  1. it looks good. Hope to see you next wednesday, tom. Today I had an awesome time. Unfortunatly, the bus got to the mtn at 7:30 so only 2 and a half hours of boarding but for $15, whatever. Met up with a bunch of you and saw a burton asym. got some info on kite boarding on the ride home too. :) Awesome seeing you guys there! I'll be there this friday too even if it is kinda crowded.
  2. alpine boots go for almost the same exact price as ski boots. I noticed that right away. They are almost the same, just different toe pieces. Well, there are other minor differences, but nothing that would cost alot more or less. An ok pair of boots would defintly be around $400, same as alpine boots.
  3. I wish someone told me that it wasn't too healthy. I got half a flip out of mine:)
  4. NJ ain't too bad. You guys have Six flags...and a turnpike... well my room mate is from mattawan and said tha Mountain Creek isn't too bad. Similar to MA's wachusett.
  5. pshhhh...yeah, of course. I had that baby pushing 110 horsepower with enough torque to almost lay down 3 inches of rubber on the road. Too bad when I set it on cruise control at 55 mph and fell asleep, it didn't guide itself home. and speedzilla, I like to mix machine with nature. It had a self contained ecosystem under the hood.
  6. what video game developer, if any, do you work for? or are you a free agent type? I'm not 100% sure how things work in the game industry. I belong to a website called www.tradegamesnow.com and that is where i get 90% of my games. The owner of the site worked with sid mier to make the newer pirates game, which is superb . check it out even if you're a casual gamer.
  7. omg, finally i wont be carving alone!!! I'm excited:)
  8. thats why I pray that where my career takes me, that its near tons of snow, and skyscraping mountains:biggthump alaska?
  9. hardboots defintly transmit more energy into the snow than soft boots but thats what they're ment for. there is a great deal of energy lost in the flex of the soft boot bindings and the boots themselves. For freestyle, you just don't need that much precisely targeted energy. I am new to the sport but have read dozens and dozens of articles surrounding the science of the sport. about doing jumps on plates, i'm guessing its just less forgiving to have a less than perfect landing. For softboots, the impact is absorbed into the equipment because it of its flex. For hardboots, the impact is taken into a stiff board, through the stiff boots, and gets absorbed by the person. Correct me if i'm wrong, please:)
  10. the iron man should defintly be his next step and the running would defintly be his downfall. Too bad for him and cherly, she's gorgeous.
  11. so you turned lesbian and butch?
  12. see ya there! call me up, 508 265 1974
  13. which poker service do u use? i play a bunch of them. pokerparty mostly
  14. oooo...ya you defintly could've gotten into that...but i almost lost interest by the end of that sentence:sleep: actually, all of that really interests me alot, its just way way over my head for now.
  15. you guys got some nice toys there. I'm so jealous! Motorcycles scare the sh*t outta me, but I wanna own one some day. my current summer ride is a 94 volvo 850. I gace it to my sister because she lives down the street from my college so i can use it anytime I want to get some night riding in at the local mountain. here is my old ride, 93 civic:
  16. I love my counter strike but just the original. No advanced video card on my computer. I got battlefield 2: modern combat for xbox and its simply amazing. If you're up for some counter strike, or other non-extremely high performance games, I'm in. I never really put money into my PC because I love my xbox and ps2 for gaming. You got a damn nice system though.
  17. that is probably the funnies thing ive read here! So suttle, and yet with purpose.
  18. i was told to try out my roommate's soft set up just so i can get the ankle use in. Then someone else told me to not strap my boots on too tight and apply pressure using ankles instead of only leaning. It helped out tremendously. I now put my boots on tight and completly forgot bout the ankles. Looks like I gotta try some of that out again tomorrow.
  19. Having that much arm muscle is only neccessary for mt. biking. For a stage cyclist, every ounce of muscle they have that they actually don't need slows them down, tremendously. The tour de France ends with a 23 km climb, after 3 weeks of racing. On a climb like that, an extra pound could slow someone down by 30 seconds. Thats 30 seconds spread over an hour or even several hours, but nonetheless, significant. Also, Lance has a rare condition that I have slight resemblences of. He is able to use more of the oxygen that he takes in. It came useful to him in cycling, for me it was wrestling. Skatha, were you a nuclear medicine major? many of my friends in my school are studying the same stuff you just described.
  20. a few weeks ago when we had slush, I hit my moment of zen. It was forgiving and I learned how to transition heelside to toeside turns. I was so excited. I did end up being soaked all the way through after just 4 hours of riding. My board was able to hold really well on the slush, but thats really only compared to the packed ice i'm used to riding. Hell ya for New England!!
  21. nope defintly not a strong rider. As far as riding is concerned, I'm that fat kid in 1st grade gym class that everyone hits with dodgeballs and gets picked last:p In reality, I'm pretty strong and in good shape, my riding isn't. thanks for the input. Who in their right mind would put ski bindings on the snowboard. Wouldn't the way the forces are applied force the boot to pop out? Seems rediculously unreliable to me.
  22. Hardbooter for life! Before, i was planning on getting a soft boot set up just so when I go out west, to use in powder. That was before I found out that there are powder alpine boards. As for comfort, I will defintly trade comfort for more control. My skis are in my closet for the rest of the season and most likely for alot longer than that.
  23. ya, i read an articel about it. here it is: http://www.gizmag.com/go/3582/ also, this seems much safer and just as cool: http://www.dropzone.com/content/Detailed/613.html So far, I have one jump under my belt and when the time comes, as well as the money, I will get much more into it.
