  1. Got in this morning and couldn’t make it to Whitefish, but I’ll be there tomorrow (Sunday). Does anyone have a lot recommendation for parking and how early do you need to get there to grab a spot?
  2. Good luck. My flight out of Newark just cancelled for Saturday. I think they called it prematurely, but LGA might be more willing to wait. I lucked out and was able to get a flight out tonight.
  3. I just changed my arrival because of the same storm. So I may be hitting up Whitefish on Sunday.
  4. Really looking forward to this event and meeting everyone. Its been way too long since I've ridden with other carvers (or been out west)! Not sure if there are any soccer fans out there, but the U.S. is playing Canada in World Cup qualifying Sunday. Anyone know of a sports bar that might be willing to throw the game on a TV Sunday afternoon between Kalispell and Libby? Bad news is it'll be on during an NFL playoff game. Cheers, Jesse
  5. I have yet to hit Montage, so I can't give you feedback about them. I have been told the layout is a little weird because the top 2/3rd of the hill is flat and then the the steeper part is the very last section before the lifts. Someday I hope to check it out. I drive by it all the time and always looks fairly empty. The 2 trails I like at Elk are Susquehanna and Tunkhannock. Many of their trails are a little narrow, but the 2 I mentioned have plenty of width and follow the fall line. Not anything in the way of steps though. Blue get crazy crowded. In January and February Tuesday - Thursday are the days to ride, anything outside of that is a zoo. Come March the crowds drop dramatically (racing and ski club passes end) and its much more manageable. Nothing like lapping Razor's on a sunny March day!
  6. Agreed, this weekend and Monday will be crowded wherever you go. I'm partial to Blue (home), but Elk would be my #2 choice. I have a feeling Blue will sell out on Monday, so don't wait too long. Conditions all over the region are fantastic!!!! Blue opened up "Comin Soon" last week after the big dump, which is a trail they cut a few years ago and have yet to install snowmaking. The big joke was it would open if we got enough natural snow. Well the jokes on me because its been open over a week. It's a natural mogul run now, but if we get more snow there is a chance they will groom it. I hope so, because it would be a great craving run, super wide and progressively gets steeper. I hit Blue every weekend and the occasional weekday. If anyone wants to link some turns with another carver let me know.
  7. Blue is my home mountain and I'm there most weekend days. Hopefully I'll get a few weekdays in this winter as well. If you're heading up on a weekend let me know. I'm usually there when the lifts start a 8am and out by 11. Ride On, Jesse
  8. Considering the weather leading up to BMES we had a nice turn out. A big thank you to Glen, Eric (hands down won the farthest travelled- Minnesota), John, Greg (Making it look too smooth to carve on a boards and then repeat on a pair of sticks), Denise, Joe (won most hardcore carver and/or best husband) and Mel (thanks for sharing the video). For an “east coast” carving session conditions were not prime, but they what us east coasters call a nice challenge. Not sure if this screen shot from Mel’s video does it justice...frozen cord!
  9. It’s true, BMES is back. It’s a anyone’s guess who or what may show up!!! Looking like we will have a nice crew. Some familiar faces and some new. Should be a fun day.
  10. Sorry to hear that. Heal up fast.
  11. Little over a week until BMES!!! Got out this morning and conditions were great. If anyone has not had a chance to try many boards speak up. I'm planning on bringing some to the mountain for others to try. Probably have a few Coilers and maybe the Madd 158 (sorry, not original). Blue has a ski check right between the lodge and lifts. I'm sure if we tip whoever is running the check they would watch over our extra boards and maybe a few wrenches.

My wife says she’s a morning snow widow during winter. She puts up with so it must be love. Good to have you back bud. Also this morning was off the hook. I think I did six straight runs on Challenge to start. Perfect snow a decent grooming make for a good day
  13. BMES 2018 February 12th "Back after a seven year hiatus" It's been way too long friends. Time to get back in the groove and have a chance to ride with the collective.
