  1. fixed. Chubz, you might also consider my version of the X2, dubbed the "M-spec" Stubby. 171cm, 21cm, 14.2m. Board does it all.
  2. Yes folks, let's keep it above the belt. Patrice, nice to see you here. Same to you Frank, but I think the high quality of your boards speaks for itself. No need to get defensive here. I would encourage you to join the Vendor forum where you can broadcast product updates and company news.
  3. Excellent condition, barely used (10-15 days), $95 PTC tune (beveled 1 base 3 side) and structure, stainless-steel inserts, "Angel" graphics, green sidewalls, very nice looking. A couple minor scratches in the base, edges and top are great, no epoxy goofs, very clean. Pics of the board to follow... some pics of her in action... http://www.jmphotocraft.com/profile/h1.jpg $525 shipped in the 48 states. buyer pays the difference to elsewhere.
  4. probably somehow, distantly. There are a lot of us out there though.
  5. What do you weigh, what is your inseam, and what is your foot size? If you are an average sized male, that Amp is most likely not going to work. Check out the links below, they have some info to help new carvers get going. Good luck!
  6. canuckcarver: pay up. By your own admission, you knew the kid was there on turn 1, and then you hit him on turn 2, and he couldn't have known you were there.
  7. Boots. First day of the season, and first day on my brand new '89 Safari. Forgot my stinkin' boots. So I crammed my ski boots into the 3 strap bindings and made it work, albeit miserably. I swore off ever riding hardboots that day.
  8. only way I'd be in is if I get this project done for work (deadline 2/28), and I don't really see that happening. it might though.
  9. http://news.mainetoday.com/updates/039876.html Skied every open day and then some from 1980 to 2005.
  10. "Virus 186 GS ASYM!! I rode the suspension plated version of the board on Sunday and was pleased with the performance. It took a little bit to nail the positioning needed to ride an asymetrical stick but by today, I had figured it out. Super upright and almost back-seat on the heelside and forward with an outstretched torso on the toe. I took 12+ runs on this board and couldn’t release the edge when properly positioned."
  11. The cost of having the topsheet printed and shipped was $60 when I did it. How awesome is that? I'll never have a stock topsheet again! Of course if you have to pay someone for the design work, that's extra.
  12. The Donek Axxess, Prior 4WD, and Coiler All-Mtn are all comparable. I think the Axxess is a bit stiffer. However all those boards turn me off as I think their sidecuts are too short. I demo'd a 174 and it just wasn't my bag, baby. Forget 11.2m. You haven't lived until you feel the smooth, fast, planted ride of a 14-16 meter sidecut. Check out Shred's unveiling of his topless Monster here. You could put a topsheet on that bad boy if you don't like the look.
  13. bouncing chairs can cause a derailment. explaining that should put a stop to it.
  14. Awesome! What is your inseam? I would think with 3 degree disks front and rear that 19" could work, but if you have shorter legs maybe not. Moving the front binding forward is a common choice, don't worry about it.
  15. NICE find. Man... reminds me of slacking off at my first job out of college!! :D
  16. lowrider, that Russian Zil thing does not appear to be amphibious. Where's the icebreaker?

  18. It's temporary until Fin can deal with the whole situation and make a ruling. Unfortunately this was the only way to put the flames out until after SES.
  19. Looks great and very poised up until the last shot where you have bent forward at the waist and are reaching for the snow a little. Remember what your momma told you about posture. Shoulders up, hips down. PaulK getting it done...

    Epoch Time

To my fellow geeks... Epoch Time, the number of seconds since 00:00:00 January 1, 1970, will be 1234567890 today at 18:31:30 EST. So if you see anyone nerdy staring at their digital watch or iPhone around then, that's why. http://coolepochcountdown.com
  21. If he is enjoying racing, I would recommend the Donek over the new-old-stock Burton. If he's still just testing the waters, the Burton will suffice. If he is leaping out of bed at 5am to go racing and is serious about standing on the podium, then you want to look into a metal board. Prior would have the best offering that is readily available. 168-ish would be good for GS, for SL look around 158-163. There is some info in the links below that might help you. Good luck!
  22. welcome back! I have often thought that about the Blind Melon video. For boards check out Coiler, Prior, Donek.
