  1. I have a nidecker spectre 157, you can ride hard or soft with it. I believe they have longer sizes with a bit larger waist.
  2. I know it's my softy board but DB Cooper themed. Ride it like ya stole it.
  3. Hey, I learned this year not to be afraid, and just get into the turn and let the board do the work. For the longest time I had always fell to the vice of thinking too much about everything that I was doing. Now, I have a nice little quiver, with many options to ride, and I have them all pretty much worked out for a purpose. I had initially started on boards that were def not for me, and I never really understood what it would feel like to be on the correct setup. The best advice I got this year was from a gal that was riding hards on my local mountain, and I was talking about angles with her. I always thought that lower angles would be easier to manage, and she brought up the point that if you are running super low angles then you are actually fighting with the board, and not letting it work with you. I have really improved this year, in both hards and softs, and had a great time. Thanks for always being helpful with advice, and supportive. Duffy
  4. there are a couple super stiff bindings I have I have found that Now O-Drives, Burton Diodes, and the old Nidecker carbons are bomb. also, I was just riding my new to me SG Soul today with the Nows and Jones MTB boots. Great ride for sure.
  5. This is a good one. Random dude has to jump on my chair when there is no line. Homeboy has rental skis, and looks at me and says are those pants fast??? I was like huh, and he goes your pants are they fast when you fall and you slide a long ways.. I said I try not to fall but if so I guess.
  6. Hey, I'm not sure how to describe it. when I use my jja bx board with hards, I can get it up on both edges and carve pretty well. but when I put on the spectre the other day it felt very unstable and I def felt locked on my toe side and just skidding all over the place, or just very grabby. it's probably just my terrible form, and that I got scared of it because it was choppy. lol
  7. Haha I bought it and almost died. The bogus snow that fell in Massachusetts was not groomed. I'm far from an experienced hardbooter and it was not a good time. Maybe someone can help me but I felt like my toe to heel transition got stuck?? I have the 157 with a 22 cm waist. My angles were like 40ish low 30s.
  8. I have 2 pairs of head bindings, but I don't really know too much about them.
  9. I have some upz rc 10 in grey with black tongues. I sent you a message
  10. Thanks BB I wasnt sure where to put it. I found one today after many calls to shops. I'll keep everyone posted.
  11. Annnnndddd go. Good, bad, and thoughts on this bad boy.
  12. Anyone have any experience with one of these? I'm intrigued to see what this little board can do. Thanks, Duffy

  14. if anyone has some laying around i'm looking for a pair or 2. thanks, duffy
  15. agreed. I saw a video of that, and god bless him. I would perish.
  16. Ok not a lift line comment however I feel it deserves this thread. Found in a soft boot group on fb. Dude was looking to fab something to help him release his step in burton binding without having to bend over so far..... "I googled hardbooting, and alpine boards. Why doesn't anyone freestyle in the park on the with those hardboots?????" Ok buddy u give that a try and make sure it ends up on YouTube.
  17. Hey, I actually have 3 Gilsons and think that they are awesome. I know that many guys who soft boot feel very strongly against them, and they give the company and boards little to no respect. I on the other hand find them to be great, and I have 2 all mountain boards, and a featherlite. With the soft edge that all the boards have it's very similar to our hardboots. I find that when you are carving with them they make you commit to the turn, and they will grab very well when they are up on edge. The other thing with these boards is that they have a raised center (either channel, or whole) which allows you to be able to ride flat without catching an edge. When you get a board from them they are very responsive, and involved in the process of helping you decide what you want and what will work best for you. they have awesome graphics, and all of the boards that I have custom graphics. Also, when they send your board it arrives in less than 2 weeks from purchase, comes with a wood piece from the core that is signed by the builder with a cool little note. The dudes also give you a super nice wooden snowboard rack that is on their site for 80.00 for free. I really like these boards, and company and think that I will continue to get boards from them in the future. Duffy
  18. Oh it was on a Gilson ad, and some lady started going off about the forward stance, and you could see the ad with a bunch of people from softy groups. And a lot of people feel some sort of way about those boards. I actually love them a lot because it's about as close to my alpine board as I have use with softy boots.
  19. I'm dying... quack quack old man
  20. Hey, I just was looking for thoughts on the forward stance that we use. I ride relatively low angles on my two alpine boards, and also use a forward stance for soft boots. I ordered a custom board from Gilson, and posted a picture of the board with my bindings on it. This turned into a huge discussion about stance, and it appears that many people in the soft boot world don't use, understand, or agree with a forward stance. I didn't argue with them I just responded with my opinion, and a photo of what a forward stance looks like. I guess I'm just looking for opinions, and thoughts on if you guys use a forward all the time with all types of boards.
  21. we have another sighting... last Thursday blue helmet, blue and grey jacket, neon yellow or green upz.
