My personal boots (Stratos) are Transparent Grey, I've also done the (Stratos Pro) Orange and Black. I was surprised at the differences in sanding grinding and drilling the different colors. I'd have to look back (SEARCH) the arcives myself to recall which were harder to work with. No big deal though, if you're only doing one pair, you'll never know the difference .

I've done several pairs of Head's with no (known) issues to date :). The plastic is 'flexible' if anything, and varies with the different color of the boots believe it or not! Be very careful, the drill bit WILL want to 'suck' into the material , you will have to 'hold it back' once the bit is started. If you do a SEARCH on BTS HEAD MODIFICATIONS I think you will find everything you need to know :). Also make sure you pay attention to the Bottom Mount Area, and clearance as needed, or you will get splits (cracks) there.

While experimenting with a system, all I heard was,"they are too heavy". Does anyone know the actual weight's (total weight with hardware) of the different Plate Systems available? Apex= Hangl= Vist= HFP= Others= Thanks-jp1

While I am only a recreational (intermediate at best) rider, I pride myself on taking care of my equipment. Since 'Rays Way' was recommended to me by SkiMD that's all I have used. I was a little hesitant about trying the Hot Rod wax that I received at ECES since the Directions with it were specific about 'Hot Waxing & leaving it on Heavy'. After contacting 'HRRW' asking about use with 'Rays Way' figured I'd give it a try. I tried it instead of the Dominator Zoom Graphite (All Temp) that I have been using all season (and was very happy with) and believe it to be as good if not better. Being that I wax everyday (since it's so simple and fast with Rays Way) it's hard for me to tell how it 'holds up' other than looked like it had less wear than the Zoom. Granted it was the end of the season and conditions were soft, no one was 'gliding past me' on the flats where usually noticable. My next wax purchase will be from HRRW.

Also Sunshine Cafe (Blue River Special) enough for breakfast & lunch at the mountain, Dillion Dam Brewery (Pale Ale & Burgers), and of coarse Jersey Boys Pizza & Deli for some real Pizza (they even had Pork Roll ). Don't forget to take Rt.6 instead of the Interstate for the scenery :biggthump

Maybe (just maybe)the recreational rider doesn't necessarily need the same things in a 'Plate System' that a racer does How about separate plates front and back, allowing the board to flex torsionally with 'recreational riders input' .

valsam, 4mm=.1575 inches, slightly thinner than 3/16" which=.1875 inches. 1/4" (.250 inches) = approximately 6.35mm, so I would guess that it is available in 6mm (and thicker), you just have to find where it is available in your area. Good Luck..........

If you liked the difference the spacer made, you may want to try a thicker Polycarbonate? I believe you want something that flex's and returns with the board, which the Polycarbonate will do. I've used 1/8" & 3/16" when I didn't really want to change the boards ride characteristics (just protect the Titanal Topsheet) and 1/4" when I wanted to try making the board ride stiffer. 'Try experimenting with different thickness' :) Polycarbonate is easy enough to work with and inexpensive.
