  1. Silly question... why wouldn't you put the laser on the bow instead of the arrow?
  2. wow. http://www.faqs.org/contrib/jj2/Alpine-snowboarding.html top google hit for "alpine snowboarding faq". you can reach the owner of that article at webmaster@wirebase.com
  3. Extreme carving certainly looks like a ton of fun, and it is. However attempting to lay out carves like those guys before you have learned the basics of carving is difficult and often results in bad habits, such as bending over at the waist and reaching down for the snow with your hands. Extreme carving is an expert level skill much like getting big air in a big halfpipe with lots of vert. You shouldn't attempt it until you have a solid mastery of fundamental carving skills.
  4. get me some Leffe Brune while you're at it!!
  5. I'm no bootfitter but I can say with confidence that the Fires will be too stiff.
  6. I dunno. The Kessler 185 I bought for the board test last year was the stiffest of the group, and I liked it the best. The Donek Rec GS was the softest, but it was still a great ride. It could be turned tighter and therefore was more versatile and "comfortable". But for carving at 10 tenths, the stiffer boards inspired more confidence. My 14m 170 is stiffer than the 12m 177 I used to have, and I like the 170 better. The softer board would give up the ghost at times.
  7. Ben Bostrom emailed BOL, he's going to repo your helmet and the board.
  8. Haha, well, not "only", but I can imagine some people might prefer a more turny, "hooky" shape for a shorter board. But for GS, IMO this is the only way to fly.
  9. There is a review of these types of boards here: http://www.bomberonline.com/articles/newhotness.cfm For longer GS style boards, it's the way to go.
  10. $220 and a Rossi Throttle. Final offer.
  11. oh yeah Jim, you are going to love that board. Bring some spare boxers on your first few days.
  12. Those aren't "regular" width boards, those are beginner boards. ;)
  13. FWIW, JSYK, FYI, ETC... she had disclosed here before that she was selling stuff to help fund her fight against breast cancer. I'm not taking sides. Just sayin'.

  15. queequeg - not sure, I'll ask. I love the Mac Mini idea. Mini + wireless mouse + wireless keyboard = $837. slopestar, it's a 1080p HDTV. So, 1920x1080.
  16. Need an inexpensive laptop that can display to a 1080p HDTV and fill the screen. (1920x1080) My uncle got an Acer 17.3" laptop for $598, but he says he can't get it to display more than 1600x900 when hooked up to his TV. He wants to return it and get something that can. His main use for the machine will be digital photography. I know, I suggested a Macbook, but he is on a budget. Please help, thanks!
  17. Come on tb, you know you can "just tweak" the TD2/3 if you want to. No math required, and you can read your settings right off the binding. If you really want to know your exact cant and lift angles, there is a table here: http://www.bomberonline.com/JackM/td2matrix.xls
  18. Renn Tiger is a much better board than the UP or Alp. I'd go with that and be happy.
  19. All Factory Primes were sandwich construction.
  20. Depends on your weight. Both boards are on the softer side for alpine boards. The UP will probably turn a little tighter than the Alp. What do you weigh and how tall are you?
  21. I didn't say it! Dave, what is the difference? I seem to remember Burtons having those markings but I could never tell what it meant.
