Hey all. I just got this board for crusin' around. I love it so far. Still getting used to riding a deck again. its been nearly 20years! i'm not all that stable yet going down small hills but on the flats and low pitch hills i feel like it carves rather well. I feel like the bushings could be harder but i'm going to wait on that till i have a few more days on them. Wheels are 87a's and are very gripy even in the wet as we havn't had many dry days since i got the deck. I went ahead and ordered some 97a's (which i understand are super hard) so i can get used to sliding again. girlfriend's mama glad i just had my 14th birthday..

The mountain where i work everyday. Hard booters there are few. I actually met one of this sites members there, we can exclude him, (Catamount Ski and Ride area) and from what i've seen of the others its just skidding and people are afraid to tip the thing over. When i see some one with an alpine board i expect to be running into trenches everywhere... no so much from what i see.

wtf? every snowboard made can carve. 90% of the people i see with "hard boots" can't carve and just skid around "looking cool".

OP, have you tried them in a freestyle sort of stance on an freestyle type set up? I think that would be a good test to see if they do what you want them too.

I don't know much about hardboots but this sounds like you've tightened your boots too much and are not pressuring the board properly. just sayin.... My soft set up is Burton Hail (super soft) and CO2s and i can get super high edge angles all through out the turn.

these people are highly trained and are looking to take advantage of technology. Most people do not do these things so, in some instances, the fundamentals of snowboarding are lost in these technologies. In the end, the board just sits there on the snow and does nothing till you strap it on. If a rider who cannot, lets say carve on a regular all mountain board, will still not be able to carve on a carving specific board. Yes technology can make you faster, floatier or cooler but from what i've seen it cannot make you a better rider. Take a never ever and put him/her on a regular cambered board and with in a couple of hours, depending on the person, can begin to start to make turns. Take the same person and put them on say libtech's skate banana and watch them struggle to keep the board the direction they need it to. I've seen this many times. cheers
