  1. Thanks guys. The heels had well north of 50 days on them. Bought in 2001, used with TD1s, F2s, and TD2s. The same heels survived a crash that ripped the cant adjuster out of my boots (Raichle SB) and broke my ankle in 2002. Since recovering, I've been taking the alpine rig through the park for the past two seasons. I definitely landed pretty hard when it broke, but I know I've had harder landings and the heels were fine. I'd imagine that the failure had been in the works for a while and that landing was the last straw. Not ready to give up on INTEC yet, I still think they are as reliable as toe clips. I'll just be checking them religiously, and going easier on the air time... :D
  2. Yesterday morning I broke an Intec heel. It wasn't a total failure as the system continued to perform its primary function: keeping my foot attached to the board... I was in the terrain park and I came up just short on a table top; landed right on the knuckle. I kept the Ptex side down, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw a black chunk of plastic skittering across the run. I stopped and picked up the debris. As you can see below, I broke one of the "ears" off my front heel. The pins remained intact and functional. After an quick but thorough inspection, I jugded the heel to be intact enough to gingerly slide back to the car. I was really relieved that the heel kept itself together and saved my back leg. I'll be avoiding the terrain park when riding INTECs from now on. I'm just not sure that the plastic is strong enough to withstand a bad landing/fall. Be careful out there!!
  3. Nobody? Make me an offer on the center disks. No reasonable offer will be refused.
  4. Derf, here are the specs on the Osin. Length: 167cm Eff Edge: 142cm Tip: 26.5cm Waist: 21cm Tail: 25.9cm SCR: 10m Never ridden one, but I've heard they aren't all that stiff. Probably would fit your needs well. Quite a bit of taper means it would probably release from a carve pretty easily if you need to hit the brakes quick.
  5. Here are the specs on the 185. LENGTH: 185cm EFFECTIVE EDGE: 168cm NOSE WIDTH: 23.7cm WAIST WIDTH: 19.5cm TAIL WIDTH: 23.7cm SIDECUT: 16m BINDING POSITION: 2cm setback and the 172. Overall Length (cm): 172 Running Length (cm): 156.0 Effective Edge (cm): 156.0 Stance Width (cm): 20.0 Tip Width (cm): 23.8 Waist Width (cm): 19.5 Tail Width (cm): 23.8 Tip Height (cm): 4.0 Tail Height (cm): 0.5 Side Cut Radius (m): 14 Stance Range (cm): 45-53 Stance Offset (cm): 2.0 Weight Range (kg): 55-100+
  6. Hey Hiroshi, take your bindings and 7 screws to Global Metrics in Belmont. It isn't too far out of your way. They have a dizzying array of metric fasteners and you won't pay shipping. In fact, for one screw, they probably will charge you about a quarter. Mark
  7. $21 shipped for the disks alone. $75 shipped for the 2nd board kit. Those prices are 15% off retail. I cover the shipping because Bomber would if you bought them new. Shipping to lower 48 only. If you're elswhere, and want the full kit, I'll cover the first $5 of shipping.
  8. Like new, used 1 day. Will sell for a reasonable discount to retail or will trade for 4 hole centers. I've got yellow e-rings and 3* cant/lift disks if you want to make it a 2nd board kit. Mark
  9. Hey PhilW, I also broke a boot and an ankle inRaichle 225s. I was attached to Intec TD1s. The crappy cant mech in the SB series completely gave out. Not the typical stripping; it cracked and came apart. That left my foot firmly trapped in the lower boot without any support from the cuff. The Intec heels held up fine, but my ankle suffered a bit.
  10. Check out the thread from the old BomberOnline. http://www.alpinecarving.com/hiroshi_cant/
  11. I'm watching the Mt. Bachelor event on TiVo right now. It looks like JJA is on softies. Anyone know what he rides on technical courses? It doesn't look like the 182cm/18.5cm/15m board that Bruce mentioned above, but it definitely has the orange flames Coiler topsheet. Bruce, what does Jasey-Jay ride when he's in softies? Mark
  12. Any chance of getting the scoop on his BX and "Y course - Jeep KOM" boards? Thanks! Mark
  13. --Excellent shape. --04' Nidecker straps. --Catek strap extension installed. --Heelcup, toestrap, and board screws upgraded to Bomber 5mm allen key screws to avoid potential stripping of the stock 4mm heads. --Divots on the disks at 39* and 45* for the front, and 30* and 39* for the rear. --Extra 20mm cant/lift screws included (along with the 25mm and 16mm stock screws). --Pics available this weekend. --See them live in SF Bay Area or Tahoe.
  14. Might be on the long side, but the price is right. The Rossi is wide, about 22.5cm, 10m sidecut. The Generics is not wide (18cm?), 9.3m sidecut. Mark
  15. Just returned from my second weekend of riding unreal powder in Tahoe. Kirkwood is claiming 16 feet of fresh in the past two weeks. Heavenly says they've gotten 9 feet in the past seven days. It's been a major PITA driving up and back from the bay area, but even the NINE HOUR drive on New Years Eve was worth if for the lines I got. Hopefully, the sun will come out by next weekend and I can actually get back on the groomers!:p
  16. In my experience, lodging is cheapest in Reno, then South Lake, the North Lake. If you have low standards, you can get a room for as little as $29 midweek in South Lake.
  17. I think Randy Salzman tried to connect with you about the Kesslers the first time around. I'd guess he's still interested.
  18. find a sheet of thin rubber and cut out a donut shaped piece. Bicycle tubes work well. unscrew one of the shoulder bolts that hold the bails on and put the donut between the heel block and the lug. That should create enough tension to keep the bail up. If not, put another donut on the other side. Good Luck!
  19. We got freakishly early snow this season in Tahoe. Kirkwood was open on Saturday 10/23 (no pow) and it snowed heavily during the week while the lifts weren't turning. Saturday AM 10/30 I rode trees with my wife in perhaps 18"-24" of settled freshies. I think we were on about the 10th chair. We had friends we were supposed to meet, but they got lost on the way. I wasn't waiting! Looks like this comming weekend could be OK as well.:D , but I'm a bit worried about the traffic disaster that I will likely suffer through both getting to and returning from Tahoe.
  20. They've got 25.5cm with standard liners. LINK
  21. GB2004, there are a pair of Burton 5holes on eBay right now. I think they are what you need... eBay Link
  22. Hey Zach, post over at TahoeCarvers as well. Are you looking for guys that ride plates all the time? I'd love to participate, but my off-piste hardboot skills are still developing.
  23. Truly unbelievable. Here in the USA, our worst natural disasters have loss of life measured in the dozens or hundreds at the worst. The 1989 earthquake here in San Francisco killed 56. I just can't fathom tens of thousands dead.
  24. Hey Sean, will the new entry level carving line just be softer? Would you take a trade-in of my 171FCII? :D It's still kicking my a$$ three years later!!!
