  1. I'll take the ski boot din adapters if Ernie doesn't. Don
  2. Give me a call, I have like 90 inserts. 1/2 black and half translucent. I have both bits also. I live in west Arvada. We can find an eve that works for both of us and you come over and we'll drill. You can take it home and add epoxy and mount a binding to hold them up in place. three-O-3 513-9042 Don Feed the Addiction...
  3. Toko makes some inserts with P-Tex on them. Drill thru from the top first, then with the special champhered step bit drill from the bottom. Bombproof but the bits are spendy. Maybe find a shop that has the bits/inserts. Tap-in inserts must be tightly/proper size drilled to work. Personaly I wouldn't even try a tap-in insert. Way to much chance for failure/pull-out. 4. If you ever find yourself @ Loveland there is a great group of carvers there. We have a standing game Sundays and there will be 4 to 12 riders. Don Feed the addiction...
  5. It's not only your abilities involved here. What about the proverbial straightliner, the first timer yelling "I can't stop !" You would be going slower thus having less control to avoid falling. While I can appreciate your wanting to involve and introduce your young one to the joys of snoboarding, the possible repercussions could be really terrible. IMHO it's just not worth it. You also run a risk of a bad experience souring him on the whole idea. I took my son @ 2 on a mountain bike ride. A deer came out of nowhere taking us out. HUH ? on a mountain bike ? Poor kid was terrified of bicycles until he was 14. Wait one more year and then get him on his own board. Be prepared tthough... My sons first ski day wasn't all that. I spent a small fortune getting him clothed, rent skiis, get a lift ticket, etc... After 1 short slide he was done and just wanted to build a snowman. Well we built a snowman. I tried to make the experience as good as possible on future trips. As it turned out that he never caught the love, bummed me out. He does like peg scraping on a sportbike though. That's my boy ! Yo Lci!!

Didn't see any other riders, but them Mario and I were done by 9:30. My back, his trepidation about the new and improved knee, and below zero temps made for a short but sweet day. Don Feed the Addiction...
  7. On my regular Cateks I used Gorilla Duct tape, (on the heel bail), to make-up the slop on my right foot. Also, Boots can be slightly different length and out wear some over the years. If you can still step in with it on the tight side that would be best. Everything shrinks when it gets cold, so it will be a better fit on the hill. Don Feed the Addiction...

  9. I took a traditional camber Nordica "Ya Luv" powder ski and "T" nutted two six packs of 4 X 4 inserts. The insert centers are 15" and 18". I'm running Catek's. I'm using the rear set in the rear and the rear set in the front and with binding base adjustments results in a 17" stance. Binding bases have in between mounting adjustments, of course, to dial in your perfect stance. It's 185CM long 167/140/157 It has a 29M radius. Wood core and metal. Low shovel and a slight rise/round tail. It absolutely rocks in the deep. It also does very well on the soft groom. I don't know how it would do on hardpack, but why would you take it out then ? I wanted a powder specific Skwal. With a 14MM waist it is wide by Skwal standards, but it isn't made/designed for fast edge transitions or elbow dragging on the firm. I picked it out to have a high speed "surfy" Skwal for the deep/fresh. It feels very "planted" and predictable @ speed, not "twitchy" at all. Very stable feeling. I've only ridden it 3 or 4 times. I usually ride my Monoski in the deep. (the ULTIMATE powder tool) Don Feed the Adiction...
  10. Hi Greg, I sold all of the Thias Skwals. I have a custom metal Donek that I would sell for $500 without bindings. (I paid $1000), it has maybe 6 half days on it. I also have a very unique one of a kind, (only 2 in the world), powder Skwal that I would sell for $400 without bindings. I suppose either could use the Thias Skwal binding which I would sell for $100 a pair. Don Feed the Addiction...
  11. I'm thinking $100 plus shipping. Don Feed the Addiction...

    Yo Lci!!

Loveland has announced the opening day... Saturday November 1st. I'm going for a few runs. Depending on the ratio of straight liners Maybe more. Anyone else just have to make some turns ? Don Feed the Addiction...
  13. No pics of the modified Cateks. I just cut off the 1MM or so that they stuck out over the edges. I have a couple of sets of the "Thias Skwal" bindings. New or very near new. Built in approx. 3* heel/toe lift. They are 9.5 wide. NOT step-in compatible. Don
  14. I ride in Nordica ski boots. They don't have near the forward lean of an alpine hardboot. As such that's why I like more heel lift. I did have a narrower than baseplate Skwal. I just cut the sides down to match the base. Didn't hurt anything. I was advised, from Donek, to run a Lexan or simular riser on metal boards. The round binding baseplate can be a bend/break point. Don
  15. No doubt the Bombers are great bindings. I ride similar angles. Personnaly I like a little more rear lift though. I believe Ace won't ride anything else. Personally I prefer the Catek bindings. Infinite adjustments to find your own personal "sweet spot". Hard to come by tho, and no factory support. The biggest advantage, that I find, is the ability to adjust lift and cant. Also coming from a ski background I like the total stiffness of the Cateks. Don Feed the Addiction...
  16. in 'Feb of '95 I rode the "new" chair 3100 vert as I recall. Kinda steep and scary fast. I was on some big bad ass Volkl skis, conditions were hardpack, no snow in two weeks. I was first chair and rode until last chair was called. I racked up 68K vert. that day. Don
  17. If you have access to someone with a FedX account try "Greatrates.com" Last yearI was quoted $250 to ship a Skwal to Austraila, using great rates I got it done for $105 Don
  18. Google on steep and cheap. 2 days left... http://www.steepandcheap.com/gear-cache/upgrade-your-goggles Don
  19. a moment of silence for "Mr. Flacid"................................................................................. ! May it rest in peace... Don
  20. I can't answer about your RC 10's but the last pair of Technica ski boots I retired had over 700 days on them. Ski bindings had worn into the heel so much I didn't feel safe. My current Nordica's (super charger ignition), have around 400 days. To be fair that's mostly half days. You have ridden with me and you know that they get ridden hard. I've also seen two year old boots explode. Severe cold can be a factor. Poor technique can be a big factor I think that if you pay attention to rivet points, toe box, heels, etc... hopefully you will see a problem at home. Don
