  1. some people just don't undserstand how this process works...
  2. I think he means that to post the frequency you'll be using on a particular ride board. I sometimes bring radios if friends of different skill levels tag along, since cell phone reception is usually pretty spotty on mountains. The radios have a very short range most of the time.
  3. thats my plan. Only thing that could possibly screw up being at the race is having a huge test on monday. Since that is the week before my spring break, teachers like to make us earn our week vacation. Better to have a test before vacation anyway. I'll plan ahead and study in advance so I can pull it off. I have a friend that lives 30 minutes from Whiteface too.
  4. I'll be there to see it in person! Can't wait!
  5. woke up this morning and discovered the Sessions Leatherneck on Steepandcheap for like $80. Even though I would never get a white jacket for riding since its kind of dangerous to use in snowy conditions, and the pockets get shredded of these like cheese, the price is just too right. Also, it matches my Sessions GT2 Tex pants that I bougth last year on SAC for the same price. Now I got two sweet jackets. My pants are khaki.
  6. I'll take a boot bag too, if anyone has one.
  7. the 2nd vid, the super G, is sick!!! he hit 75 mph. I gotta see one of these in person. Must be unreal. Do they do snowboard super G, or is it too dangerous?
  8. I haven't tried it yet, but I will this year. I figured that if heel lift helps on heelside turns, since it lets you drive the knee more without pain, toe lift might help on toeside...?
  9. If i go to Loon, I sometimes see 1-2 (JD is the only one i saw midweek when he's slacking on work). One weekend there were probably 6-8 of us there. I was the least skilled for sure. Learned alot that day though. I was told that I missed a weekend earlier last season with about 12 people there. Most of them can be found at the loon thread in the NH, ME, VT section. Also, they have a decent race program and I occassionally get to watch the little ones do gates. at Waterville, I ran into 2. One guy had like 20 years experience and was nasty! At Wachusett, I see the occasional carver or mistake a teleboarder for a plate rider, except for when we had Wachusett Wednesdays and were were a bunch of us there. At Okemo I ran into Ursle and Voysey. Sunday River has the occassional showing of 2-3 people, but that place is huge and I have no clue where to go to find the carvers. So far, in two seasons, I think i've met about 10 people from bomber, another 10 who were just lurkers on here, and one guy who never heard of this site. Can't wait for ECES!!!!!!
  10. I have it on my zune for when I need a little pick-me-up in class. Especially an exciting class like women's writers.
  11. so sorry for not hosting yet. These finals are turning my mind into crap. Hopefully tonight!
  12. Well they don't show streakers at sporting events on TV anymore but thats a different story. Criminals are now not allowed to profit for their crimes any more because of some law that was passed recently. The guy in American Gangster, Frank Lucas, was trialed and convicted before that law was in effect so as of now, he has taken over $1,000,000 to the bank.
  13. the only action that I'm getting on the snow is when I take my dog out for a piss.
  14. but come on, "show snowboarding rather realistically and to exhibit a real understanding of the sport" Nothing in that movie exhibits anything about understanding of the sport.
  15. what was the price, for future reference if you don't mind me asking?
  16. Thats how I feel with the Oxygen. Maybe a little longer nose and you got yourself a sweet all mountain board.
  17. ive never made a torrent but i'll make one in a few hours unless someone beats me to it.
  18. an OK movie about a resort an alaska and really has not much to do with snowboarding itself. I'm going to delete that on Wiki. plot summary
  19. out cold? are f***ing kidding me!!?!?!?
  20. i have the original mpeg, but its very far from dvd quality. Where is a website where i can host a large file like that?
  21. from what I heard, Jay Peak isn't as carver friendly as other mountains in the area. Don't know how far away you're from Sunday River, but almost everytime I go there, I run into hardbooters way better than me. Just ride with them for a few hours, and you'll learn more than you could ever dream of. I miss wachusett :-( I'll probably head out there one of these days for some night skiing. Always a good time.
  22. Last year I did some volunteer teaching and I only own a pair of hardboots. The students that knew about them loved it, especially ones with experience. None of them would even notice my difference in gear unless someone with knowledge of snowboarding would point it out, or if they saw me putting my boots on in the lodge. Having the intec really helped too, someone stated before. I used a BX board (Oxygen SX 158) and i think it was the perfect board for teaching. The basic movements and technique is similar enough in softies that it doesn't matter. If I would ever have to use softies for teaching, I'd go with Flow bindings. Go with the tanker, and shred the hill to pieces! Good luck BB.
  23. Congrats on getting a solid pair of boots. Al Gore Would be proud. For me, the original liner kind of ate away at my shin. Getting a booster strap turned out to be a good idea for me, as well as some moldable liners. That was my only problem with them. Otherwise, they kick ass!
