  1. Do you have to be flashing "rock-on" horns with both hands while riding that? :D
  2. I thought Hooger Booger built the first asym? I like daisies.
  3. Hi Frank. Maybe you can correct me but it looks like your plate is a similar design as the Vist plate?
  4. Robert, yes, please explain again how sheep bladders may be used to prevent earthquakes.
  5. I'm sorry, I'm not making myself clear. Karl's style isn't what I mean by knees jammed together, and the back knee is not at all in the pocket of the front. It seems we agree about that. I think I actually ride like this.
  6. Perhaps the plate will help people realize that their binding/boot setup is not tuned properly to their body? Because now the mounting surface will remain constantly flat. I think that's going to feel very different. I imagine many people are going to have to make binding/boot adjustments after they buy one of these.
  7. Dude, all I want is for people to quit riding like Keith Duckboy Wallace. That's all.
  8. yes, they were. this is what happens when you try to explain something around here. exactly. some people did get it.
  9. That's an extremely transient moment in the carve, and, his knees aren't together anyway. I guarantee you he's not riding entire turns with his back knee tucked into the pocket of his front knee.
  10. What? I've never seen any picture or video of any racer in the modern era riding a course with their knees jammed together.
  11. I can't think of a case where knees together improves balance. Or comfort for that matter.
  12. The flex of the plate, or lack thereof, will be a factor. I've set foot on tb's Donek proto on dry land, and it is possible to flex the plate with your feet. A plate with flex like that will still allow some displacement of the feet with respect to each other. I don't know if that's universally a bad thing, or if it would be a more forgiving ride for freecarvers or freeriders. Or less forgiving? I dunno.
  13. Cool, sorry, when i saw the poll today it appeared under the original thread title. I know you had tried to change it. No worries, we just need to maintain consistency when communicating with resorts. Sugarloaf, Stowe, and Stratton know what the ECES is and we have a reputation with them. I'm actually not even attached to the name, but it's kind of a thing now.
  14. for anything specifically non-carving related. Hardboot carving discussion goes here, in the Carving Community. Hardboot carving "lifestyle" discussion might go here. Softboot carving discussion goes here. Softboot freeriding/pow/freestyle/jibbing/base and edge destruction/etc goes there, in OT. Thanks.
  15. Cartharsis, nothing personal as I don't know you, but nobody other than official ECES organizers are allowed to use the name "ECES" or "East Coast Expression Session" when dealing with any resort or for promoting an event. The people who do work on the real ECES work very hard at it, and deserve to retain control of the event's image. Thanks. I think you understand this, as you did try to change the title of this thread. I've completed that for you now. Just wanted to remind you not to use the name with resorts.

  17. I'll never know. Too close to "Mullet".
  18. 's ok Geoff. Mark and I have an understanding. He's talking schmack, don't take it too heavily. But I agree it's hard to know that in text, so your reaction is understandable. Mark, the article includes riding impressions as well as spec analysis. I have to assume that Sean's 14-24 has been stiffened up since then, because the one I rode for the review was too soft. It had the longest sidecut in the test by a wide margin, but it didn't carve any longer than the others. As such it wasn't as confidence inspiring. The 14-20 Donek was very fun though. Man, you need to get some snow time soon, you're turning into the Bordy of freecarvers! :p Hey Todd, fix your white balance. Pfft, amateur. ;)
  19. I did. http://www.bomberonline.com/articles/newhotness.cfm
  20. Thunderdome shouldn't feel dissed. It should just know it is dissed. ;) :p
