SkateGoat: I have had goods going both ways across the border. There are many ways of getting around the potential taxes/duties. I have sent/received numberous skateboard/snowboard packages from the US (I am in Canada) and about 99% of the time - I get them through duty and tax free. Plus, you have the benefit of the dollar exhange, that makes goods from Canada slightly cheaper. Hope it helps Rob

FOR SALE: A excellent Burton Factory Prime 173 with the rarer 18cm waist. The is the metallic blue topsheet with the neon green sidewalls. One small chip on the top sheet - size of a cheerio under the rear binding. Properly repaired with epoxy. Board had a full tune and base grind last year and never ridden. Looking for $175.00 plus shipping. Also have a custom padded board bag - made for the board - that I will include for an extra $25.00. Perfect for travelling. Knowing that a lot of you are into motorcycles - I have a huge favor to ask. I am racing in a downhill skateboarder event and need to borrow a set of motorcycle leathers. They don't need to be in great shape, just enough to protect my body. I have to agree with everyone elses posts - I did not like any of the topsheets done by the high school students. Don't get me wrong - I think it was a great idea for them to try their best and demonstrate their art skills, but we are the ones paying for the boards and should be asked and not forced to decide. I would love to see something that makes the board look unique, for it is a unique board, but would like to stay away tacky (sp). A funky topsheet color with a Madd logo and our personalized name would be great. Another option would be something like Texalium® (Aramid/Carbon) - really sleak and space-age looking. In regards to names - should be name your board if you want or have in with the size only. Just my 2 cents. Rob

Henry: I am 40 myself and the level of control in a longboard skateboard is very similar to a carving snowboard. I am also doing a lot of slalom on a skateboard - running through complex courses of cones. I am based in Leaside (Bayview and Eglinton). Big Tone: I have to agree with Noah - I had an ACL receonstruction almost 15 years ago and the repaired knee works better than the original. My surgeon was pretty agressive with rehab (he was the Canadian Ski Team Ortho) and I was out cycling 5 weeks post surgury and was able to board the next winter with a sports brace. Understanding it is not you first choice, but getting it repaired properly with give you the security that it is not going to fail mid season. Hope it helps Rob

From my experience I would recommend a traditional longboard skateboard over any of the hybrid carvers. The perfromance and stability of a longboard feels almost exactly like an alpine board on the road. I would recommend a Bozi MB-II (44" - 48" long) - www.boziboards.com - set-up with either Randall 180's or Seismic 180's trucks. There is a wide range of wheels to choose from, but the ABEC 11's or 3DM's give you the most traction and speed. Vlad, is also on the money a longer slalom board (Bozi GS36, Insect, Roe, Pocket Pistol) would perform like a Madd 158 on the pavement. Add a slalom course of cones and you have a summer full of fun. Add in slider gloves and you can lay down carves with your hand on the pavement. Just my 2 cents. All the best, Rob

My suggestion is to contact EBay directly - it is my understanding that your bid is a legal binding contract. As indicated, he had 9 days to change his listing and didn't. A direct letter from Ebay, may get the guy to honor the deal. If not, post all the information about him and bad feedback to be sure he doesn't screw anyone else. Go to www.boziboards.com - buy yourself a MB-II and some sliding gloves and you will have perfect alpine carving on asphalt. If you want to get more intense and train your coordination - get a slalom skateboard and run cones. Great eye - foot training, plus a incredible amount of fun. Rob
