  1. Not broken yet and they are still in use by my brother in Salt Lake City. I just like the simplicity of them, no intec or physic heels to deal with. I used them with ski boots for a few years, then with Burton Reactors and finally Burton Winds. I never had to worry about breaking an Intec cable. My brother gets out a few times a year on the carving board so they aren't getting the use and abuse that I would hve given them. They are the same color as the ones listed above.
  2. just to give a heads up on the heel lever adjustment screw. Even though there is a threaded hole for a screw they don't need one. I purchased a new set many years ago from the Burton rep in the bay area at the time and he had a few screws to put in. It didn't change the functionality of the binding at all with the adj screw in or completely out. BTW, I liked those bindings@
  3. Torn miniscus is no big deal Luca. They take care of it with a simple arthroscopic procedure. I have had two of these procedures myself. Threee small incisions into the knee for the camera and snipping tools. When I had my knee "scoped" I was back on the volleyball court within three weeks time. While that was probably not what the Dr. ordred he asked me how it felt and I said fine. He then said, just don't overdue it, ice it after use and stop if you feel pain. I never did. You'll be back to carving soon! And no more comments abot you getting old and falling apart, I have got 20 years on you bambino! When your knees ache and the hip joints ache and ibuprfen is part of your dailiy regiment, right after the morning poo then, and only then, can you begin to talk about falling apart!!
  4. Ugh, 9000 feet???? Let's hope the forecasts are way off!!
  5. Sad, sad news. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
  6. Did you even go through the threads before you posted this?? I have been up there at least 6 times this winter and I haven't run into you before. Believe me, if you are on hardboots I will track you down!
  7. There are a couple others from Oceanside up there also for Sunday, 1/15. I would be there but my pass is blacked out due to MLK holiday.
  8. Great pictures Andrea. Looks like I need to work on not "pettin the dog". It was a great day!!
  9. Great Day with even great snow!! It was great to see all you guys again and meet some new carvers. Thanks again to Jenny and Mike for hosting the get together. I had a blast!
  10. shoot a note to Bullwings (Albert), he may want to carpool
  11. Mike and Andrea have some high dollar cameras. I believe Andrea is bringing his after I talked with him today and Mike may bring his to the hill also
  12. The past few weeks the temps have been getting below freezing at night in big bear valley, on the mtn though it is completely different. There is a huge temperature inversion going on currently with night time temps on the slopes being in the low to mid 40s. A perfect example of this is Snow Valley. SV was able to make snow last night but only in their base area as the higher mtn temps were too high to blow snow. Let's hope that Snow Summit is able to make some snow before Sunday.
  13. Luca, wear the appropriate pants with some water repellency in them. Not those things that you had on a few weeks ago. I was having 80s flashbacks with those things. The only thing that could have made them better is if they were day glo colors. At least come up for the apres boarding activities
  14. Ugh! Looks like the temps are going to remain high enough that they won't be able to blow snow! What happened to winter? Sierra snowpack is on 19% of where it should be, spring like temps here in SoCal mtns. Time to dust off thw wakeboard and waterski. 35 off @ 34mph next week for sure!
  15. If I am feeling better I may join you. I will let you know
  16. looks like conditions will be favorable for blowing lots of snow beginning Tuesday of next week. Temps down in the teens for the nighttime. I might be on the carving stick for the first part of the day and then jump over to the carving sticks for that latter half.
  17. It will be good seeing you and Andrea again. As for the snow conditions it might me spring like when the 8th rolls around. They were showing temps in the 40s first thing this am and Jenny (mike's wife) said it was up to 60 at Summit today for the high. This weather is supposed to remain for the next ten days. Only thing we can wish for is a Santa Ana condition to come in so they can blow some snow or better yet force this high pressure out of here with a storm. I don't see the latter happening though.
  18. Wow, KK is killing it!! Awesome turns Kai. Hopefully I can ride with you and the rest of the LCI soon. Keep it up. Dad, you must be proud, I know I would be.
  19. Andrea... carvingchef Julian..... Arclite Lance....Slopestar George....GeorgeS Aaron...OVR
  20. great conditions today, Terry W, George S and I were out there tearing it up. i recommend heading up there soon! Good to see you again George and it was great to ride with a friend who I haven't ridden much with lately as his ski patrol obligations get in the way.. Hope to ride with you more in the future Terry!

    Yo Lci!!

After reading of Ink's experience and watching two of my local fellow carvers get hit from behind on Sunday I think I am only going to break out the alpine board on mid-week days and use the carving skis on the weekends. It is just too crazy here at the local resorts on a weekend unless you are out there at first light! I did ride my board for a brief spell last weekend but was skittish the entire time I was on it. Looking over my shoulder, looking for the straightliner who suddenly appears going mach 10. When I am on snow skis I am one of the faster ones on the mtn and the risk of getting hit from behind is significantly reduced. I just don't want to be knocked out of commision this early in the season.
  22. I was there yesterday along with bullwings and zeta tre and others. There wasn't much carving going on due to all the new snow. I will give it a few days for them to pack it down and try to hit it on Thursday
  23. Not in the lift line but funny to me regardless: Scenario: I'm sitting in my buddy's office at my local ski hill still dressed in my carving gear. We are exchanging thoughts when one of his coworkers walks in: "Chris, you have got to see the size of that alpine board that's parked in the rack downstairs". Chris: "how big is it?" Coworker: "who the hell rides something that big?" "Its huge!" Chris: "I know of only one guy who rides big alpine boards up here and he is sitting in that chair right there" pointing at me. Coworker: "you ride that thing?? How the heck do you turn it up here" Me: "it turns very quickly, it has lots of sidecut and I am fat so I bend it well" Coworker: "what's the length on that? 200cm?" Me: "its only a 185 Coworker: "its gotta be bigger than that" Me:"nope, 185" That's all, brought a smile to my face

    Yo Lci!!

Sorry to hear about the collision Ink. Hope you are doing better, glad to hear that it didn't put you out for the season like others here on the message board. How did it happen, hit from behind?? Heal fast, heal stronger! OVR
