  1. The hill will probably be closed this Monday due to favourable windsurfing conditions.
  2. Saturday. Conditions were hero corduroy with decent coverage on the 2010 Olympic™® Boarder-Cross run. Snow was cushy and fast. First couple of runs were best with very few people on the run. Two chairlifts were open, which is impressive considering the early-season opening. Mid-morning, it started dumping. Raven will be opening soon! The famous pulled-pork poutine was a familiar but satisfying treat during the lunch break.
  3. Yes, there was lots of liquid pow this morning (Saturday). Got my pass printed at 8:15. Day #1!!! Will be at the hill for Sunday too.
  4. I'm 165 to 170 pounds. I mount both bindings in the rearmost position on my Dynastar 3800 - 163 cm. Works great even in the waist-deep stuff!
  5. Sunday January 4. Weapon of the day: Dynastar 3800 - 163 cm pow stick. Mostly 4" fresh & dry over groomed. It was snowing heavily throughout the morning. Vis was a little flat. The less popular runs were knee-deep!!! The freezing level soars to over 2000, 3000 metres for the next several days with rain starting tomorrow in the alpine. That might be it for this season.
  6. Saturday January 3. Lifts opened at 8:50. Snow off Eagle Chair was full-width. Coverage was good with the occasional pebble showing. Good firm softpacked hero corduroy. Crowd was non-existent for the first half hour. When we left at noon, the lift line at Eagle was about 5 minutes. Didn't try the Lions side. Someone reported poor coverage on Collins. Tomorrow looks to be a good day.
  7. There are 3 models of Gecko Plates: Free, Cross, Carve. Which model are you reviewing?
  8. Pwned = owned. Popular slang about 10 years ago.
  9. BTW, they only gave away 200 tickets on Saturday. Hardly anyone there. On Sunday morning, there was 8 inches of fresh. The Dynastar 3800 - 163 cm powder board was the proper weapon of choice. Fast cruising speed with big sweeping surfy turns. Only about 10 people lapping the Olympic Chair, so we had tons of pow runs.
  10. Coverage was decent. Zero rocks hit. Lower elevations were a little mushy, while upper elevations were hero cord. Grooming wasn't spectacular though. Obviously the main runs (Cut, Expo, etc.) are the only ones open. The park was fun too. I was right about the crowds. They were nonexistent. Hardly anyone there.
  11. cypress has now closed windsurf season never ends... big swell, wind - send it
  12. P.S. Friday's forecast is for free burgers and a pop.
