  1. Did you make that graphic @scottishsurfer? If so, wow, very creative.

    Auctions?

I had mentioned briefly in another thread that auction-style listings are now fair game. I don't mean linking to eBay, I mean running an auction right here. I hadn't given it much thought because I personally have no issue with them, but apparently some find auctions distasteful. So what do we think? Yes/no? Feel free to chime in. *There's no actual mechanism for running an auction here, but it could easily be done by declaring a deadline and taking the highest bid by then.
  3. Sort of. I do weekly beer league which is Nastar, on a competitive team, and then I'll do USASA Maine Mountain Series if it works with my schedule. I use my 168 for SL and 180 for GS and I don't have a plate so I guess I can't be called serious. Oh and I use Bomber bindings, so I'm definitely not serious. ? I've been at the top of some podiums in open class, and I had a great Nastar season this past winter. I'm considering an Apex X-Plate for next year. EC boards are typically wider, like 23cm waist. Indeed this will be a do-everything, go-to board. It will replace my Nirvana Energy 174/20/12-14, which is an awesome board too, but I'm just playing the field, so to speak. I told Kessler I love my 168, so I want this board to be like that board, only 7cm longer and 2m longer in radius range. 205mm waist just because. I've had 21cm boards and 20cm boards, figured I'd try the middle.
  4. I feel your pain. Custom Kessler Alpine 175 shipping this week. 205mm waist, 10-14m sidecut. The struggle is real.
  5. Hi Al, The amount of photos that have been posted to these forums so far is about 12 GB. This significantly increases the monthly cost of operation. Going forward, uploading photos and attachments is enabled for subscribing members. See here for more info. If you don't want to subscribe, I'd recommend free hosting elsewhere like http://www.tinypic.com or Google Photos. Then you can post the link to the photo here and it will appear inline.
  6. I love cars, but I'm not quite a nut yet, mostly due to lack of free time. Saw this razzle dazzle treatment today:
  7. There are a bunch of BTS in the Bomber inventory.
  8. The 12 Gigs of pictures we already have are pushing us into a higher service level that is almost double the cost of the one we could be using based on number of users. The cheapest subscription is 10 cents per day. If that's too much then I recommend using something like www.tinypic.com or Google Photos to host images and then you can embed them here as Corey demonstrated. Hope that helps!
  9. Looks like we should be all set now. Maybe not 100% going back to the dawn of time, but probably as good as it's going to get. Anyone let me know if you see any issues. Certainly any new images should persist.
  10. I was waiting for someone to make the A.P. reference, haha, thanks @queequeg. The classifieds donation is totally optional, and the amount is up to you. No pressure. I don’t feel like boards sell for more on eBay. There is a way to have the forum take a cut, but I don’t think we need to go there. Keep in mind new stuff is now fair game.
  11. Yeah. I'm going back and forth with tech support on this. I'll update when this is resolved.
  12. I'd be very surprised if that were the case, I would think installing all 4x2, UPM, and Allflex inserts would weaken the core too much.
  13. Bomber sold stock Kesslers for several years. My 168 has the current sexy p-tex topsheet with the "grain" surface finish, for lack of a better term, so I think it's a 2018 model. The website doesn't show the topsheet in detail, I think the pictures of the boards on the site are just drawings.
  14. Yeah I'm not getting a feeling of 40 degrees there either. The steepest part of White Heat at Sunday River is 35 degrees. Steepest part of KT-22 at Squaw Valley is 43 degrees. Corbet's Couloir is 53 degrees. A 100% slope is 45 degrees. http://www.skibum.net/do-it-up/comparing-steepness-of-ski-trails/
  15. FWIW, my stock 168 has UPM inserts. It was made in Switzerland, I got it from Bomber in the fall. And my stock Austrian-made 180 has UPM inserts too.
  16. And I’ll second the notion of contacting Kessler directly. I’ve been dealing with Hansjuerg on my custom 175.
  17. I would think the 162 will simply be too short for a 6’4” dude, but I’ve never ridden one. I’m 190lbs and I love my 168 and have raced it in SL. I think whichever one you get, if it doesn’t work out you could easily sell it for a small loss. Think of it as a rental fee.
  18. On the desktop version it says what member type you are under your avatar. Lowrider, send me a PM and we’ll work it out, thanks.
  19. This forum/website is no longer affiliated with Bomber. I think it’s better for the sport for it not to be affiliated with any manufacturer. And let me add my appreciation to Walker - this is great news indeed!
  20. If you successfully sell your gear here, please consider a donation to keep this site running and to support youth racing through USASA, and the USSRT. For reference, eBay takes a whopping 10% of your final sale price. We're not asking for that, but anything helps. Perhaps 3-5% of your sale price as an idea. Click here to make a donation of your choosing. Thanks!
  21. Thanks everyone. To our Canadian friends, if this takes off we will look into expanding our support to a Canadian racing organization. ??
  22. Sure, if you want a custom plan, send me a private message. Thanks!
  23. The monthly membership should auto-renew. Is that agreeable?
  24. Welcome @VWBrian! Only adjusting boot forward lean usually isn't enough for most people. Even if you could achieve zero forward lean in the cuff, the boot sole is ramped forward. I'm glad you thought to modify your bindings, this is common and it allows you to use a slightly wider stance for better stability. There's more reading on this and other technique subjects here: http://alpinesnowboarder.com/tech-articles/ Good luck!
