  1. Pat, good one. Guess I am too!
  2. Jose, I'm with Mark. Whatever you get, IF you are serious about Winter Driving, make sure you have (4) Winter Tires ! I'm a Blizzak :) guy myself.
  3. Sounds like the SOS unfortunately, guess I'm not missing much. It 'could' be such an Awesome place, :( it is a shame....
  4. Brad, a buddy had a box that I outfitted with the foam you use in WW Kayaks (obviously waterproof, but not cheap). Cut slots for ski's / boards and drilled decent sized drainage holes for any water to run out, worked real nice.
  5. arne, I think I may have something :) you'd like (call ink).
  6. ken, Excellent write up ! I can (as probably all newbs) relate to exactly your situation (specifically 1-4). It's amazing what we can learn from others on the hill no matter what style anyone prefers. Keep :) :) :) Smiling
  7. Hilux, tons of information here: (Search-'HSP Modifications'). The orange tonques are the softest.
  8. More often than not, I think many overdress. You get hot, you sweat. You sweat you get wet, you get wet, you are DONE ! Neat little trick I learned long ago, Anti-Perspirant Deodorant on your FEET! ARRID EXTRA DRY Cream works best for me, keeps my feet from sweating, and when you massage it in with your hands guess what, helps keep your hands from sweating also! Polypro Turtleneck and a Fleece Neck Gator work well for neck & face protection. I always find I am warmer when riding with others, just the company and conversation on the lift keeps your mind off of being cold. Once you get off the lift and start riding, I've never had an issue being cold. The bigger the SMILE & the more FUN you are having, the less chance of being cold .

    Yo Lci!!

I swear, I haven't told a sole :D....... I agree with DT ! (LS ) " Happy New Year " to the LCI Gang and the whole Bomber Crew !
  10. Terryw, ( "Where do you find that product?" ) Supplier: MSC Industrial Supply, but I'm sure it's available elsewhere, 'Lubriplate' is the manufacturer.
  11. I have always had good luck with 'Lubriplate General Purpose Food Grade Silicone Lubricant' in the 9.5oz. spray can. I use liberally on my boots (with Intecs) to keep the friction between the boot pieces to a minimum. It also helps Intec engagement, water resistance & snow and ice from sticking to boot & heel. I also spray bindings as a lubrication for heels and bails and the topsheet to try to keep snow from sticking and building up on it.
  12. Jack, that IS some scary stuff ...... Glad to hear YOU & YOUR FAMILY are OK. Wishing everyone involved a rapid & full recovery..........
  13. D-sub, good to hear from you ! We miss ya man, hope things are going well, drop in more often !! Happy Holidays to You & ALL of the 'Bomber Family' !!!
  14. two_ravens, Whatever you do, KEEP SkES ! Last years events and write-ups were some of the the best :) since I've been on Bomber ! It's a shame :( to hear about Snow King, hopefully someone will keep it open. Maybe 'O' will 'bail them out' and have you and casper run it !?!
  15. Dave, glad to hear you are OK! It's a shame :( it is so crazy on the roads at this time of the year. Wishing Everyone :) Safe & Happy Holidays...........
  16. Just heard from a 'bud' that BM is looking 'very promising', can anyone confirm, hopefully I can come out & play soon .........
  17. I'm with you Scotty! But I have an excuse, I'm too old, fat and lazy :), and I want my $$ worth, so I want to use the whole trail ! But man them Bowls (what trails?) out there in Colorado :D Country are the SWEETEST !!
  18. Petrol, just curious, do you have bony 'extremely bony' ankles? Just wondering if you gave them enough time to conform to your foot? The liners should say 'Heat Moldable' right on them. You may want to take them to the shop where you bought them and have them molded to you feet. I'm far from a boot fitter, I've just always been lucky, but believe you need time in them for them to conform to your feet. Good Luck, I think when you get them fitting right, you'll be very happy.
  19. scrapster, I've done the modifications & BTS on several pair of HS & HSP boots so got to handle pretty much all of the tongues. Although I never had them all 'in hand' at the same time or used a durometer on them from what I remember : Orange was the softest (most flexible) Black was in the middle, and Silver was the firmest. Nice way to be able to 'tune' for what you want, personally I like the bedroom slippers (orange) to each their own
  20. OK Ladies and Gentleman, lets hear your 'Travel Tricks'. How do you deal with drying equipment / clothing for the following day when traveling and staying in a motel seemingly NOT equipped for such activities I always travel with my Homemade Boot Dryer that handles my boots and gloves, but what about everything else? In the past I always carried a 1/8" nylon clothesline (and still do) to string across the motel room to hang clothes on to dry. Problem lately seems to be no where to attach the line. Seems motels got it pretty well figured out so you don't have the ability to attach anything anywhere! Last time out I had to use an Ironing Board that I unfolded and used as a clothes hanger, this time (same motel) NO Ironing Board . A tiny 30" clothes rack (that you can NOT remove the hangers from) located far enough away from the heater to make it worthless to use for drying. Procedure was: return to motel, Crank Up the Heat as high as it would go, push a table as close to the Heater (forced hot air, electric) as I could get it and put as much clothing and equipment on the table as close as possible to heater to dry. Jump in shower or tub, get dressed and head out for dinner while everything cooks. When I return, rotate clothing / equipment that still needs to be dried and deal with the heat as long as possible. Turn down the heat so you can breathe and hope everything is dry in morning. There has got to be a better way, lets hear your recommendations and what works for you !
  21. FYI: I personally always loved :) the Burton SI. They are 'boot specific though', but the Burton boots (Drivers & Rulers) always fit me well and were firm to my liking :) .. I got some 'really good deals' on Boots and Bindings (with Carbon Fiber highbacks) off of ebay just before I started hardbooting (still new in closet). You can lock the highback, then use a Booster Strap around the top of the highback & boot for that instantaneous transmission of power feel ... JMO / jp1
  22. Have to agree the HRRW is the way to go for me! I knew it worked well in Pennsylvania conditions (posted above) but recently had the oppertunity to try it in Colorado, powda. Fast, (too fast for me) and lasts like crazy in those conditions :) :).

    Yo Lci!!

LCI, I just want to say " THANKS EVERYONE " !! I had a Great Time again (except for the tree @ A-Basin) ..... I thought I was above the tree line Loveland was absolutely AWESOME @ 70+% ! I'll have to check my notes when I'm awake to mention everyone, but it was a Great time for the 2nd year. Lotsa carnage this trip, hope everyone heals up well and quick ! Always cool to see an 'Alpine Snowboard Shop' (Bola's) All Boards Sports actually and Mr. Wizard's (Fin's) 'Bomber Shop' is only surpassed by his Engineering Marvels. What a Beautiful area
