  1. Ice and I got in 2 1/2 hrs of nonstops in -8f temps. The baclava kept my nose warm, but was making me hungry. Today was the first time I rode the Heads in cold temps, and I need to remember to back off on the lean springs, I was experiancing major suckage on my healside until Ice figured out that our boots where frozen stiff.

On another note, 2/3 of Roulette is roped off, and there are 3 big a$$ mounds of snow being blown on to it.:angryfire :angryfire Looks like they are going to put the park back on it. I am going to have to work on those jibbing skills some more.:AR15firin :AR15firin :AR15firin :AR15firin They have mowed rookie road, we may have the Indy 500 turn to look foward to in the near future

  2. Normal winter weather returns to our beloved lovey on thurs with a high of 1 and -35f windchills, this should cut down on some of the crowds we have been dealing with lately:1luvu:, and greatly improve my attitude. Time to break out the gayda's and baclava's. So far it's the aptly named Ice and myself, anyone else?

That is one of the things that makes me nuts about early season, all of the racers sking like obliviots @ mach 10 with no regard for others on the hill. I wonder if the coaches actually spend any time on etiquette with their racers when they are riding with the general public, methinks not.

  8. Plans for Saturday or Sunday?

Sunday for me, and I think Ink and Karver Kai will be up also. Racers are still on the thick side, metaphorically as well. We should have some more carvable terrain this weekend with the six they got yesterday and the 5-10 forecast for the next day or so, and it is gunna feel like mid winter, starting out in single digits and maybe hitting the mid teens. Looks like I will no longer be confused about how to layer

  9. keep an eye on the yo lci thread, no avy beacon needed, if there are freshies I'm sure one of us would show you around the ridge, as well as zip basin. We all have season passes, so if you want, you can buy us a beer or 2. Just remember to bring lots of warm wind resistant cothing, it can get a wee bit nasty on the divide, with wind chills to more than 40 below

Ps ski area works just fine

  10. I spent the summer doing heavy squats and deadlifts without a belt, and barefoot (home gym) as well as other compound moves in an "unbraced" manner. I started my season on saturday, rode sunday as well and have not felt any of my usual soreness, and came out of the gate pretty hard.

  11. I am happy to report that our official post ride libation/energy/recovery/drink is once again flowing from the Rathskeller taps for the first time since last febuary:1luvu::biggthump

Now onto the only slightly less inportant stuff. Spillway and Richards are in awesome shape as are mambo and homerun. Right now, 6 is not quite ready for primetime, but it is getting close, and they have a nice groom laid down on Drifter, so I think lots more terrain is right around the corner.

Ice, Mono, and myself had a blast today, rode til' about 10:45 before it got to thick, not too bad for an early season day with only one other resort open, and it is only going to get better from this point on as more resorts come on line. Kress, thanks for stoppin' by, it was good to see you.

ps, those other 2 guys are already riding in midseason form:AR15firin

see some more of you mugs tomorrow

  12. I might be doing to some shwanky hotel opening in Denver Saturday night for work, but if we don't end up going...maybe I'll see if the ball and chain will bring me over (depending on how much is open; we're avoiding driving all the way over there for weekends at the moment, but I want to play!) :eplus2:

    Ang,

A whole lot of the mountain is opening today, Nix Nox, the run to the east of Richards, all the way over to your fav run off of six, roulette, will be open and ready for our desacration this weekend. So stay in town Sat night and head up in the am

    mario

Just checked loveys site, the gooming report has almost everything up to drifter open, 2 may be up and running by next weekend

  13. I'll see you at 'the table'. Have you heard a release date for the porter?:1luvu:

I just checked the TKB website and it is already back and brewed for the season, so I spect the taps are open:1luvu:, as will the mountain from nix nox to roulette by saturday,:biggthump that storm really helped get the mountain going after such a slow start. See you at the table
