  1. thanks for all the great feedback guys...gonna go with a schtubby! hopefully in the future ill get a chance to ride a virus...wish i could grab one of each but the money tree needs another season to sprout more green :-)
  2. thanks guys for all the feedback and to andrea for making the peace... bola i must say thats quite the wall you have there...the vampire is truly a work of art! im looking for a snappy, damp board that will handle a variety of eastern canadian terrain, namely groom, ice, and a bit of chunky afternoon mash. should be stable at mid/high speeds but still edgy and playful on busy/slow days. basically looking for the ultimate all-rounder. the schtubby sounds like a winner. ive looked around other threads and people rave about its versatility. the virus seem a bit more 'focused' with some narrow waists and serious high-speed stability. and they're bloody beautiful. tough choice ... hopefully i'll get to try both sometime in the future, perhaps bola's sweet sweet vampire now that we're pals and all :-)
  3. great shot! appreciate your input ray even if youre a diehard virus fan...must be a reason for that :-)
  4. one more thing...my reference to 'ray' being a virus rep was based on information id gathered elsewhere. it could have been wrong. my mistake. thought he'd have some good insight about that product.
  5. this coiler schtubby sure has people talking. sounds like a versatile all-rounder. im riding a prior 4wd right now and loving it, just want something special to add to the 'quiver' (love that phrase its new to me :-) any more impressions on the zylon virus? coilers takin' over here! Schtubby here i come??!!
  6. appreciated, but if im goin the virus route i think id go directly to the source. when i spoke to frank i could hear the shop working hard in the background...very cool. keep the opinions comin' :)
  7. them's fightin' words! i know i know...personal taste...price...all these factors will be touched on here. i just want to get a feeling from people who've owned/ridden both boards to give me some idea on what you preferred. ive spoken to both bruce at coiler and frank at virus...both great guys who know a whole lot more about boards than i ever will. the coiler's seem like a more 'honest' board as the construction techniques, while very detailed, seem proudly traditional. virus seems to use more high-tech materials and construction elements. ive heard that virus' USA rep is on here...ray? love to hear from you!
