    Chile

+1 for Termas Had a great time last year with good snow conditions for both, carving and pow. Portillo was fun too, much more family oriented though… If you can split the trip and travel with a rental car from the Santiago area ski resorts all the way south to Termas, pretty cool scenic drive… Yea, and all the good Chilean wine, hmm! Would and will do it again! Cheers!
  3. No, early 90's I was still mostly riding Austria and Switzerland... moved permanently to the US in '95. Crested Butte, I was told to go there, maybe one day when I need a break from Aspen... never been to Stratton either, geez, still so much to explore. Anyway, would be fun to make some turns together... Cheers!
  4. Not 100% sure if your question was for me, but I assume. No, these days I don't make much turns anymore, getting really picky ... btw, do I know you, maybe from the SES? If not, we should go out togehter an play a little... Maybe next years SES.
  5. Max, just for you, a little teaser from today ;) <object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5dEYrrLo8Y"> </param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5dEYrrLo8Y" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object> (sorry for the bad quality, done with a phone camera) Darn, sooo many people today, and the grooming sucked as well :D
  6. No no no Jack, it sure is a S N O O O O W B O A A A A A R D !!!!!!!! Please, let's not open that can o worms Cheers!
  7. And that happened a couple time before and sure no big deal! I was basically who first pushed the Virus brand here in the US and therefore some people thought I would be the Virus rep. Like I said, I am a big fan of the Virus brand and over the last 5 years became really good friends with Frank the owner, who is a real genius in his field. He like nobody else uses material combinations for his boards & skies in a way which in my opinion are not met by any other manufacturer. In my case, I am riding only boards up to 14.2cm in the waist these days. To build a board with such a small waist, which delivers a tremendous amount of snap/pop and aggressive feel AND does not break due to the fact that it is too narrow or too thin, even with really aggressive riders like Max from Germany for example, is in my opinion is a real skill! That’s all I say in regards to my opinion about Virus in general. I did not want to comment at all because “my opinion” is way to bias. For me, there is nothing else but Virus, Virus and Virus. Just found this shot of myself on the Pureboarding site. I think Joerg took it 2 days ago on Ruthies. A nice shot which shows how narrow 14cm really is on the snow Ok, out to Ajax now, blue skies and perfect groomers this morning ;)
  8. Yea, yesterday was lots of fun with you guys! Nice pics!
  9. ...sorry, can't really comment right now, am out with my skinny Virus... Btw, Not a Virus rep, just a big fan Hans, Huh? "What I don't like about these boards are their small width. That's what is stopping me to buy one." Cheers!

    Back in Aspen

Well, it’s started snowing today, so timing is of the essence ;)
  11. Unfortunately this will not work really well. Since the liner is being injected in one shell, it forms itself with high pressure to exact that form. Every little gap and hole will be filled out. If you now take this liner and put it into another model shell, it will not fit the same and probably create some really nice pressure points. The only way this would possible work is if you switch from hard shell to soft boots, maybe.

    Back in Aspen

Will be back in Aspen 3/22 to 4/5 (at least, depending on conditions from there... Joeg and several other Pureboarding guys will be back as well and Chris Klug is having his camp the same weekend... could all be fun! Anyone else coming as well?
  22. We left Aspen for now, but will be back 3/28 - 4/4 for some more carving. Let's hope the weather holds up nice.
  23. Guys, come over to Aspen so you can ride Friday! My last riding day in town :( Would be nice to ride with you!
  24. Btw, if someone is interested in the Strolz foam injected liners, Footloose in Mammoth (ask for Corty) has them and Performance Ski in Aspen ($450, ask for Fletcher) is carrying them as well. Strolz http://www.strolz.at/english/gesamt.htm Look for “Inner boot”
  25. Here are my 2 cents Foam injected liners, if done right are hard to beat in performance. During the foaming process the person who does the job can actually control how hard the “fill” therefore the fit will be. The result should be a 100% custom fit. I have not used or seen this UPZ liner, but I am riding the Strolz foam injected liners now for 3 seasons. Before I would have even a ¼ inch of heel lift in my boots, I will probably rip the bindings off my board (and that did not happen so far). This means best performance with the most perfect power transmission to the board (ask Bordy;-). Oh, the reason why I got them, I could not get any other liner to work with my feet. Cheers!
