  1. A mate and I are heading to Mt Bachelor in a few weeks, but we hit a nearby hill today to test out our grear. He's a softbooter with a new Incline-based board he just got in from Sean on Friday, and was totally stoked with it. I, however, found I have serious heel-lift issues in the UPZ ATBs I just got in. (Though I just barely have enough wiggle room for my toes). Any recommendations? I figured I'd ask before hitting Tognar for a home-brewed solution. THanks
  2. Unfortunatley it looks like it got lost in the mail as I never got in the package. The real bummer is my UPZ ATB boots don't fit in the standard TD2 heel bails, and I'm flying out on a snowboard trip in less than a month. :( If anyone else has some TD2 heels available, please let me know. Brice, no worries, not your fault. I'm really glad you insured the package.
  3. I was having this issue and a bootfitter took a lazer lever and shined it, vertically, on the centerline of the board -- I was well forward of the centerline, so we put in a large toe lift on the leading foot and that did the trick. A valid counter?
  4. I'll take the other set. Email en route.
  5. Just got in some used UPZ ATB boots. Unfortunately they don't fit the TD2 bindings I also just got in second hand. The way the heel of the UPZ ATB boots is designed, they don't readily fit into the rear bail. They can be coxed in, but the front bail does not clip into place. I'm thinking I may have gotten in the large sized TD2 bindings, too large for 26.5 mondo (or at least, UPZ 26.5 mondo). Thoughts on how to proceed? Can I simply get a shorter front bail and a thinner rear bail or go the step-in route? Or am I simply going to have to go for a different binding route for these boots? [uPZ 'clever' heel design]
  6. I'd love a winter-specific racegun, but despite all the plethora of manufacturers out there, I don't know anyone making 1911s with hand warmers. :D
  7. I'll take them. PM/email en route.

Thanks for sending the photos my way. I'm going to have to pass, but here's the photos for other prospective takers. :) Clickable thumbnails:
  9. Hey, didn't see a email from you, so I sent one your way to this address: provocyclist (at) gmail /dot/ com Thanks, Dan "DrCR"
  10. I lost well over a hundred bucks buying directly from a USA ebay vendor that was based on Germany. Word to the wise, if you do buy, make sure it's via a formal auction so you can leave feedback if anything is amiss.
  11. I'll take the TD2 Bindings. Edit: You don't seem to have PM or email enabled. Could you send me an email though the system so we can arrange payment, or could you post your email address (obscured to protect against spam bots)? Edit2: If it's easier for you to just email me, you can contact me at d_null [at] runbox /dot/ com Thanks.
  12. Cool. That gallery is new as far as I can remember. iirc they are giving HBing more prominence from their f2.com page too. Here's a direct link:
  13. I love this pic. I grabbed off of the F2 page early this winter. It's probably the first pic I've seen that really seems to capture the moment.
  14. Up, that's the one. Beautiful craftsmanship there! Maybe these guys would serve as a replacement. Not that my wallet could afford such an expense. http://shop.boheme.fr/snowboards/19-swallow.html
  15. Sweet. I was looking for the name of that boutique swallowtail maker...I think it started with an M. From what I remember they were a beautiful wood aesthetic like Arbor and in the 200+cm range. iirc the guy stopped making them ~'04 or so. For an upload 'dump', ftp is your friend if that's available to you.
  16. When I saw the date on this thread, I started mentally mumbling to myself asking what noob bumped an '03 thread... Had my hopes up for a second there... I was looking for www.swallowtails.org just the other day. Great dream material on there.
  17. Thanks for the post. Yeah, I thought they may have been ancient. It was $50 shipped. I may as well spend the little bit more for something of this century. Thanks, Dan
  18. I'm thinking about picking up some Drivers or Malamutes for my 4807 for pow pow days. Anyone know that year these Drivers are?
  19. That's actually the route I took. Not too expensive from Artech. I had a cheap concave board at the time (all my 'good' boards are convex ), so I just sanded it for a bit until I had about 1.5" perfectly flat area near the edges, put on a 1/87 tune via file, diamond, diamond finer, polishing stone, polishing stone finer. Totally geeked out over it. Looked like a perfect mirror. Too bad it was my cheap foam board but cause its edges handled the icepack like nothing else. Actually got a lot of shocked stares, but that may be do to HBing itself. Did put a gash in my weak-side boot when I propped up my board when on the lift though. It's been in the closet since I bought my Donek Axis second hand. My next buy will be concave or no sale.
  20. A rack is nothing without a shotgun or AR. I've run out of prop-up-against-wall room myself. I think you have inspired me to take on another summer to-do item.
  21. Never were truer words said. All of us save two are poor college/grad students though, and it would take convincing. Several have given me a ~$1k cap, sans food/rentals. We'll see...
  22. Yeah, I thought about SunValley. Plane tickets appear to be in the ~$500 range minimum though, so CO has a $150 per person edge on that front for us. Don't worry though, it's definitely on the try-at-some-point checklist. A friend's mom is a travel agent. Apparently looking too far ahead can result in higher rates. Will see what the prices are for everything come mid/late summer.
  23. MT - Whitefish / Kalispell is a new one for me. Flying into Billings for Big Sky was ~$550 for us. Denver is ~$350. So CO got the nod for this trip. Not too surprised about the MT snow report. I'm hoping lightening won't strike twice though and next year will be a good year for the west. UT - Oooh, now that I look it up to Salt Lake City would be at least as cheap as CO, perhaps cheaper. Didn't think of this until you posted. Going to have to look into it. CO - Flying into Denver is the cheapest CO route for us. The vehicle rental is pretty pricey though, at least compared to some numbers I saw for Billings, MT. I looked into Aspen/Snowmass and around $350/night was what I was seeing for a little less rubish, closeish to the slopes condo for 6 with a full kitchen. I wonder if Loveland is any cheaper. Does Loveland get hit with Denver crowds? Me not like crowds. It's annoying for a novice HBer failing to represent well. ;)
  24. Well we are limited as a few guys are still in uni. :\ I wasn't even looking at CO originally, until a friend pointed out the much cheaper airfare for us. Now just need to see if there's a good spot for us.
