day and left it for a day and a half without removing the bindings, and I got a little surface rust on the inserts. My Alp got rust in the bottom of each insert, even the ones that had screws. On my Speed, I left the board against a wall and the bottom half of 2 open inserts, where the water would collect, got rust. Are you people in the habit of removing your bindings after each session? I don't know if screwing them tighter makes a seal, I don't really screw them down tight right now.
  3. You do realize it's an April Fool's joke, right ;)
  4. By about 1/2 mm. I noticed when I was trying to adjust the heel blocks, and when I moved the block all the way back, the screw on one side wouldn't rest against the end of the groove while the other one was. I compared this screw with the other 7 M6x12's, and found that the head was smaller by about 1/2 mm, and the threads looked different... although they function the same. Anyone else get something like this?
  5. someone posted last week, the Alp has an extruded base with something mixed in that helps hold wax.

  7. Thank you Bricky of the Carvefathers for the impromptu lesson. I got 6 days on the mountain in my first alpine season and bricky is the first hardbooter I met (it was also my first time not at Mountain Creek). I hope to get just one more day out of this season (I have to check what happened with the snowmaking effort at MC this weekend). I want to try opening up my stance as you suggested and start the carves with my knees. Thanks again and see you somewhere on the mountain :)
  8. I want to drive up tonight so I can board tomorrow at either of these places. Does anyone want to share a room? I'll also be willing to give you a ride if you are on the way (I am starting from Long Island)
  9. This is the first hit that comes up when you search for "snow board" (include the quotes), 'cause it's a featured item.
  10. pointing out these auctions helps the community, not hurts it. I bought Raichle boots from BOL in December $50 SHIPPED. They didn't fit and I sold them for the same. The guy tried to sell them on Tahoe Carvers for $100 in January?(i think) I guess they didn't sell because now a week ago he put them on BOL for 100 PLUS shipping. I'm the schmuck for not trying to get more.
  11. Alpine boards yes (except for some older ones?), now they have a new hole system for some models with one row of inserts so you only use 2 screws.
  12. I ordered and received a board from them 2 weeks ago. '98 Alp for $160. Everything went smoothly.
  13. I also have MP30 feet. I got a '98 Burton Alp from chrisklug.com, with a 21.5 waist, and today I rode 45/45 on it with basically no overhang.
  14. Use the info@burton.com email address, that's what they used to confirm my shipping from klug's website.
  15. Is it searchable though? Can you enter something like, sidecut between 11.5-13, waist 19-20 and see a list of all such boards?
  16. I was thinking of making an online database which contains the specs of as many different snowboards as possible. It would be searchable either by board name or the specs. I got this idea because searching the classifieds I wanted to know more specs than what were given, and I often couldn't find the info online (and the person might not know either). You guys could help me out by listing everything you know about the boards you have (or know about): Year, make, model, length, nose length, tail length, running length, effective edge, sidecut radius, Nose and tail widths, waist width, setback, insert pattern, and whatever else I missed. i know there is no convention for measuring camber, but maybe if you said "it's stiffer than board x but softer than board y" we could make some sort of ranking. I'm aware that a lot of the info is availabe online, but it would be nice to confirm it, and it's usually incomplete.
  17. Don't the SB413's come with non-moldable liners? What do you mean about bootfitting? I have a pair of SB413 MP30 liners that I could sell, but they are non-moldable. One liner is missing the footbed.
  18. Just try to order and see if there is a box where you enter the country.
  19. How was the snow in Greece this year? I left after last season, and it was one of the worst ever. A couple days ago I looked through snowreport.gr and I saw that parnasso had another bad season. I also went to Mainalo a couple times last year, have they put a new lift there yet? I think that mountian has a lot of potential with a lift going from lodge to the top. I went to Seli and Kaimak too. I have a Coiler EC on order. It's a late fall delivery though.
  20. To me... they didn't fit, as you recall, so I sold them again...
  21. I think the Thermoflex liners can be molded 6 times. See what a bootfitter tells you.
  22. I'm sure there are several places to lube, the only one I am sure of is the toe lever. I used a toothbrush to push the butter inside the hole the bail passes through. Otherwise, there was too much friction/squeaking when trying to rotate the toe lever if it was pushed to one side. Works fine now. edit: I suppose another place is the lugs, where the bails connect to the blocks.
  23. I have a problem with my SB's that I am wondering if it will be solved... On the second strap, the top cord doesn't fit it its groove properly because part of the upper shell gets in the way... I suppose I could fix it by just cutting away at that protruding part of the shell... does anyone know what I am talking about?
  24. I meant the Camelbak.. that's why I edited my post;) I forgot to remove the key from it.
